The videos keep getting better, thank you once again. Viv mentioned that a part of your amazing videos is the fact that you do run late and take detours, it makes the videos and the story unique, not to mention the beautiful sunsets.

Thanks Dim! Haha I’m glad you like the detours ;) we completely agree! The “proper paths” are always way less fun.

Another gorgeous video. Again beautifully tempered, lovely balance between narration and presentation to camera. Lovely use of the sun and general light to create atmosphere that tells and reveals it own story. The short reveal of the play of the light off of the water against the underside of a jetty as you re coasting by on your kayaks, just so pretty. Again the lack of your reliance on just speaking to the camera is so refreshing. Landscapes have so much to say when you have the confidence to showcase their story, the waterfall are divine...and the ferns...meh. (almost just kidding!)
Your drone work, as always, is just lovely, balanced reveals, and great timing with the sunlight. Lovely angles and changes of perspectives.
Likewise with your video work and editing.Transition through landscapes between slowmo and real time following the percussion of the music. Nice. Capturing the movement and flow of water, the play and bounce of light. Duncan, when you are crouching down at one of the water pools with the sunlight streaming behind you, that sunlight is just lovely and it's own character shines and gives that segment additonal depth and interest..and when you pare it down, it really is just you talking the camera. It is your thoughtfulness and care that gives that additonal dimension to your videos. Trust your landscape to lend its story to your own.
Lovely knot work, Sophie!!!! My husband, a knot fiend, was so impressed. The lack of catch in no way diminishes this story. Love it!!!
Visiting a brewey, sampling beers, vidoeing food and capturing the delight of savouring the delish. Another beautifully filmed segment. Noice.
Even burger night was a lovely shoot. The life of the fire, the capture of the night sky, the building of a gastronomic tower of deliciousness and generating one of the eternal polarising questions of modern Australian cuisine...doe beetroot have a place in a burger or is its proper place on the side, or even to remain unpurchased? Along with the existance of coriander and the concept of pineapple on pizza, the people are divided.
Sophie and Duncan, just in case you had not noticed, I absolutely ADORE your videos. The editing is lovely, the music selction compliments your videos and does not overtake them. You both present so well to the camera and your videos are a sheer joy to watch. Thank you. I cannot wait for the next episode.

      Hi Margo,
      Wow, your feedback is humbling.
It’s interesting that you note the balance between narration (voice over) and talking to camera as we have been focusing on making our narration more casual and conversational as we find it can easily come across as too informative and jar with the tone throughout.
We’re always looking to be out and shoot at golden hour (as much as possible) to capture when the light is low and cast shadows across the landscape (also the reason we always get back after dark 😂).
I also love the shot of Dunc crouching down and talking to the camera, it feels really intimate doesn’t it ☺️ (ps it’s Soph here). And pass on my thanks to your hubby, my knot work continues to improve, although my fish catching skills are a work in progress...
I’m with you on the beetroot debate. I can’t quite make my mind up. I love it in nearly anything but there’s nothing worse than a soggy bun so as long as it’s not right next to the bread I think it’s a winner.
Stay tuned for the next episode 🤙

Hey! Thanks so much for reaching out. I'm so pumped you enjoyed watching it ☺️ The Gold Coast is seriously a cool place, don't you think? The ocean, the waterways, the waterfalls and the hinterland in such a small area. Have you been? x

    • @IfNotNow
      @IfNotNow  3 роки тому

Thanks! A lot of it is but some clips (generally b roll) is shot at 1080 as the Sony A73 doesn’t have the ability to shoot a higher frame rate at 4K. Duncs contemplating buying the new Sony soon...

Hey Kate. We stayed at Sharp Park River Bend Country Bush Camping (bit of a mouthful lol) but really cool place. We find it rare to have power in a bush camp, plus the fire pits are an awesome addition 🙌
