- The digital audio production landscape is constantly changing with new innovations and products, but if you are a guitar player looking for an affordable budget audio interface that still has the typical features you need for guitar like; dedicated line out for re-amping, midi control, active/passive options, optional jfet powered preamp, etc., then the Axe I/O One might be the audio interface for you!

Been looking for a good demo on this thank you
Huge IK guy here. I use the AXE I/O and the Z Tone buffer/boost when I plug into a real amp
Midi in/out is a HUGE bonus point for me. So rare to find an interface this size with midi input. Especially an affordable one.
I feel like they really checked all the boxes!
I just wanna know if the HI Z is as good or better than say the Audient ID4, ID14 or the Behringer UPHORIA UM404HD. Anyone have any idea? I keep hearing the Audient actually makes a huge difference for recording guitars.
I'm buying one ! I wanna try this out.
Also worth note, the Zoom AMS-22 and U-22 both have aux stereo input, so if you use an outboard mixer for your guitar mics, just feed some kind of cable into that. I use a Hosa 1/4" to 1/8" double stereo cable. I also have a Monoprice dual RCA to 1/8" TRS in case I need the headphones out for actual headphones and don't feel like plugging the other cable into an aux in on some Bluetooth headphones or a set of speakers.
Oooo! That bold option WOULD be cool for recording vocals!! PS: I personally can't tell the difference between the Tone capture and the Chug pedal... Now I need a Chug pedal!
I'm considering picking up this cheap little guitar based interface for various needs, also the Mikko2 plugin is an amazing AF IR solution IMO.
"Narf!"
😈
Dumb question but I would assume that you could use this as an interface for the quad cortex to capture ?
Could you please test the expression pedal input?
That’s a good price for the hardware. Well presented! \m/
Thanks! Yeah I agree, specifically if you are a guitar player and don’t need a second input!
Does this also have loopback for podcasting?
when you were in capture mode I noticed the output of the pedal is going to th input so when you press that hammer button to listen to the sound before processing ,what is playing the riff ?
How does this interface handle hot DI signals? I see you use EMGs. I also use high output active pickups and they clip my Steinberg UR22 even with the preamp gain set to 0. Also how are the noise levels with high gain vst amps?
Does anyone know if you can send the processed signal to the amp out? I would like to use it for sending the preamp models and effects in Amplitube to my amplifier, like it was a multi-fx unit.
Finally someone reviews something for guitars that doesn't cost $500. How is the latency compared to other interfaces?
damn i got scarlett solo and it seems like this is about the same price but includes all this other stuff too huh
Hello friend! This audio interface can be unlinked from the account, for example, if I want to sell it later?
Thanks I just ordered it . The only thing I don’t understand is if you use the input from the direct out or a microphone, how do you play the guitar to model , only thing I could think of was record into a DAW then play back and re amp into the amp your modeling ? . Note I do have a Tonex pedal ,
Yep, that is exactly how you do it.
so once you capture an amp with this Axe i/o one in the tonex app you can transer the modeled amps or pedals to the Tonex pedal ?
I'm guessing you can but I just want to make sure.
Yes, you can transfer any tone x models you make to the tone x pedal
cool 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Having a second computer without an interface, for a quick $129 you've got something that works including midi. It is the GOAT at this point in a cheap interface
I agree! I’ve had more expensive interfaces with less features
@@TaylorDanley To their credit IK really is hitting these out of the park. They've got the little iRig stuff for portability and iPhone/iPad, then guitar specific and Tonex. It's hard to ignore the practicality and function including real midi control
Pale horse , rogue wave🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just looked up Amplitube 5 SE and it's 150 bucks according to google, and Tonex SE is 100 bucks according to Google. If that thing bundled them AND Ableton AND the unit itself for 130 bucks... It just doesn't add up, what am I missing?
They just really want you in the toneX ecosystem! 🥳
IRig HD X also come with all that included. They’re NOT playing around when it comes to stealing every guitar player on Earth away from everyone else.
You're really making want a tonex lol this interface is pretty cool wish It had more inputs for mics for dual micing cabs like with e609 and sm57 , to me that is the only downfall to this interface. It's pretty wicked though
I believe they have larger versions, I just haven't used one so I don't know exactly what they do. But yeah this thing is pretty cool. Definitely taking it with me on vacation next time I go.
what happened to the old days where the actual Interface pedal creates the huge chugging tone. ... Getting on the computer to do comeputer work is tedious & no fun & too advanced for some.
ok that stands for in / out ,just saying
lil comment for the algo
If u Wana audio interface that adds all kind of cool noises to ur high gain guitar u should get a behringer um2
🤣 perfect. I actually had one a while back for expanding my 18i20 but never used it and now I don’t know where it is
It's not thaaaat bad. But i'm definitely looking at replacing it with the Axe I/O lmao
Single input is kind of a dealbreaker
Being a guitar driven interface what do you use 2 inputs for? Just curious
@@DeathMetalDevin Personally I use a second interface for bass since it usually requires the gain set to a different value and I like them set to go so I can record without fiddling around with knobs when an idea hits me.
A lot of people who play guitar use only 1 input.
Yeah, I agree. Like guitar players would never have a reason to plug a microphone into their interface?!
There are Guitar players that can sing as well 🤔😂
Lol just when you think cheap gear can't get more useful and worth having...another slightly better version gets released 🤣it's bloody awesome, but hard to keep up.
I agree it is. I feel like I'm constantly getting new budget gear things to demo.. this one is pretty worthwhile if you need an interface though.
The only reason they came out with this is because they fucked up the origional Axe I/O and Solos Amp Out.
I'd sooner buy the ToneX live/floor unit and a Zoom AMS-22, or Zoom U-22 and an RCA to 1/4" adapter... Oh, wait, I already have that, and I already have a tube preamp from ART that has impedance matching on the input and a selector for the output. Factor in some pedal power active DI boxes and I'm set. Tbh I'd rather have a dedicated USB midi interface, or just use a device with midi over USB.
Ikmultimedia never failed
I think they’re doing pretty well!
All my friends have amp modelers 🥲
