These two never stop contributing to the memory of Chris Farley. That tells me more then any obituary or dedication ever could about how well they knew and loved him.
For me it's because I wanted to be on it SO fukcing bad, so I'd watch as many as I could as a kid. And now hearing them talk about it feels like you're listening to old buddies talk about the good old days.
Princess Diana, Chris Farley and 9/11 are deaths/moments where i remember everything where i was, what i was doing etc when it happened, like everything went in slow motion for a while
They did give him a show once before this on Comedy Central back in early to mid 2000s if I remember correctly bc I remember watching bc I’ve always been a fan of his & Sandler 👍🏻
If Farley were around today, and sober, I bet he would be doing something like hosting his own hilarious but deeply honest podcast. Because everyone loves him, and having his own unique past life experiences, I bet he’d be able to disarm his guests and get some great, real, conversations. It would be the second half of his career where he shines more for his talent without the physical comedy.
I heard the word road the other day and immediately said ro-ad like Farley in Tommy Boy. Then I realized I've been doing that for the past 20odd years. Thank you for the memories Spade.
In my opinion, Spade's "Hollywood Minute" was hands down the funniest reoccurring bit on Weekend Update. Opera man was funny and Stefan was cute but damn that Hollywood Minute was always my favorite.
I'm glad that to this day they still talk about and remember Farley! I never knew the guy, but I'll always remember him. Also, what a coincidence that they filmed this on the anniversary of his death.
The writing and cast on SNL during the 90's was leaps and bounds and miles better than SNL today. Nowadays, they hire Harvard grad non-comedians into the writers room...people with no performing or stand up ability. They have bland people like Colin Jost, someone who is less funny than any rando off the street. The 90's cast of SNL was filled with people that were unique and could entirely hold their own and their own comedic merits and take what's on the page and make it funny with their own characters...something that's greatly missing now.
They got too political and too politically correct. It’s gone downhill. I’m surprised it’s even on still. Music used to be good too. Now it’s rappers etc.
It's always disappointing when the host brings up a picture of an old character, and everyone cheers because they love that character. And you hope they'll spontaneously break out a line from that character's repertoire, but instead they just go, "Haha yup. Yep, there he is." I only say that because I just watched a video with David Spade interviewing Jim Carrey before this one, and he did the same thing when David brought up Jim's classic characters like Ace Ventura and The Mask.
Glad to see Spade has had such a long career, he also has made several series so much funnier, where, if he wasn’t on them, don’t think they would have lasted as long. Great in Curb, so funny!
The Israelites thought that the tallow from Farley's body would only last for one year as they rebuilt the Temple...but it lasted for 22 years! And that is the story of 90's SNL.
@@OLLIE-ILL that was the other route I was going to take but he would seriously rip celebs on the minute. His cc show is more playful. He could even go political if he doesn't want to scare guests off, just rip politicians. Do away with the almost political
@@steveconn how can you be sure? Anyway he has writers, im sure between the current political situation and their Collective Minds put together they can find some way to rip on politicians
SNL never talks about who wrote which skit. I wish they would. I guess they consider it gauche since everything is a "collaboration" It's nice to know David wrote Gap girls and the losers trying to get laid skit, which is great.
Funny that they were considered the B team on SNL. After Carvey, Hartman, Nealon and Lovitz left the show, it got so terrible they fired EVERYONE except Norm and Spade.
I remember this Skid Row / Gap Girls skit. It would not have worked with Nirvana at all. Credit to Skid Row for lampooning their image, but Kurt was very definitely a feminist and wouldn't have presented himself as a misogynist even for a joke.
