yes but actually no, you just have to know the phrases or sentence that the character is saying for example at 1:23 when that japanese text/sentence appeares it translates to "your opponent is going to beat your previous move" another one at 3:08 the text/sentece that apeared translate to "your opponents thinks/expect youre going to use scissors" this applies if you fight the alpha gang(but sometimes appeares in other fights)when youre fighting the space pirates you have to learn and remember youre opponents attack pattern.
there is this one gameplay mode where you play dino quiz(you can know more about it in my dino quiz gameplay) where you must answer questions which are in japaneses so in order to answer the questions you have to pause and translate, in my dino quiz gameplay i did that and had to pause recording to answer qustion and record again when i know the answer so thats why not many people play that dino quiz mode

Japanese can be difficult to translate if you don’t know what they’re talking about. Did you have hard time on what they say when you first play this?
yep i did have a hard time trying to understand what was being said in japanese but ive got the hanging of it but not all of it
