10. OČI MOJE
Our traditional song written by the Bosnian poet Safet Kafedžić.
This outstanding artist has been engaged in poetry since his youth.Numerous listeners impatiently awaited his humorous interludes, which he performed in the radio programme “Veselo veče” on Radio Sarajevo.Kafedžić’s folkloric dramas were performed on the boards of the Sarajevo Volkstheater from 1943. He wrote the famous monodrama “Po suncu ti meni hodio”, as well as “Džaferbegov jemin” and “Čaršijska posla” for the amateur artists association “Gajret”. In addition to his fame as a drama writer, he is famous in Bosnian society as a great connoisseur of Sevdah, who has dedicated his entire life to the preservation and protection of the autochthonous Bosnian-Herzegovinian song Sevdalinka, as well as to the artistic affirmation of this kind of music.He wrote and composed more than 300 Sevdalinka, which had animated Zaim Imamović, Safet Isović, Nedžad Salković, Ismet Alajbegović, Jovica Petković, Zekerijah Đezić, Nada Mamula, Hanka Paldum, Jozo Penava, Beba Selimović, Husein Kurtagić, Muhamed Mujkanović, Zora Dubljević, Meho Puzić and Joost Spijkers.

Raskopčala suncu njedra bijela
Pa ih hladi vodom iz bunara

Drhtao sam ko list na jablanu
Gledajući konu raskopčanu
Srce vrisnu pamet se okrenu
Skočih mlađan u avliju njenu
Sad je na me ko na vuka hajka
Šta učinih žalosna mi majka
Kriv sam rekoh ja u ovom satu

Translation:
My eyes, I would curse you
For the devil took you by the hand;
You watched through the old fence
And saw what she was doing at the well.
She took the silver jug in her hands
And unbuttoned her white breasts to the sun;
And cooled herself with the water from the well,
My heart is beating out of my chest.
I was trembling like a leaf on a poplar
Looking at the sweet unbuttoned;
Screaming with my heart and crazy with my mind,
Youthful jumped into her yard.
Now I'm being rounded up like a wolf,
What have I done, my poor mother?

Joosh, you have no idea what have you just done. I heard that song hundreds of times, one of the best and peoples in Bosnia favourites, but the way you took it is just dangerous. If I'm the owner of the bar in Bosnia, would never let you sing it at my place around the people under "influence", because sevdalinka is like a weapon. If you sing the right song at the wrong place... expect all the glasses and bottles to start flying 😂

very dangerous song,in bosnia people usually yell something like:”Daj mi pistolj i dvjesto metaka da se ubijem” before they turn bar into chaos 😂
