I think that first one is absolutely the way to do a van conversion, at least it is for my requirements. I think a big advantage with having the bed go up and down like that is that you can raise it up to the maximum height and this gives you good access to the stuff under the bed. I would want to keep bicycles in the van and as they are about a metre high then it is reasonable to sleep in the bed above them. When it comes to getting them out you could raise the bed up so that you can get them out more easily. There are a few manufactures doing this with van conversions.
I wish the Canadian market was more like yours. Here the focus on travel trailers, so its hard to get a decent deal on a van conversion. Not to mention you never get to walk through a new model.
Loved the last one particularly. A bed in the roof on a van is pretty awesome. Love those shower/wardrobes too. I know they aren’t new but nonetheless they’re clever.
It doesn't matter how nice this van is, if you want one you're going to have to wait a long time and put in a lot of work to achieve it. I rang every single agent in Spain where I live and got no response from any of them. I have the funds available, but they are just not interested. A friend of mine also wants the D60 and, after being more patient than I am he actually got to speak to an agent who told him he would have to wait at least 12 months for delivery. I am now looking at other manufacturers.
When I say copy it, I mean specifically the rear garage section with elevating bed. There are many excellent van conversion companies that will happily design the interior to your design. My friends have done exactly this and the result is amazing, cost: 65k€ time: 6 months. In my naivety I was hoping to find a ready to go solution, which I thought I'd found in the D60. Apparently not
@@danpos1 I always tell people to get things built to order but demand is such at present that I only know one company that could build in less than one year. If you want something ready made and now, you need to buy something second hand.
How about a 636cm van with a normal transverse bed and a bigger kitchen with more bench space and decent size half dinette. Every 636 van you show has the same sardine can size kitchen/dining area and whopping great longitudinal double bed with masses of wasted space. Something different please.
D60. It’s a good price even with the superfluous additions (engine upgrade etc), particularly for a couple who want the additional height in the garage during transit for an electric bike or a moped (weight issue?). Do they come in any other colour? Unlike D55 Select which is much nicer. Feels a bit economy in white van man and a shame there are no side windows in the rear. Ingenious separate shower and cupboard in D55 and keeps the water away from the rest of the bathroom
Just the same as this there is Karmann Mobil, Adria, Forster from Trigano, Burstner has something similar but not quite the same and there are probably others too.
I had a motorhome where the electric curtains broke, it could be cranked in manually. It was worse with the electric bed in front. If it did not work in the down position, there was no backup. And no chance to drive home.
I love my Pickup Camper, but maybe my next Rv will be a van. So I am glad for all video of vans. Keep up with the good work young man !
thanks allan ive been looking fore campa van the rear bed lift up enougth so i can get my powered wheelchair inti using a ramp that then folds up

Thanks Alan.
Bicycles lying flat with racing handle bars would take up very little height and be more stable when driving.

I would have no problem driving while the bed is down! 😸

He certainly won't get it in 12 months time unless something major happens. I would be surprised if he got before the summer after next.
@@VanlifewithAlan I guess the way forward is to do what the Chinese are sooo good at, and copy the lay out
@@danpos1 Who is going to copy it Daniel?

Hi Alan , this is my van because I’m a Dreamer . Mauro

All said, I still think the Adria Twin Supreme is still the better van at that price 😆
What was the cost of the D55 Select (2 berth)?
Alan, you read the info but you didn't share it with us the viewers.so how long and how high is it.
A realistic cost.😁👍
What other companies do a garage with drop down bed?
Just the same as this there is Karmann Mobil, Adria, Forster from Trigano, Burstner has something similar but not quite the same and there are probably others too.
Alan Heath Thanks Alan
Hi ALAN. Strangely enough, these seemed quite reasonably priced and not outrageous. Is the truck a Fiat Ducato? Glad all is well. John
Italian 6m PLA Motor home only 38:500 euro though
What is the internal height?
About 185cm.
Alan Heath I’m looking for just under 2 meters 🤷♀️
What happens if electric bed don’t work? Alan
Nothing to do. You sleep in the garage 🙄
@@linhaderesguardo or alternatively somewhere else. I don't know Marilyn - you are stuck!
Better check with the manufakturer. Maybe there's a way to maneuver it if the kontrol doesn't work.

They supply a manual crank handle - I own a D60 Fun.
