I got my bike license back in the summer of 1972 after teaching myself how to ride. I don't remember taking a skills test, probably would have failed the cones. Still alive, only a few crashes while racing through the woods trying to jump anything that didn't move out of my way when I was 26 or so. Congratulations to her and to your patience.

Just for full disclosure ladies... I didn't pass my endorsement test the first time either... Its ok.
I was told to practice, and I had to take the MSF second half (again) and then retake the MSF endorsement skills test. I passed too, the second time. Its ok.

Check the timing on her bike. It might help with the hard starting.
I don't think many states offer the skills test anymore. I got my motorcycle endorsement back in 99 by taking a class...
Here in Florida we had a skills test and a written test and both were sponsored by the local MSF. I failed the riding portion the first time but passed the second time. They were pretty serious and did not let anyone slide by.
@@willtopower2158 I did a similar thing in Colorado with local MSF classes. Both the written and riding portions were ridiculously easy for me as I'd had previous riding experience. I live in FL too now. Just I remember older people having a DMV experience like in the video. People would typically borrow a small cc bike to do the skills test if they did not have one.

@3:25 Hahaha, Love it, I could watch replays of that smoke show. ... Angels brakes , 70% front 30% back, .... Lacey, I'm still trying to figure that one out, .looked like 110% back, lol. All the giggles aside Angel , Give Lacey a Hug and a Heck-ya from all of us for Gitten-er Dun and passing her exam.

Here in germany a motorcycle license is 2000 USD and you arent allowed to drive on the street before passing the test.. only with an authorized teacher.....our System is a scam....the canada way seems to be much more citizen friendly!
I did this BS two times...at age 16 the 125cc class and at 18 the open class....4000 bucks for bullshit....I was already able to ride since I was a kid...lol
Did a stoppie at the test around the cones......so my test was only 25 minutes normaly 60....but the inspector understood that I knew what I was doing..haha
So now at age 32 I enjoy going 240- 250 casually after work on the way home...blasting some exits on the motorway....racing some turbocharged volkswagens or BMWs....and crazy as it sounds... totally legal...lol

Man, that's just crazy you guys have to pay that much for your bike licence!! I think by the time it's all said and done with the test and such, it only ends up being $75 for the full motorcycle licence with no restrictions here. And I have known a few people who moved here from Germany so I know the stories about the autobahn haha.
watched the Shovefest video... Dang, wish we had that many around here in NS. I have a 97' Superglide and folks think thats old. Anyway, git to NS for some good riding and ralleys. Wharf Rat being the biggest... tomorrow is the Devils Half Acre.. peace

Good Morning, Red! If you enjoy reading and learning you should get a copy of Reg Pridmores' book "Smooth Riding". Ideally you could drop down to one of his classes at Willow Springs California but I see his schedule is full for this year. I had been riding for 42 years before I went the first time and all the way back to BC (4 lovely days) I realized that it was only at that point in my life I finally knew how to ride a motorcycle. It was Like I had never ridden before!

Lol! I've ridden most of my life and for the last 3 years I've just went and renewed my permit for 6 months. Here in Georgia that means no passengers and no after dark riding. Who cares at this point? Too busy to ride at night and haven't had anyone on the back of any of my bikes for 20 years! Anyway, thanks for posting and as always.....keep on keeping on.✌️

but how many time you get up, (but what I really wanna know is, who are they?)
BTW, I could tell right off Lacey was gonna kill her test, in how she handles the bike on the road in general.
locking the breaks up and sliding smoothly to a stop @ the lights, just like she'd done it a million times, whoa!
Plus, it's always the small things that get you on the test. And like an Algebra test it's essentially stuff that's not so important.
Congrats for both of you, Red supporting your sister on a milestone growth point in her life.

in Pennsylvania i took the motorcycle safety coarser. have to have permit, sign up. its free. had few nights of class time pretty cool very interactive. little written test. then time on motorcycles which they supply. 16 different technical courses. tested on 4 of the major ones, oh bring rain gear just incase. its a few weekends long. They stamp your permit providing you pass. send in to the dot good to go . dont have to go to the dot for final test done after the course. It was a great experience. they have an advance on i hope to do just for fun and extra training. Cheers Red !!

I'm in the United States. When I took my test I turned the idle up a little on my bike so I could just coast through the test. I went through the whole test with my turn signal on. But luckily I still passed.

I’ve found keeping up doing slow speed maneuvers in parking lots translates directly to how good I am out on the road and my confidence level.

I live in California you can take a defensive riding class which really is a good class when you finish the class you don't have to do the riding test only the written test. A lot of people will rent an easy bike to ride to take the test.

Got my license on a sunday in Mundijong western australia 1972 the awesome old cop told me to ride around the block by the time i got back my old boy walked out with my licence.oh ye i nearly dropped it when i pulled up at the cop shop there was mud on the road😅good onya sisters❤🎉

My first DMV MC riding test was in the late 70's.. Testing person walked me to my bike then told me to drive out the driveway go all left turns around the block return in other driveway and park in any other spot and come back inside, and he went in for coffee... I did just that and returned to tester inside... He came to the door looked for my bike and said... "Good job, you would be surprised how many people park in the same space and fail my test."... Nice job ladies...

In 1970 I walked into the Texas DMV and told the nice lady I lost my DL. When she was filling out the paperwork she asked me if I had a endorsement. I said why yes, MC endorsement. At that time the DMV wasn't computerized. Two weeks later I received my new and improved drivers license with a MC endorsement.
