I remember watching Batman Beyond as a kid and thinking how inconsistent the strength and protection of the batsuit was. In some instances, Terry could lift boulders and tank huge impacts, yet he could also falter from the punch of your average goon. Not to mention, during his fight with joker-fied Tim Drake, he had Terry pinned on the ground with a table and his own body weight. Terry should have been able to effortlessly lift both.

I also enjoyed the series, super hero writers have a tendency to care more about what is "awesome" more than what makes sense. A certain amount of "suspension of disbelief" is necessary to not get frustrated.
That upset me as a kid. I would be watching and see a group of no names and think, " okay just a little bit of crime fighting to open the episode", but no he would get his ass kicked and I would be so confused why the futuristic and all around better batsuit provided less protection and offense than the first one ever made. It really under cut the power of the suit for me.
I know that it applies to much media, but it still bothers me. Kirby can survive super novas and lightspeed but will die after touching a few fuzzy or fungal enemies.

Mark God but still, seems like a horrible handicap. We have a guy on a day of the dead costume vs a guy in an extremely advanced stealth combat suit made by Batman. It’s like putting you in a leather jacket and putting you up against a guy wearing power armor from Fallout.

I love death battles but this was the fastest fight by far. 2 minutes only, even DBX has faster battles, and those have NO RULES NO RESEARCH, this would have been a fine DBX not a death battle.
This fight could have gone either ways. However, this fight was executed poorly. I don't mind Batman winning, but for Christ's sake, come up with a reasonable way for him to win.
The animation is not a representation of a 1 to 1 'this is what would really happen' dealie, it's meant to be for entertainment. Plus I believe that those Batarangs had Thermite in them which, if you're not familiar, really freaking strong stuff. But yeah, don't take the animation so literally, the only thing that really 'matters' is that you're entertained and that the winner wins.
Does he usually have those on his quiver? Because I think they used the ones that he most consistantly uses, otherwise we'd be seeing the Cat Arrow or the Donut Arrow or something.
Yeah Peter could probably stomp on Terry but not going to lie I'm convinced it'd be a closer fight then against Bruce. Oh and Bruce in his prime but in the Batman Beyond suit, I think that could beat Spiderman OG

Miguel has superior combat speed and would literally rip his throat out with his talons if he were out for blood. Also his accelerated vision let's him perceive objects in slow motion so this would be a very hard win for Terry.
Does no one on this team communicate? Why do you mention Terry using the shocksuit against Lyla's hacking, when nothing like that happened? Same with "Bruce's guidance allowing Terry to take advantage of Miguel's eyesight" when Bruce said NOTHING about it? Christ, I wanted Batman to win, but not by "lol I blowed him up"

I'm not saying he never used them, I'm saying the fight is inconsistent with what they said after the fight. They said in the post-fight that Terry used it in this fight because of "Bruce's guidance", which implies Bruce told Terry to try a flashbang or something similar at some point, when it just a lucky choice of Terry's.
So... Spiderman 2099 couldn't get close enough to use his venom to bite Batman Beyond when he got close? But Terry can place a bomb on him. If his sight and hearing so powerful would he HEAR bruce tell Terry to "Get in close and finish him." And prepare for the attack? Im pretty sure his suit would be prepared to counter if a flash bang went off in front of him. Because of his sensitive eyes. Also, just how strong is this bomb if his suit can take a artillery cannon? No use of the projectors either.

Plus, Strange has a knack for improvisation, the dude just makes up new spells on the fly and works around his opponents, rather than just eradicating them the way Fate would.

Wow, that was surprisingly quick. Not to mention rather incredibly underwhelming. I was hoping that the fight would be more epic and would take more advantage of both of their abilities and powers. Instead it was rather sluggish looking and went by too soon. Not really one of the better battles in recent memory. And it’s bad enough that it would end up feeling like those annoying Blue Apron ads ended up becoming longer than some of the ACTUAL fights.
Keiji Johnson that’s the main problem I have with this channel sometimes, they list all these cool abilities of each fighter but then never have either character use said abilities in the actual fight. I know that they probably just want a flashy battle that’s to the point but I can’t help but be underwhelmed when they don’t put a characters abilities to use.
The Coolest That’s not the case in all of the more recent fights. The ones with T.J. Combo and Balrog, Thor and Wonder Woman, and even Naruto and Ichigo for the most part had the fighters using their majority of their abilities rather well, resulting in some impressive flashy battles. Well, for the most part on Ichigo’s end in that last example, as he essentially cost himself the battle for using the Final GestugaTenshou. This fight was anything but flashy. In fact, the fight between Mewtwo and Shadow was more flashy than this and that one had an equally anticlimactic fight as well.
I get the feeling that this episode was a little phoned-in. Normally with pairs that seem as evenly matched at a cursory glance as this one would get a more detailed examination during the first half of the video to give the audience a better idea of where each combatant's advantages and weaknesses are relative to their opponent's. In the case of Thor vs. Wonder Woman, the audience was shown that because the combatants seemed to be so equally matched, the contest would boil down to versatility versus endurance with a deciding factor of speed buried in the details. Thor and Wonder Woman were not only examined, but compared to one another to give the audience a chance to suss out the match for themselves. In this video's examination stage the audience was given very few details at all, leaving several information gaps, and even a couple of key comparisons were withheld until after the fight. Nothing in either combatant's examination was given enough emphasis, either. By the time the fight was supposed to start, I had no idea whether Batman Beyond and Spiderman-2099 were so evenly matched that the math was meaningless and thus largely left out or one had such a stupidly specific advantage that bringing it up would have ruined all sense of tension or something. Then, in most other videos, the fight itself would be choreographed to showcase what precisely allowed one combatant to win over the other. In Wonder Woman's case, it was her speed and atom-splitting sword that gave her the win, and the fight's conclusion reflected that. Here, because of the aforementioned information gaps the fight's conclusion was confusing at best, and entirely underwhelming. Was it Miguel's sensitivity to light and sound? Terry's versatile arsenal? Well, turns out it was a lot of stuff that wasn't emphasized enough in the earlier half and the factors that were given more detail were ultimately meaningless. The AI that was given a lot of time? The Bat Computer clearly has defenses for that, they just weren't worth mentioning. The fact that Terry wasn't nearly as smart as his predecessor? Doesn't really matter since Miguel had no combat training. It felt like a series of cop-outs, almost like the information gaps in the first half were created intentionally to fabricate tension for the second half that wouldn't really exist otherwise. I agree with the outcome and the supporting evidence (once I got it all, that is), but I have to say that the way this one was presented left me very disappointed.
Talimara1 I half to say I'm impressed by the time and effort you put into your comment and how passionate it is, I really don't have anything to say I just read your comment agreed with it, and overall thought it was really nice and wanted to say something 😁. Except the part where you agree about the outcome of the fight, and I don't really know anything about these characters except what I vaguely remember about this video, I just personally think Spiderman would win (probably because I like him more than Batman) I don't have a problem if Batman winning was objective but Spiderman winning is just gonna be my head cannon if that is/was the case.
I think part of the issue here is that neither of these characters have as much information about them as their mainstream counterparts, they're in relatively much smaller series, so there's so much less reference material than is typically available.

Though at of all the Batmen I definitely prefer Batman Beyond, I like how giddy it is not that the other ones weren't just to my knowledge there wasn't really any griddy Batman shows like Batman Beyond, and if you wanted anything like that you half to read the comics.

Durability isn’t controlled by an AI, it comes with the suit’s material-unstable molecules-which is nearly invincible in Marvel. How does Terry immediately know about Miguel’s Photosensitivity? *And Flying Speed =/= combat speed. The video’s assessment was stupid beyond words.*

Rafael, and vice versa. Everyone keeps mentioning Miguels "upgraded" suit. They used stats for that suit, stating that Miguel could tank howitzer shells with it, then applied that to the fight. They just used his typical look. So stop bringing it up. It WAS used. Also his added holographics arent going to deceive Batmans HUD in anyway so they'd be useless in this fight

SirTalksAlot 1. wand magic in Potterverse is extremely limited, be stripped of your wand and you would have to fight like a muggle. wandless magic is rare but mostly uncontrollable (not like in crappy fanfic) 2. In a real non death battle meet up they probably wouldn’t try and kill each other. Bruce would definitely tell him not to kill 2099 as their goal is fight crime and killing a fellow vigilante wouldn’t help with that goal also that far into the future knowledge of a vigilante that leaves proof he exists by killing would spread fast so they would know he’s on their side

(Hence Miguel using claws to climb and Peter just sticking to the walls.) So while they are indeed similar, it wouldn't be a good idea to scale them to one another without relevant feats to back it up.

The storyline with Miguel reviving Cap, lifting Mjolrnir and leading and age of peace, is highly underrated and something we need to see in live action 😱

This fight kind of already took place in the comics ;-) In Hickmans New Avengers the team faces "the not-Justice League" and Dr Strange beats "not Dr Fate". Dr Strange does have feats that could suprise you :) .

