Seo Taji you learned abit about him in the first episode of this series. He is the start of K-pop. He, with his two members (but he was and is the main character), helped abolish pre-censorship. He created a new form of music in Korea. He is and was a legend. He had an impact on all K-pop groups.
correct me if i'm wrong, but BTS might be the only artist who are able to make a whole stadium shout "I LOVE MYSELF". the goosebumps from that day still lingers!!
this series end at episode 21 because the creator was busy in their private life so they couldn't finish it. but there's so much more after that up to the enlistment, probably the most successful period for them so far
The first episode covered Seo Taiji! To make it short, Seo Taiji is basically the Father of KPOP, the man who started blending pop, hiphop and rock to bring a genre of music to Skorea that had been, uptil then, sorely reliant on more traditional forms of music. SeoTaiji and the Boys is considered a legendary group as they created a rage among young adults because they wrote songs about injustice in the clasrooms, workforce, pay divide and so on. You can see how BTS can be considered inheritors of his musical ethos, which is why it was considered legendary that they were personally invited to perform at his anniversary concert that had his fans from all over Skorea congregating nearly 20 years or so after his retirement. Kind of a 'passing the torch' moment. There's a video by DKDKTV that details on the History of Kpop: From Seo Taiji to BTS if you'd like to learn more!
Thank you soo much for your reaction and commentary!! Just a quick note, the ARMY who created this series couldn’t finish the series due to personal reasons. She only was able to cover 5 years of BTS’s journey and they’ve been “officially” together for almost 12 years now (including training years will be for 15 years). During your journey you will soon realise that BTS is very much at the top but their highest so far is just the last few years where they shattered every record imaginable on a global scale and weren’t just the first “Korean” artist but the “first EVER artist”! Hope you’re enjoying your journey!!! And can’t wait to see what you guys react to once this series ends. Hopefully more of their music and discography as well as their own variety shows like RUN BTS and Bon Voyage 🥹💜
I always like to recommend 3 videos from bby gang mag that are not as big as other important BTS essays that ARMY usually asks ppl to react to, but that I feel are very informative for anyone who wants to learn more abt BTS, kpop, Seo Taiji and the history of how they all connect. These are a bit more dense to watch than your average BTS reaction video, but since you guys are so well educated on a lot of topics and specially already know quite a bit about kpop and some other groups I think you'd really like these videos, even if you don't put out reactions for them (altough, I'd personally like to see them lmao) - BTS vs. K-POP: a video essay - you're wrong about k-pop: a video essay - BTS: More Than K-Pop
i think this is a cute fact but i dont know if you guys noticed or not but every time before they go on stage and to the group chant saying bangtan suga never looks in the circle at the members like everyone else because he said the say he looks them in the eyes while doing the chant before going on stage will be the day bts last performs together and i find that so heart warming and adorable and im always secretly happy when i see his head turned away from the others cause i see it as them not being done yet with their BTS journey
you're just like meeee 😭😭😭🤝🤝🫶 and we know that day isn't coming anytime soon so my heart is so warm and at ease. There r many many years to come with the tannies 🥹
i feel bad even bringing this up bc it's so sweet but suga actually never said that, army made it up, he said he doesn't look in because the eye contact is too awkward to him and that's about it. The only reason i'm bringing this up is that there are clips of him looking in and I don't want ppl to jump to conclusions if he does it again in the future because we put meaning where he didn't
In K pop, Jimin is referred to as Rookies Bible. I really enjoy you guy's reaction. You don't interrupt too much, just the right amount. Keep Going. You nice. ( LOL). 💜
I am a new subscriber and have been binge watching your reactions to Rise of Bamgtan. I must say that I enjoy your reactions very much as your views are thoughtful and meaningful. I am a grandma Army and it makes me happy when I see new folks discovering our OT7. I hope you will react to the boys’ variety shows like In TheSoop 1&2 and their Bon Voyage S1-S4, as well as their performances. Borahae.💜
Great reaction, as always! I usually don't suggest content, but I must recommend you both watch the Seo Taji & BTS concert. It is literally the Legends of Korean music coming together. 💜
Korea has facing a problem about not having big enough venue's for concerts, the biggest one so far one has a 30k capacity, the artists have to book with like 2years before the concert date, that being one of the reasons for them have like six shows in seul each tour, there's one stadium in construction but the completion date is 2026, so BTS is gonna be the one opening it probably i guess😂
Hobi is JHope . Check out Lollapalooza or named as Hobipalooza , where he made history as the first korean to headline that festival, and the highest sold tickets. Bangtan’s solo career era or chapter 2 started in 2022, so its not yet after this chapter
This is kind of a small gripe of mine. But I really wish the TROB editors chose better translations for the songs. There are so many great BTS translators out there who regularly provide high quality translations for the BTS songs. I'm a bit sad that the editors instead went for translations that are, well, not so good.
