Theme From TSW (That's Soul Write)

- Hi again. I was recently looking at a closedown from TSW that used a more pop-influenced version of this piece, and my friend Sam Hodkin found this on the Internet. It's more orchestral and more majestic.
This came from the album "Screen Tested" by The Ed Welch Orchestra, but is written by Wil Malone. This album was released in 1982 by TSW Music Ltd. (a division of ITV, I believe).
No copyright infringement intended. Enjoy!
I don't own any of this.

You've just got to love how vaguely sinister it all is
Memories of good old TSW and of course Westward TV. Happy days and this sort of regional broadcaster is now much missed.
Great! As a disabled carrer from New Milton in Hampshire,From 1982 both TVS and TSW had great pro-mo music. HAPPY DAYS! GOD BLESS!
I actually have a copy of the original album for this on cassette! I must get around to putting it all on UA-cam.
Please do Paul.
Back when ITV actually ment something to British television!
that's the music i used in my sailor jupiter slideshow! :D
Honestly a rare theme for a company and I like it a lot!
Who remembers the 70s series 'Survivors'? The intro to this piece sounds like the opening to the end credits music from that show.
The intro sounds like something written by Angela Morley; it sounds like an outtake from her Watership Down soundtrack.
Back when regional TV and idents had their own style
Nice bass on this one, from an anonymous session player. Not a big fan of the discordant brass though.
endrightwinglunacy I know, right? That's why I prefer the closedown version of this music.
+ERL MAINSTOP !
Kuma Chan Heheh, you're the first person to notice. Fond memories of going to the one in Aldershot when I was a wee lad in the early 80s :)
ERL
I remember the short lived Cornish one [I even saved the carrier bag, still got it !]
Kuma Chan Ah, then no wonder you recognized the logo. I understand there were mugs too. I would love to get my hands on one of those :)
Sounds great! Do you also have the theme to Today South West from 1982, as well?
No, not on me. In fact, this original file didn't come from me. It came from some place called Meldrum PP, that had gone invite only. You can PM my friend Sam Hodkin on Facebook. He'd know.
+Al Welch I have the Today South West theme, from the same TSW themes album Screen Tested. It's been on my to-do list for a while to upload to UA-cam, but I will get round to it one day!
Just curious, is this version of "That's Soul Write" the same one that's on the Screen Tested album? I'm looking for the more rock/pop based one used for closedowns.
This is the one from the album. The one that was used for broadcast is the more rocky one (which I prefer!)
This version is a performance by Ed Welch & His Orchestra, but Ed did not write the ident music. The ident music and the 3 minute closedown version was composed by WIl Malone, that's why it sounded so different on the Screen Tested album to what it sounded like on air. This performance was never used on air.
This is scaredy.
Can I use that as a background?
Sure, why not?
@@LogoMan7777 I planning so much to use it!
Im Still creating now The tv logos as pokemons.
But if didn't about pokemon, You can search it in google
Thanks for appreciating!