I get what you mean but you're taking that chase scene out of context as while Miles DID outmaneuver Miguel as he had to get away from him because miles obviously can't beat Miguel in a fight, Miles didn't "outsmart" him at all, Miles was able to outmaneuver Miguel because things were VERY chaotic with all the hundreds of spider-people chasing after him and slamming into each other and Miles was able to slip past them through all the chaos and he got help along the way. It was various things on how Miles was able to slip past Miguel, it wasn't just him alone. Miles is skilled and talented FOR SURE but he clearly still needed help with that scenario from how crazy it all was.

Yeah, i never felt that the fighters got to break out their full potential and i think it ended just as it was about to climax. The best battles typically have the characters unleashing their greatest powers, weapons and abilities as the battle peaks, but i feel this one ended just before that happend. Spidey unleashing his claws and full brute strenght countered by Bats strenght and skill would have been a decent climax, which could have been nicely punctuated by the flashbang and explosives. And now i have mentioned peak and climax so many times that i cant help but think of this fight as a premature ejaculation.
I love how they don't bring up the fact Spider Man 2099 in his new suit can tank being DISINTEGRATED at the molecular level when he fought Lash the Inhuman. He's also fought people with sonic weapons and survived a GIANT SPACE LASER that destroyed the building he was near which collapsed on top of him which HE SURVIVED. I can't help but feel they are downplaying Miguel here.
Well, this is going to be a weird recommendation but... how about Foot Soldiers (TMNT 87) VS Putty Patrol (MMPR)? Why them? I don't know, it might be kinda fun to see two of the dumbest villain armies duke it out.
That sounds hilarious, but I'mma have to give it to the putties. Even the basic ones are quite a bit tougher than normal humans (in terms of durability, at any rate), while the Foot are natural human beings with all the vulnerabilities thereof.

Not really, the actual Spiderman's strength level is 25 tons max (as listed by Marvel). He rarely crosses this limit unless there's some extreme motivation.

The animation is not a representation of a 1 to 1 'this is what would really happen' dealie, it's meant to be for entertainment. Plus I believe that those Batarangs had Thermite in them which, if you're not familiar, really freaking strong stuff. But yeah, don't take the animation so literally, the only thing that really 'matters' is that you're entertained and that the winner wins.

Miguel has superior combat speed and would literally rip his throat out with his talons if he were out for blood. Also his accelerated vision let's him perceive objects in slow motion so this would be a very hard win for Terry.

I'm not saying he never used them, I'm saying the fight is inconsistent with what they said after the fight. They said in the post-fight that Terry used it in this fight because of "Bruce's guidance", which implies Bruce told Terry to try a flashbang or something similar at some point, when it just a lucky choice of Terry's.

So... Spiderman 2099 couldn't get close enough to use his venom to bite Batman Beyond when he got close? But Terry can place a bomb on him. If his sight and hearing so powerful would he HEAR bruce tell Terry to "Get in close and finish him." And prepare for the attack? Im pretty sure his suit would be prepared to counter if a flash bang went off in front of him. Because of his sensitive eyes. Wow, that was surprisingly quick. Not to mention rather incredibly underwhelming. I was hoping that the fight would be more epic and would take more advantage of both of their abilities and powers. Instead it was rather sluggish looking and went by too soon. Not really one of the better battles in recent memory. And it’s bad enough that it would end up feeling like those annoying Blue Apron ads ended up becoming longer than some of the ACTUAL fights.
Keiji Johnson that’s the main problem I have with this channel sometimes, they list all these cool abilities of each fighter but then never have either character use said abilities in the actual fight. I know that they probably just want a flashy battle that’s to the point but I can’t help but be underwhelmed when they don’t put a characters abilities to use.
The Coolest That’s not the case in all of the more recent fights. The ones with T.J. Combo and Balrog, Thor and Wonder Woman, and even Naruto and Ichigo for the most part had the fighters using their majority of their abilities rather well, resulting in some impressive flashy battles. Well, for the most part on Ichigo’s end in that last example, as he essentially cost himself the battle for using the Final GestugaTenshou. This fight was anything but flashy. In fact, the fight between Mewtwo and Shadow was more flashy than this and that one had an equally anticlimactic fight as well.

