Ageing takes a toll on everyone. But if we are honest, the looks of attractive young women can often be really _devastated_ by the passing years! :-0 In the case of male actors it often doesn't seem to be quite so dramatic. Let's take Clint Eastwood for example: when he was in his 30s or 40s he obviously looked a hell of a lot younger. But seeing pictures of him in his 70s or 80s, do we get that same feeling of "oh wow, is that really the same person!?"..? We see this over and over again: just compare how Harrison Ford aged compared to how Carrie Fischer aged! (I know this stuff is kind of politically incorrect, but I find that time just seems to be a little bit kinder to men than to women...somehow...)

@@timeriderx Exactly true! Many younger people don’t get it, but they will. For me it started at menopause, and it’s been a gradual downward slope since then. I’m fine with that. It’s natural and happens to everyone, and it’s useless to try and fight it. Moreover, it’s a waste of time to keep battling to look young when you are ultimately going to fail, and there are many more important things you could be doing. The human body in youth is the shiny wrapping paper and pretty ribbons, and that’s great and should be appreciated. But it’s the quality of what’s inside the package that holds the true value of a soul.

These people haven’t just aged, they’ve changed beyond all recognition. That’s the point. The prurient interest in this is partly because we want to imagine what it might feel like to go from being very attractive to very un- attractive. We feel they’ve either deserved their loss or some kind of karma has befallen them ! Truth is : the lord giveth and the lord taketh away. Luckily for me , I’ve always been butt ugly so ageing won’t change me !

But also mental attitude, and a lifetime of small choices that are actually important choices. Moderation in all things. BTW if you want to see some great looking actors/actresses from the late 60s/early 70's check out "Love American Style!" . Its all here (for free)on YT! As I was a small child when it aired (would have been 4 years old in '69 & thus 9 in '74) I don't remember it and here in Canada I think I probably did not get it anyway as we had 2 channels! CBC & CTV - I am sure kids today think that can't be true but it was. And our TV was black & white. They splurged on a color one when I went to uni in 1983!
But yeah Its a great show and so awesome to see a long lost time & place. Its now 50 years ago and as I watch it I can't help but realize that when it was made the 1920's were 50 years ago. Somehow that seems odd. ua-cam.com/video/YLvtvXMSLps/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DafajaLujan

Watch all of the actresses from the 1940's and such, all of those women are beautiful. I think that's the secret blessing for an actress in movies, their beauty will live on in those who cherish what they gave to film. "Shocking" is not a word I'd use to describe it, only somebody who judges people cased on looks says it this way. It's a blessing to live long, happy and on film; for decades nonetheless. (:
