Also, it's really debatable if they could show more emotions, specially when compared to today. And this idea that men can only socially show anger and horniness is ridiculous and comes from hybristophilic andro-attracted women and men. Victorian men were pretty much expected to show no emotion, but so were women, things besides awe, intelectual curiosity, piety and similar emotions were "uncool" back on those blasé times. Now days it's pretty much only humor/joy and pity which are allowed on social settings for men today and for quite a long while, and only in moderation. So much that those emotions are the refuge of low status men, IE, fat and ugly men, who are still within social bounds. People outside of social bounds express what ever they want, which usually is anger and sadness for obvious reasons.

All that would have changed in the pre-Internet days would be that the guy would have been humiliated and career would be damaged. She 'might' have been arrested, but probably would not have gotten much time. I doubt that she had much money to cover the damages.
What exactly was so humiliating about it? That she was sleeping around? I'd even wonder if "I allowed this IP to get stolen" isn't a worse thing to have on your record than "some psycho smashed it up". Especially as it doesn't explain why he didn't still have a backup. An employer could at least sue a psycho. Would you really want to hire a guy that (appears like he) doesn't make backups and might be a little too sloppy with his security? I don't think in them days "game programmer has work destroyed" would have made headlines either way. Outside of videogame magazines. I'd imagine the investigators/public would react like some unknown painter's work got thrashed. "You're who? You do what? Make vidjageemz? Just make another one then, and don't bother us until something of actual worth gets lost".
The totally overlooked, underrated and awesome gem called Die Hard Arcade on the Saturn that I feel is a part of the SOR series. If only Sega had used the engine for the 'museum' part of Sonic Jam to make an entire game, used the Die Hard Arcade engine to make a PROPER Streets of Rage, pushed titles like Last Bronx, Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon Saga more... Or bloody marketed the 4mb Ram cart outside Japan...well the Saturn would have had a better legacy for sure.
That one about the cheating wife destroying the programmers work really makes me mad. I haven't researched it properly but if that's what really happened (very believable) than I hope she got what's coming to her. That's why modern day feminism pisses me off so much. The programmers wife sounds like many other women I know who are or were 100% at fault but it's them who do something fucked up to the man and usually dance away with no repercussions or a slap on the wrist compared to what they do.

Johnny Depp was cancelled because of a psycho ex-wife.
@@lopanreturns7085 if you're a jackass then that's a solid opinion
Timesplitters is getting a remake by Timesplitters fans and it's titled Timesplitters Rewind :3 LOL Timesplitters Future Perfect is my most favourite cause of creepier maps XD
As far as I can tell, he's neither a hippo or a platypus; he's a pug.
Thank you for reminding me of Chakan: The Forever Man, best Sega Genesis game I could never remember the name of.
Used to think gaming companies where getting dumber in my era... Now i see was wrong.... Thanks guru
"he threw half the bloody bathroom out with it too"
The other half and I nearly died laughing at this XD
Thank you so much for supporting the TimeSplitters series. It's unknown to many in America actually... I hope you will or already have supported the fully authorized and supplied fan game, TimeSplitters Rewind, by the fan developer, Pantheonyx, if and when the game releases.
damn, the last one is kinda sad.
I feel real bad for that guy in the last game. All that effort and work gone in a drunken fit of rage; never to be officially used.
Came back here after the news of the 4k port of TimeSplitters 2 was found in Homefront: The Revolution.
Feels bad man...
Where did you see this news?
@@Larry Saw it on Twitter at first, then read Polygon's article on it.
@@bigmaddyd ah interesting, i had a feeling the full game was on it, but I suspected it was what remained of the PS3 trilogy set that was cancelled.
@@Larry To think, TimeSplitters 2 in 4k may never had been considered jad it not been for a chad dev by the name of Matt Phillips.
One of the many kings among men in the gaming industry and community o7
(btw, I consider you among them ♥)
can't stop binging your videos. Puts me in mind of watching shows like Movies, Games and Videos, Gamesmaster and Bad Influence!, back in the day.
Who cares if she regretted it. Regretting murder doesn't mean you never did the damage to everyone involved.
if only he could sue
she didn't commit murder...?
I love how you call Ocean Software "Manchurian" when that means "pre-Chinese", not "from Manchester".