I get the feeling that this episode was a little phoned-in. Normally with pairs that seem as evenly matched at a cursory glance as this one would get a more detailed examination during the first half of the video to give the audience a better idea of where each combatant's advantages and weaknesses are relative to their opponent's. In the case of Thor vs. Wonder Woman, the audience was shown that because the combatants seemed to be so equally matched, the contest would boil down to versatility versus endurance with a deciding factor of speed buried in the details.
Thor and Wonder Woman were not only examined, but compared to one another to give the audience a chance to suss out the match for themselves. In this video's examination stage the audience was given very few details at all, leaving several information gaps, and even a couple of key comparisons were withheld until after the fight. Nothing in either combatant's examination was given enough emphasis, either. By the time the fight was supposed to start, I had no idea whether Batman Beyond and Spiderman-2099 were so evenly matched that the math was meaningless and thus largely left out or one had such a stupidly specific advantage that bringing it up would have ruined all sense of tension or something.
Then, in most other videos, the fight itself would be choreographed to showcase what precisely allowed one combatant to win over the other. In Wonder Woman's case, it was her speed and atom-splitting sword that gave her the win, and the fight's conclusion reflected that. Here, because of the aforementioned information gaps the fight's conclusion was confusing at best, and entirely underwhelming. Was it Miguel's sensitivity to light and sound? Terry's versatile arsenal? Well, turns out it was a lot of stuff that wasn't emphasized enough in the earlier half and the factors that were given more detail were ultimately meaningless. The AI that was given a lot of time? The Bat Computer clearly has defenses for that, they just weren't worth mentioning. The fact that Terry wasn't nearly as smart as his predecessor? Doesn't really matter since Miguel had no combat training. It felt like a series of cop-outs, almost like the information gaps in the first half were created intentionally to fabricate tension for the second half that wouldn't really exist otherwise.
I agree with the outcome and the supporting evidence (once I got it all, that is), but I have to say that the way this one was presented left me very disappointed.

Except the part where you agree about the outcome of the fight, and I don't really know anything about these characters except what I vaguely remember about this video, I just personally think Spiderman would win (probably because I like him more than Batman) I don't have a problem if Batman winning was objective but Spiderman winning is just gonna be my head cannon if that is/was the case.
I think part of the issue here is that neither of these characters have as much information about them as their mainstream counterparts, they're in relatively much smaller series, so there's so much less reference material than is typically available.

Though at of all the Batmen I definitely prefer Batman Beyond, I like how giddy it is not that the other ones weren't just to my knowledge there wasn't really any griddy Batman shows like Batman Beyond, and if you wanted anything like that you half to read the comics.

There’s a lot of information out there for 2099 that just wasn’t utilized in the fight. Also, The real problem is that the conclusion doesn’t add up. Durability isn’t controlled by an AI, it comes with the suit’s material-unstable molecules-which is nearly invincible in Marvel. How does Terry immediately know about Miguel’s Photosensitivity? *And Flying Speed =/= combat speed. The video’s assessment was stupid beyond words.*

Bruce would definitely tell him not to kill 2099 as their goal is fight crime and killing a fellow vigilante wouldn’t help with that goal also that far into the future knowledge of a vigilante that leaves proof he exists by killing would spread fast so they would know he’s on their side

(Hence Miguel using claws to climb and Peter just sticking to the walls.) So while they are indeed similar, it wouldn't be a good idea to scale them to one another without relevant feats to back it up.

I get what you mean but you're taking that chase scene out of context as while Miles DID outmaneuver Miguel as he had to get away from him because miles obviously can't beat Miguel in a fight, Miles didn't "outsmart" him at all, Miles was able to outmaneuver Miguel because things were VERY chaotic with all the hundreds of spider-people chasing after him and slamming into each other and Miles was able to slip past them through all the chaos and he got help along the way. It was various things on how Miles was able to slip past Miguel, it wasn't just him alone. Miles is skilled and talented FOR SURE but he clearly still needed help with that scenario from how crazy it all was.

Yeah I agree, it was super short. Like the first ones they use to do. I was hoping they would have did more. But happy with the results nontheless.
Yeah, i never felt that the fighters got to break out their full potential and i think it ended just as it was about to climax. The best battles typically have the characters unleashing their greatest powers, weapons and abilities as the battle peaks, but i feel this one ended just before that happend.
Spidey unleashing his claws and full brute strenght countered by Bats strenght and skill would have been a decent climax, which could have been nicely punctuated by the flashbang and explosives.
And now i have mentioned peak and climax so many times that i cant help but think of this fight as a premature ejaculation.
Miguel O'Hara is my all time favorite Spider-man. I have cleaned out comic book stores of their entire collections of Spider-man 2099 comics.
I love how they don't bring up the fact Spider Man 2099 in his new suit can tank being DISINTEGRATED at the molecular level when he fought Lash the Inhuman. He's also fought people with sonic weapons and survived a GIANT SPACE LASER that destroyed the building he was near which collapsed on top of him which HE SURVIVED. I can't help but feel they are downplaying Miguel here.

That sounds hilarious, but I'mma have to give it to the putties. Even the basic ones are quite a bit tougher than normal humans (in terms of durability, at any rate), while the Foot are natural human beings with all the vulnerabilities thereof.

Not really, the actual Spiderman's strength level is 25 tons max (as listed by Marvel). He rarely crosses this limit unless there's some extreme motivation.
