I recently looked at 20 cheap knock-off of popular kids tunes (you can watch that video here: • How to Avoid a Lawsuit... ), and it got me curious.
Turns out there's quite a number of these "covers" albums that present themselves as the genuine article - until you look in the booklet and in very small writing it says "songs all played by XXX". Also found a few that do include the real versions of theme tunes (including www.amazon.co.... and www.amazon.co....) which makes me wonder why these knock-off releases even exist. It surely can't be cheaper to re-record them than just purchase the rights? I don't know, I'm not an expert.
ANYWAY, this one is one of the better "unofficial" albums. The guy who recorded and performed the songs here actually does a great job for the most part!
I just find it intriguing and funny to hear these "alternate versions" of tunes everyone knows so well and I hope you will too!
