I'm so glad that you were most impressed with his humility given his other worldly talent. Dimash is the ANTI-DIVA! As an American, I'm so tired of these obnoxious female divas treating others like peasants, or rap artists showing off their $ and gold chains. An incredible artist, with much better talent comes along, and is a breath of fresh air. Now you know why his fans love him so much, and are so protective of him. An important anecdote: He was bamboozled by an American talent show ("World's Best") to come and compete against talented people from around the world. They lied to him and told him there wouldn't be any kid competitors. At the semi-finals it was him against 2 kids, one of them from Kazakhstan. before getting his "marks" from the judges, he quit the show knowing he would have easily won, essentially telling the judges he wants one of the kids to win, and to shove the $1 million prize! That show treated him horribly, the judges made me ashamed to be an American, and they edited his songs in the most horrible way possible. That's the type of person that Dimash is.

In a way, I see the "gift" in the show's debacle; he learned the "worst" of what can come from working with producers in this country; that way, he has been able to prepare himself for the best of what might come, as well as knowing how to deal with huge egos. He handled it masterfully, I feel! And I still can't watch that clip without feeling ill!

Yes! I don't get reactors who are new to Dimash, who can go more than a few days before their next Dimash reaction! More than a week makes me think that they didn't catch the magic. ♡
Dimash Kudaibergen.
Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was found to have perfect pitch. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz, was a major in Vogel technique. He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and receiving his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He has since started his PhD.
He currently has a vocal range of over 6 octaves but he is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of both arrange you have but in fact what you do with it. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan.
He has performed songs in 12 different languages. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh, some Chinese and is pretty good in English and Is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it.
At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in a Chinese singing show for professional singers. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.
He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. He has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances. Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well.
Is vocals range from a rich low baritone to extremely high soprano notes. On at least one occasion he has Hit a D8 in whistle tone for 5 seconds with vibrato.
He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. His concerts are usually about 3 hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres.
He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano. He was offered a position in the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turn this position down to pursue his own path in neoclassical and contemporary music.
He's a multi-instrumentalist, competent on 8 instruments including piano, drums and the native Turk/Kazakhstan two-stringed instrument called a dombra.
As of May 24th, 2021 he will celebrate his 27th birthday. He is most widely known through his live performances that has released several albums the first one going platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in less than an hour.
It has been recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular. He has many millions of fans worldwide which he has designated his "Dears"
He is soft spoken, polite, respectful, elegant and classy, also extremely humble and seldom goes without mentioning his love of country and its history.

I love how you acknowledged his hard work in your reaction! Most people I see just say "well he's just an alien" and I get what they're trying to say but in my opinion, saying that totally dismisses all the hard work he's been doing for his whole life. Kazakhstan is a former USSR country, independent from 1991. The official language is Kazakh, but until 1991 it was Russian, so the whole population is bilingual! During the independence measures, Kazakhstan decided to give up writing with the Cyrillic alphabet specific to the Slavic languages (Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Serbian and others) and move to the Latin alphabet by 2025. Hence the evolution of the name, first from Kudaibergenov to Kudaibergen, the particle ov in Russian meaning male, and ova meaning female. In the second stage he became Qudaibergen because the Kazakh linguists decided that the letter K should be transcribed as Q. Dimash is very attached to his country, he is proud of Kazakh culture and always promotes it by singing a few songs in his mother tongue in each concert and a dressed in traditional national costume often accompanied by instruments specific to his nation! No wonder he defined his own UA-cam channel according to his country's independence requirements! I honestly appreciate his patriotism, for me this is an extra reason to respect!

And I can add that in Instagram, he did not change the spelling. And this is another reason to be proud of him, for me. Because I'm sure that he is being scolded for the "Russian" ending of his last name. He's not giving up yet. I think this is his way of saying thank you to his grandparents, and to all the Russian-speaking culture that he can use (literature, songs, composers and musicians from all the former republics, and so on).

It was written specifically for him by Russian maestro Igor Krutoy (man in white shirt giving standing ovation), and was the opening song at the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus. I offer a little information about the song "Sinful Passion". This song is old. She's over 20 years old. Music by Baigali Serkebayev, and the words to this song were written by the famous contemporary Russian poet Ilya Resnick, author of many Russian music hits The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. At the end of the song, Dimash sang vocals for 22 seconds in one breath. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis

His grandparents moved in with the family to take care of Dimash as his mother us an opera singer and father, a contemporary singer. Apparently it is a Kazakhstan tradition for grandparents care for the first child for ten years, so Dimash us incredibly close to his grandparents and family and at 26, still lives with the extended family when he us in Kazakhstan. His father now manages the career path and Dimash has surrounded himself with his talented family and friends, so he has amazing support. And this is keeping him grounded. His parents are seen in the audience from time to time. And there is footage of Dimash singing on stage with his mother and his father. The grandparents are in the audience and Dimash kneels in front of them, he has so much respect.
You paused while he was still in the runs and missed another key mind-blower. He took a breath, belted out a high note, slid up to an even higher sustained note, did those wicked runs back down, then took another quick breath. That's right. 25 seconds of insanity in ONE BREATH! And his next breath is just a casual quickie.

Dimash is a vocal beast and considered by many as the greatest of all time. I don't even want to tell you how long that last run was, but he obviously has great lung capacity.

His name is written differently because his country is moving from cyrillic alphabet to latin, so the cyrillic letter "қ" was originally transliterated to "K", but linguists have decided that "Q" fits better, hence the official name of his country in latin letters is " Qazaqstan", and his last name is "Qudaibergen". I'm trying to learn some Kazakh and when I finally started to get some kind of control over the cyrillic alphabet I startet with the new latin alphabet. I totally understand the why people question the K/Q but learning Kazakh it makes much sense (just wish they had switchet to the new alphabet already 'cause it's so much easier to learn for us used to latin letters).

@@tuttasb5338 I've tried and tried to get my head round cyrillic, but my brain just goes "nope!" - so to learn the songs, I generally have to fall back on a combination of transliterated and/or romanised lyrics from LyricsTranslate (or even better, fan-made lyric videos that do the same!) and watching Dimash videos, A LOT - a lot, lot, lot, lot lot! Purely for educational reasons, of course...!😉🤗

I have enjoyed your reactions very much! His singing is a wonder of the world. There are many, many videos of interviews with him, going from his childhood to present day, and of his parents and grandparents and teachers. He is always the same. Humble, loving, respectful, intellegent. He respects his teachers and family and always thanks them for his successes. He has said that his goal in life is to be a good human being and a steward for his beloved land. Also, he has a Master's in music and is currently working on his PhD. He is always improving himself. 👉 Dimash Qudaibergen is correct and Димаш Құдайберген also correct. He was first known in Russia and China. There is no Q in the Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet. After his years in China, the following concerts took him mainly to Russia. That is why he wrote his name with K for a long time. Now that he is known worldwide and he has traveled all over the world, his name is written with Q according to the Latin alphabet. 🌼🇩🇪

There are also other interviews available on UA-cam. Another source of information is the Wikipedia article about Dimash. You may need to pull up the English subtitles for the interviews. But some will be in Kazakh or Russian. He just uploaded a beautiful instrumental called "River of Love". Dimash is a multi instrumentalist. In this song he is playing a two stringed instrument called a Dombra, native to Kazakhstan and some surrounding countries. It's beautiful and has over 500,000 views so far in 4 days.
