When you get electricity. You cut up cucumbers in circles aka chips and onions as well. Salt pepper vinegar and water in a bowl. Cover them up and put in refrigerator for about 3 days yum yum very good and nice snack on a hot day

What you call training is called trellising. And best harvest when cucumbers are dark green not when they are turning colour. You can Google different cucumber recipes you could try.
