Quite the adventure to get there. Worth the effort. Glad you enjoyed the time you spent there.

Trev was really sorry about the couple of hiccups on the journey to Bogense but we all arrived safely so no harm done. The customs officer just wanted to check our passports and vehicle. He was very friendly and advised they just do random checks and we were chosen at random. He asked us about our journey from the UK and seemed genuinely interested. Really enjoyed the village walk and the cafe. Your gimbal footage is looking good too 😃👍🏻🚐🚐💙 Trev n Sue

They have sharpened their checks these days due to what is happening in the Middle East.

Great video. Looks lovely in Denmark, lovely site you stayed at. The weather though didn’t do it justice.

If you drive north to Hirtshals, you can take the ferry to Bergen, my hometown

@@BobEarnshawMoHo That would be awesome. Such a shame there’s no direct ferry connection between Norway and the UK. That service sadly stopped back in 2008.

Yes, it's ridiculous that we can't get to Norway directly from the UK.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo When I first moved to Denmark you could get a ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg. 18 hour trip.

When I was much younger I had the "Children's Encyclopedia Britannica" and I still remember the key facts it had about Denmark.. Men wear hats; and Denmark is windy. I see at least the 2nd part is still accurate :)

😅 We didn't see much evidence of hat wearing - apart from my own hat!

Welcome to Denmark Bob, Jenny and Poppy. Love your pronunciations, always makes me smile. Fyn sounds like Fune and as I told you later on the G is silent., so Bogense sounds like Boo en ser looking forward to your visit to Holbæk.

It was lovely to meet you and thanks for coming to visit us. We didn’t make it to Helsingør this trip but are definitely going to try and stay at Helsingør Camping next year. We will be back as we really enjoyed Denmark.

Denmark has had border control at the German and Swedish border for many years, even that the EU don't like it. We may not have a permanent border control, hence the tents. I believe we establish a temporary control each half year. We have done that for about 10 years, I believe.
Trucks are also 80 km/h. Most of them drive 88 km/h. Trucks are restricted, they can't go faster. The reason they get away with 88 km/h is: The courts allow 10% deviation. I think it's the same all over the EU. So you can do 88 in your motorhome too. But your vehicle ain't restricted, so they chance they will pull you over is bigger. But 80-85 should be safe.
The bridge to Fyn is the small belt bridge.

Ah I see, I wasn't sure how tolerant the speed cameras would be. I ended up setting my cruise control to 83kph.

Look for public buildings for free internet, such as city halls, hospitals, and libraries (bibliotek). Even the buses on Fyn have free Internet.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 місяці тому

Thanks, but I'm sure they would want me sitting in their library or bus for 6 hours while my UA-cam video uploads. 😅

@@BobEarnshawMoHo The internet is excellent here. Many libraries really has huge bandwidth. Tourists do use the public internet, it is completely legal, np.
In the internets infancy, politicians legislated on the internet. EVERY citizen shall have access to broadband. The reason, the vision, was a paper free Denmark. We are now a digital country and have been that the last 12 years. It is illegal for public authorities to send snail mail.
When I am doing my tax, it is in front of my computer, and it takes under 10 minutes. No, I am not a young IT nerd, I am born in 1961. I don't have a drawer full of important papers any more, it is all stored electronically. Signing stuff, is also done electronically.
I have an 1000/100 connection, costing 209kr per months. Many places people have a 1000/1000 connection. So you see, the Internet is widespread, just use the freebees when in Denmark.