You know you're the first person in five years to actually get that reference? :D
6:46 @Larry Bundy JR, where has this character of yours gone? He's a funny fella. We'd like to see him in future fact hunt episodes.
lol, im sure he'll be back soon :D
@@Larry Legend!
...and the error 37 screen on Diablo III! xD
You literally never get to actually SEE an invisible tank running by you.
SEGA was run by dipshits in the Saturn/Dreamcast era which led to their demise, they could've been the console kings otherwise. I'm just grateful they're finally making SOR4 with an impressive cast including Yuzo and Hiromoto.
I thought I was the only one who knew about liquid kids. It’s a fun game, I remember playing it a bunch in an arcade cabinet that my dentist had as a kid. Didn’t know that story behind it though.
You really, really hate Peter Molyneux, and the reference in every video is hilarious.
Deep Silver recently rebooted Free Radical Design and current remor mill says TimeSplitters 4 is totally back on, as of May 2021...
I like how you say ''hello you''! :)
Timesplitters, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were amazing.
yeah, time was not too kind to them.
We are getting Streets of Rage 4. Take that Berine Stolar
Wow, that last one tho...
At least the Streets of Rage 4 thing ended well in the long run.
I think your channel is one of the few good things UA-cam has ever recommended to me. Keep It up with the good work!
All that TimeSplitters stuff made me regret that they didn't make a 4th one. Hell, I STILL play TimeSplitters 2 til this day!
Also, we did eventually get Streets of Rage 4 so what would you call that? Cancelling the cancelation?
My Dad got me TimeSplitters recently.🙂
But it's still a bummer to remember the 4th one, Man.😟
"She deeply regretted her actions years later." Why the hell wasn't she sued?
+qassault Crimes like that prescribe and DV victims tend not to report their loved ones, specially in the 80's.
@@lloydgush especially if the victims are men. Because of the backwards idea that "men can't be abused" and are ridiculed for coming forward.
@@Gilhelmi Yes, but a level of natural stoicism also plays a role here, goddamn, man are less likely to report any kind of crime committed against them.
To some extent, men as a group are a bit more stoic and this affects this kind of stuff.
But, to a large degree, yes, it's social pressures.
@@lloydgush yeah, it's just I study history. Victorian era men were allowed more emotions, and they did not report crimes because if someone attacked them, they could defend themselves.
Somedays, I wonder if I was born in the wrong era.
@@Gilhelmi "They could defend themselves" that can be argued, they could defend themselves way worst than one can today.
God I loved time splitters 2. I remember taking hours to make a big map for my friend and I to play the zombie mode on.
Timesplitters 4 is supposedly being worked on now.
I laughed my ass off when I heard, "Shotgun-toting Monkey".
You can't forget the legendary "We gotta cancel Megaman Legends 3 because no one is showing interest". Then what did fans immediately do? START MAKING THEIR OWN BECAUSE THEY WANTED IT SO MUCH.
Hey, Crapcom, sorry we didn't play that demo you never released.
to be fair, most Classic fans hate Legends (just look at the AVGN vid)
Damn... I actually remembered reading - and getting bummed out - about the C64 version Parasol Stars getting pinched in a burglary when I was younger; Knowing what actually happened now is quite shocking! 😲
Do you feel they should have been honest about what happened, or was the lie better?
@@Larry I’m not really sure but I do wonder... What would’ve happened if they had been honest about it?
I don't know why but that first reason for cancellation sounded like a line from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". :)
42 is the answer to life.....Yes
Fox DaGamer Life, the universe and everything? Yes, yes it is.
Funny how there's actually a Streets of Rage 4 now.
I was just about to say this 😂
The totally overlooked, underrated and awesome gem called Die Hard Arcade on the Saturn that I feel is a part of the SOR series.
Many women have huge advantages (especially attractive women) in life that they take full advantage of but should you bring it up they pretend it doesn't exist and women get lighter penalties for the same crimes as men and that's a fact.
The programmers wife sounds like many other women I know who are or were 100% at fault but it's them who do something fucked up to the man and usually dance away with no repercussions or a slap on the wrist compared to what they do.
Look for GamesThatWeren't.com if you want the full story and an interview with the guy. It's an interesting (and quite sad) read.