When Netflix posted every SNL season to the 00's, immediately I eagerly hit 90-95. Every episode. As I was 5 in 95, I didn't understand everything so imagine my reaction when I discovered that the bumbling big guy was a homeless drug addict.. btw even with no reference point I enjoyed Matt Foley so much that it was etched in my brain. Farley's material was layered and played with any demographic. It took 20 years for that joke to land, imagine my excitement.
The rediculous six was about the only movie that Adam has been in for some time that I thought was really good, the grown ups, movies were fun to watch just because if had so many of them together, but he just don't seem that much into the rolls of the characters, not like in his youth,I wasn't a big fan of his on SNL,but his earlier movies were great,David Spade is always funny, but the last few movies Adam has stared in just seemed like he was just there and for me didn't really deliver,in his defense he is playing older characters,so maybe it's just me being partial to his youth.
These two never stop contributing to the memory of Chris Farley. That tells me more then any obituary or dedication ever could about how well they knew and loved him.
Erlyk Dalkien you said that perfectly
Yes and I could listen to their Farley stories all day. They never get old.
Obituary? You need a dictionary
I don't know why I like it when veteran SNL cast member's talk about their time on the show.
Cause it feels like your own buddies back in school chatting.
Cuz that was when it was good. Now its lame.
it’s so fascinating to watch them reminisce on the past it’s great
For me it's because I wanted to be on it SO fukcing bad, so I'd watch as many as I could as a kid. And now hearing them talk about it feels like you're listening to old buddies talk about the good old days.
Because you are really unhappy with your life
Man, Farley's death hit us like a ton of bricks in the 90s. Kids today have no idea how much of a rockstar that cast was.
Princess Diana, Chris Farley and 9/11 are deaths/moments where i remember everything where i was, what i was doing etc when it happened, like everything went in slow motion for a while
Soooo much talent packed into a small cast!
5 months after farley, phil hartman was murdered. rough.
That was dream team.
This was one of the best crews to be on SNL. I miss watching in the early 90's. You never knew what was going to happen.
I’ve heard all these stories 100 times yet they never get old.
God bless the 90s golden age of TV.
I don’t care what people say about Sandler, he’s a stand up (no pun intended) guy and someone you want on your side.
Love this. 🙌❤️
How do you know?
Well he's definitely NOT an Actor!!!
Dude I just love this format. Spade should have had his own shows years ago. 🤙🏽
just shoot me then
He was great in "Just Shoot Me" and "Rules of Engagement"
He is killing in this format
They did give him a show once before this on Comedy Central back in early to mid 2000s if I remember correctly bc I remember watching bc I’ve always been a fan of his & Sandler 👍🏻
I could watch hours of them telling stories about the SNL days. Great stuff.
He calls him davey and he also calls conan coney
How you do'in, Sumey? 🤣
Calls norm normey
He calls Bradley “bradley-ey”
cosa nostra someone's mad 😂
cosa nostra lmao he still makes in a stupid movie more than you’d make in a year perhaps a life time
lay off me, I'm starving!!!
This is like the cool version of old dudes talking about their glory days on the football field
Too bad someone doesn't come along with a cool version of your comment
Best cast of Saturday Night live for my timeline anyways. Lots of talent came out of that class
Actually kinda sweet when Sandler calls him "Davey" at 2:35
Nick Esquer he always does throughout the entire talk they had he calls him Davey.
I think you and Sandler should do an entire documentary where you tell fantastic stories like these! Truly wonderful and hilarious
These behind the scenes factoids are gold. Love em.
I love how David does Adam's weird voices lol
David Spade always a great story teller, writer, and had the best poker face (as could be possible) during the skit w/ Farley about a van by the river
So many great memories in my teen years brought about by these SNL cast members. A heartfelt thank you.
Gap Girls was great. I still remember the snotty expression on Ron Schnieder's character's face. So perfect.
I can listen to these guys for hours lol.
This show needs to come back. One of the best in this format ever.