They r no doolset, haruharu etc translations but it's still far better than your average youtube lyric videos lol in this series I give the song translations a 6-7/10
@@g100-w6j Also speaking of lyric videos, there are some good channels who have amazing translations for BTS songs. Dial 6137, deftkoo and borahebangtan are some of my favorites 💜
@@MinSugaCheonjae they r a good starting point and get the message, vibe, story of the songs across so they served their part for what is worth. but I get why it's a nitpick of yours because I also want people new to bts to experience their amazing spectacular lyricism as it is without language barrier/bad translations (which this series is far from but again could be a bit better) getting in the way. So yeah sorry for rambling friend 😭🫂
You said "Suga's" but I hope you saw that it was Hobi's verse (Hobi is j-hope...idk if that's what the confusion was?) that set the tone for Mic Drop. Mic Drop is one of the songs in their discography that has Hobi all over it. Like Dis-ease and Baepsae. Mic Drop started with Hobi's lyrics and tone, not Suga's.
Next Reaction, a shop for killers, has 8 episodes. The series follows the story of a nineteen-year-old girl named Jeong Ji-An, who inherits a shopping mall after her uncle's mysterious death. However, she becomes the target of elite assassins who are after her.
After this please check out Ddaeng its the best diss track ever. Check the explanation video of that song by DKDK tv too because the song uses a lot of cultural references
i hope you guys could also watch *Mouse* 2021 starring Lee Seung Gi kdrama psychological crime thriller genre. it is rated 8.7/10 in IMDB and 9.6/10 in Viki
Ugh.......... I can't with close minded people. They want to stay in their own little world. well then do it quietly. Your babble is too loud for others. " Haters you should love yourself " at the end of the day, the real reason why you hate is because you hate yourself, haters. It's self-projection. If you are pointing out someone's look, it's because you think yourself as ugly or insecure about your look so you are dissing other people's look. I am so sad that this series do not have the 2020 era. It was THE BEST. that's when I became Army. I never was into any boy group or any singer or group ever or actor whatever this much. It's a rabbit hole. Please watch MMA 2018 MMA 2019 MMA 2020 BTS
I've watch this series so many times and at first I really loved it and I still see it's value but I feel like a person could watch the whole series and walk away not knowing how integral j-hope is to the music creation and performance. You haven't really seen anything about his leadership role in the practice room and there are hundreds of examples of him directing performances and leading practices. And compared to the coverage of RM and Suga, you haven't seen a fraction of that for j-hope's songwriting. He's been writing since pre-debut and has just a dozen or so less credits than Suga and more production credits than RM. It's just unfortunate that new fans who come to know BTS through this won't really see how j-hope is one of the three musical pillars of the group (according to Bang PD). And, as a team known for their dance and performance, not highlighting how hard j-hope had to work to get them there seems like a big omission in their story too. I guess I noticed it here because they showed RM talking about the creation of Mic Drop and buried the fact that j-hope really set the tone for the song in the deleted scenes and then they showed that interview with Mr. Son but didn't include the part where he talked about j-hope's role as Captain. But it's really consistent throughout the series. It's a shame, I think. I hope you guys will just know and understand j-hope's significant contributions to the success of BTS as a songwriter/composer/producer and Dance and Performance Leader despite the lack of mention of that in this series.
