    I've got some of those tools (trim router, drill/impact driver, detail sander, installation driver, Packout) and love them all. I would buy them again if I had to.
    Also agree that sticking with one battery platform will limit a person. Sometimes another brand will have a tool that's better or just cheaper. Ryobi is a great line to get into for their fans, small weed whackers, lights, and now their vacs as well. All reasonably priced.

      I happened to have just come from his DeWalt video, and in that one he said the corded router with the fixed base was the router he reached for, with an aside for the trim router. This Milwaukee video was the inverse, but on both he did like the micro adjustment.
      Watching many of his videos, the three things that will impress him are: easy adjustments, fences that stay true, and dust collection.

    I recently picked up that drill/driver combo after having M18 drills/drivers. I was resistant because they are smaller, but it's what I love most about them. Perfect for around the house, too. Have barely picked up the M18 since

      They're crazy. As an electrician I keep those on me with 6.0 batteries. I can go a couple weeks between charges if I'm just doing service stuff, or all day if I'm drilling holes doing a rough-in. Super lightweight, really powerful, and with a handful of various bits that impact handles anything I need

  • @andrewb4584
    @andrewb4584 5 місяців тому

    That random orbital detail sander is also one of my favorite tools. I blamed you when my wife saw the box. :)
    Seriously, the router I purchased, for a project I'm starting in the next few weeks.
    I do a fair amount of metalwork (restore old cars as a side business) their M12 rivet gun and M18 heat shrink gun is also incredible.
    Won't even get into their plumbing, impact, brushless grinders, and drill/driver, lights, and basically everything else. I've had few disappointments with Milwaukee tools, they're not the cheapest, but they're well built and thought out.
    I do have a Makita corded tracksaw, though. Can't justify replacing an already incredible tool.
    Thanks again, love the channel!

    I purchased a 12v Detail Sander after I saw you demonstrate it on the channel. It is the Milwaukee tool I use the most after the Drill and Driver. One big noticeable thing is that it doesn’t cause swelling in your hand after extended use. It’s a great tool, but wished that Home Depot carried the sandpaper in store.

    I don't do much woodworking, I'm more a mechanical person, but this was a great list. I too bought a Bambu X1C with the first print in mind being the newer model Milwaukee install driver insert from that guy you mentioned LOL. Now I'm working on modding some of his designs to fit together in a 21" stacktech box - making a "Common use tools" box for small projects. I also love packout but I'm putting together a Stacktech box specifically for my electrical stuff - that way it's easier to identify. The stacktech definitely seems good, probably not as secure as packout though. I don't care for the stacktech lid's latch system and some of there boxes aren't compatible with one another - which I hope they fix soon.

    Great, honest video Brother. There's more room in my tool arsenal. For cordless and for corded. My primary concern is the tool function and form, and not what team colors they're sporting. Lots of tool makers are making it easier to get onto their respective platforms now. Compared to Milwaukee (and I'm already on both platforms 😎) I'll likely be adding FLEX and SKIL battery platforms to the arsenal as well this year. Gotta couple buddies that swear by FLEX. I wouldn't ever go as far as replacing ALL my cordless stuff with just one brand or platform, unless they're buying.
    I think SKIL's Power core line has promise. I've watched them be put through their paces.
    My intentions don't end there, I'm tired and I need to get to bed.🤓😎🤠

    Question. Been remodeling for decades. Switched from Ridgid to DeWalt about 8 years ago. Have 2 DW impact guns. Also have the Mikita 10V impact and drill from 10 years ago. Amazing they are still alive. Talk about a small light weight hand tool for removing screws around the job. Just purchased the M12 fuel combo. It fits into a small bag with the saw. BUT they are just about as heavy as the DeWalt. What concerns me is the impact has a slight jump in the trigger as I accelerate the speed from very slow causing bit to jump off screws if I don't concentrate. I really wanted to like these brand new tools. Regretting I didn't get the SURGE. Is it just my tool? I notice most folks just pulse the trigger to dial down the speed, even many video producers. Not me if I can help it.

  • @ElClaudio

    The hack to not buy into a whole new battery and charger ecosystem is by overcoming our basic fear of adaptors. I dipped my toe with the Ryobi nail gun that you recommended, and instead of getting the whole kit I just bought a Makita to Ryobi thingy that opened a whole new world of tools to me. After that, I didn't think twice about buying the multitool and I probably will end up getting a Ryobi jigsaw and blower too, without a single Ryobi battery in sight. I know these are not "official" so you might not want to mention them in your channel, but they're out there, and they sure help save a lot of money.

    I've been a Milwaukee fan for years and years and have lots and lots of M18 batteries. When I needed a new drill and driver for my RV I went down and purchased a new M18 drill and a new M18 driver. When I got them home and tried to use them, the runout was so bad that I could not drill a round hole with the drill or keep a phillips screw engaged with the driver. I wrote to Milwaukee and explained what happened and asked what their runout specs were. They never even bothered to respond. The Milwaukee tools went back to the store and I purchased a makita driver instead. Much smoother than the newer Milwaukee tools. This is the second time that I've been burned by a Milwaukee design change where the old tool works perfectly while the new tool is unusable. Not sure there is a lot of red in my future, given the problems that I've had.

    The Milwaukee Oscillating Tool is by far the biggest gap between the competition of any tool I've used. Cuts twice as fast as any other brand. The side to side action is way more than anyone else and you can't stop it.

    Metabo HPT 18V compacts.have best ergonomics and u can get a kit for $100 with two batteries

    I think the Fuel line has taken the 12 volt line of tools into a decently powered line of tools, where 18 volt is not needed. A YT channel evaluated 18v oscillating tools, and Milwaukee did not have the M18 Fuel model out yet. So they wanted them to evaluate the M12 Fuel Oscillating tool in their evaluation. The M12 beat the others in many categories.

    If you want the best impact driver in the world.... Look at the Milwaukee Surge impact driver. It's quiet, low vibration and scary fast. If you are not ready it will sink a screw 1/2 below the surface before you blink. It has 3 speed settings for this reason. I love my 4 in one. Had it about 3 years. Powerful and very useful. Love the grinder also. The quick change guard is awesome. I use it a lot with flapper discs and sanding discs to remove material fast. • @budcushman4408
      @budcushman4408 5 місяців тому +1

      Milwaukee and DeWalt tracks are not interchangeable. The DeWalt track is two-sided, allowing you to run the saw in either direction. The theory, I think is to allow you to set up one side for a 90-degree cut and the other side for a bevel cut. You can't add the TSO square attachment to a DeWalt track either.

    • @timmietimmins3780
      @timmietimmins3780 5 місяців тому

      This is standard. You actually have to center the base plate on a trim router every time you install or remove it.
      In fact, it's WHY a lot of base plates aren't round. Because then at least, you can use the flat side against a fence, and because the tool cannot rotate, the distance from the fence remains constant.
      But yeah, I think it is a giant noob trap that they provide it stock with a round base (thought I think makita does too, but I can't recall as I have mine on a plunge base).

    • @andrewr2650

      The Kreg is tough to rank because its somewhat unique. There are a large number of track saws that all have their controls laid out basically the same and the tracks are interchangeable. Then the are a few others like Kreg and Dewalt which are setup a little different, also their tracks are not interchangeable with the other brands. None of that is specifically a bad thing, but something to keep in mind.

    I dont have the numbers to compare it to a table saw, but as an industrial pipe fitter, angle grinders can and will mess you and your day up if you’re not careful.