He’d be Tim Dillon.
Sandler and Farley : " for the love of God, let the boy sleep in your bed !"
I LOVED Gap Girls!!! Ahhhhhh ❤️❤️
I need the SNL skit they mentioned with Michael J Fox sounds hilariousss
The Greatness of Farley.!
🙏🏽May he Rest In Peace... in a van down by the river.🙏🏽

Actually that line's from Black Sheep.
Black sheep
My baaaaad.
Farley will live on and just like the Mens warehouse guy”I guarantee it”.
I can get a guarantee by sticking my head up a bull's ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.
In my opinion, Spade's "Hollywood Minute" was hands down the funniest reoccurring bit on Weekend Update. Opera man was funny and Stefan was cute but damn that Hollywood Minute was always my favorite.
It’s really funny
Same!!
A Gap Girls skit with Nirvana would have been gold!
Sandler is sounding more like the Cajun Man the older he gets
david spade kinda looks like flanders on the simpsons
Adam could play a live action homer.
Haha he does!
Enjoy life gentleman 💸🎶💁🏼♂️
You earned it
David's Spades' show is a fucking hit. Honestly best thing Comedy Central has going for it
I love that picture of the three of them at the end. To have a friendship like theirs.
i love watching you guys together. makes me proud to be American and to have lived in a time when you guys mades us all laugh. 💯
I'm glad that to this day they still talk about and remember Farley! I never knew the guy, but I'll always remember him. Also, what a coincidence that they filmed this on the anniversary of his death.
R.i.p. Chris Farley funniest ever thanks Dave you brought the best out of him definitely all legends
Farley was incredible. And so was Hartman, even though no one really seems to give tribute to him.
Evan Fields, Hartman = comic genius. I get teary eyed.
I always thought Hartman should have done weekly update. He just seems like he would have killed it.
rest in heavenly peace Chris
Gab girls was soooooo funny! My favorite skit ever!!!!!
This Halloween, I went as Crazy Protractor Face.

so like. does anyone else notice that adam sandler has... adam sandler socks on?
that's a AS bit if there ever was one

Sandler went back to bed after this interview.
Omg. RuPaul was just hosting SNL. Would have been hilarious to see him in a sketch with Spade and Sandler as Gap Girls.
Legendary
The skit with David as Michael J. Fox and Fox as Danny Bonaduce was hilarious
Lay off me, I'm starving!
just gimme the candy
Love the show

That was good!
We love you Chris, miss you buddy.
It's so funny to think that Spade wrote that incel skit with Michael J Fox. Humor that was really ahead of its time.
davids show needs some of those crazy skits. js.
There’s no way they’re really this nice to each other. Unless they’re sleeping together. 😂
They’re too much alike.
These guys are Gangsta
Damn back when SNL was good!
When we watched it back then, you had people saying the same shit
Awesome
Adam’s 🧦 too cute 😆

Chris Farley. Was that tommy boy?

Uncut gems 💎 was a good movie has a lot of intense parts
That was the best SNL has ever been.
This and the first cast.
In good luck chuck; was it a reference to SNL when his character wore the vampire outfit despite chuck just being an apple? Thoughts
Eddie returned and now people remember what SNL used to be.
Dave, come on, Upload that SNL sketch it must be the funniest thing

Spade looks like he's trying to transform into Willford Brimley
Well then what kind of stuff does Apatow lie about?
let's get an Opera Man Movie!
Member when things were fun?
Yeah I member.
I love this
same audience for dress rehearsal and live? cant be right? if so, then duh, of course not same reaction...why dont more shows do this...fans love this
Not the same audience for dress and live show.

David I like your skateboarding and Adam I enjoyed Uncut Gems. #deservedtobekilled
The Sandman !!! 👍
Now gimme some candy
Skid Row kicked ass on that episode
I dress like a slob to show you what a regular guy I am
Why wouldn't Nirvana want to make out with those guys? I don't get it. :)

Of course the second round wouldn’t get a huge response.. they know the skit already
They bring in a new audience for the second show.

irolz...cause you knew him personally? You *know* Kurt Cobain's sense of humor? 🙄🙄
That era of SNL will always be my favorite. Then Will Ferrell joined and acted like a cheerleader and it's been crap since.
Adam looks stoned or depressed to be there
