Lewis Richards They only retired due to structural issues. In addition, it also created a shortage of train cars that we are still recovering from. Retiring the R46 cars now will make the situation go from bad to worse.
Lewis Richards Absolutely not. The R179s are the replacement for the 50 R42s and most, if not all of the R32s (I believe they had plans to keep 110 of them), both of which are extremely older than the R46s. The planned R46 replacements are the R211s, and the first 10 cars won’t be here until the summer. Once the text finishes up next year and the cars are placed into service, the R46 cars can retire. The priority is replacing the R32s (I’m hearing word from the forums that retirement has slowed to some extent). Do you ever ride the subway to get to/from somewhere important because it sounds like you don’t?
Cool meeting
Retire the r46 already ... GOD
Lewis Richards They don’t have replacement cars as of yet.
@@TheRailLeaguer the r44 didnt have replacement cars yet they were retired

@@TheRailLeaguer I disagree if they retire the r46s, the r179 can replace it
