- Our second trip on the big blue chasing big GT's and doggies in the Andaman Islands India.
Another amazing trip in the very capable hands of gamefishingindia. Great weather this time and the fishing didn't disappoint, loads of surface hits on the poppers. We just need to get better at keeping the hooks in ! Jigging was fun too with some good doggies caught. Check out in the vid what took a 15lbs yellow fin tuna livebait !
Had some nice GT's to 25Kg, but lost a few much bigger. needed another holiday after a weeks fishing as our arms were dropping off !
Enjoy the video

these old guys grunting and freaking out on the hook set cracks me up.
10 years and I still love it!
Unbelieveable !! Great vid & great sport guys. Good that your charter is teaching you the responsibility with these fish. They fight so hard that they are all but dead when you boat them. Really enjoyed this, well done.
thanks for returning the fish guys. A major effect of human predation on a species is a decrease in average size. Returning fishensures that the big guys will still be around to reproduce and we wont reduce these big Trevallies to small fry. Cheers and great fishing!
I'm so envious of all of you catching these beautiful fish.
Every time I watch this video I say "this is what I'll do one day" ... amazing video, amazing landscape, amazing people! respect sea ! :) you are great guys. siete grandi! cheers from Italy
I have fished in the anderman islands beautiful islands and amazing fishing my biggest GT WAS 60lb and the most powerful fighting fish I have ever caught will go back for another expedition sometime
This is an unreal video of cranking down on some real game fish. Well done, I can only imagine! From cranking poppers on largemouth bass to this, looks to be a BLAST!!!! On my Bucket list now!!!!!! Great job guys!
love how you focus on the strike in the video that is the most enjoyable part
Some of you doubters and negative peeps have probably never experienced fishing like this but yet you still comment like your seasoned pro's !? These boys know what they are doing and do EXACTLY whats needed to land and return these beautiful fish. Seriously, get a life and go out fishing more often. Watch and learn !!
Top job boys, excellent footage, I would give my right arm to do a session like that. Maybe one day :)
Some serious fish there. Waiting for your next adventure!
Obviously you have never experienced this in any shape or form.................the rush is intense and the fight is a fight.........over 300,000 hits on the video just to see these dudes doing this. Its amazing!!
no words, amazing! I hope some day to enjoy like this
I agree, its not so much the jump thats impressive its how it powers its way back down into the depths
Stu
The Return video was just as awesome. GT's sure are backbreaking work. Keep rocking Stu 👍
Thanks Yakoob, on with my Panama vid, its a good one :)
On with the show then mate 👍
thanks many times..
your live film of andaman is always so fantastic
appreciate for your sweet for these..
We went to Andamans first time in 2005...totally lost my heart to GT popping in The Invisible Bank. Still got a Bottom Map of Andamans in my Office :) Best spot fished there in 2009 was Union Ledge… there we landed (C&R) over 40 GT´s in two hours peak bite...i even got 12st in a row :D
That is some serious action! , nice one : )

Excellent video! For those nitpicking on them releasing fish ... that is indeed the proper way of releasing ocean fish. You torpedo them into the water to force water past their gills. It revives them faster so they can swim away. If you gently place them back in the water they will take a bit to revive and will be shark bait.
This is fantastic movie. Fishing GT is my dream and I hope it will come true in the future:))
You have highlighted a perfect example of how hard GT's can fight Bobs pulling as hard as he can and the fish pulls as hard back, if i recall this was only a 10kg fish aswell.
80lb tuf XP line and 250lb suffix leaders. Have been twice to the Andamans, not going in 2013 but have plans to go back in next few years.
That was the best and funniest video I've watched on UA-cam for years! This must be a dream come true fishingtrip! I've fished meikong catfish in thailand up to 35kg but they look like pulling a scooter compared to these fish, this is a real fight! I must contact gamefishingindia and start to plan a trip like this!!!
Thanks for comments & good advice, its only our second trip blue water fishing so we are not experts, one think i know is these blue water fish are in a differen't league on the fighting front when compared to fresh water fish which is where we mainly fish. I should have a header saying "Only comment if you have hooked one" :)
When u hook a fish why do you jerk it really hard like 3 or 4 more times? if i'd do that with my rod i'd break it or snap my line..(or damage the fish if using braided line
It's called setting the hook mate. When you're catching big fish with big hooks, you needs lot of force to set the hooks well. This is why Stuart mentions that they were having trouble loosing fish by keeping hooks. I do a bit of land based shark fishing and to set an 18/0 shark hook in to the jaws of a large shark, we have to put the rod over our shoulder and run up the beach to get enough force for a good hook set.
Hi the line we used for popping was 80lbs Tuf XP, the reel was the
Daiwa Saltiga Dog Fight SA-Z6500HDF, has a capacity of 550 yrds of 50lbs braid. The popping rod is a Daiwa GT86 8ft 6 long

The rod butt does not have gimbal grove! Or was the soft rubber cap on? Fastastic fishing :)
I agree it looks brutal, but these fish are brutes and you have to try and set the hook ,they have very hard mouths and the hooks used a very strong. No fish were damaged, often they spat the big poppers out like they were a toy, and often bite them in half !
Might be the best fishing video I have seen on UA-cam and I have seen quite a few. I would love to go salt water popping! Looks amazing!
I agree i wouldn't do it with a freshwater fish, but for these GT's and Dogtooth blue water fish its broadly recognised as the best way of return these fish it gives them a boost and they all swam off strongly.
Worth watching every second of it!!!!!!! AMAZING VIDEO GUYS!!! Keep up the good work!!
really wonderful video ... but can I ask you about the type of the fishing rod and the thread that you used and its size ?
Don't get me wrong, catching fish like this is so exciting.Ive done my fair share in Florida all be it not on GT's but on tarpon and sharks. But no need to scream, can tell you are excited but just a bit of overreaction. Some quality fishing though, nice one.
fantastico! meraviglioso! emozionante! COMPLIMENTI
amazing fishing ... good job friend
Nice one, i am sure you will have a great time, D & A will put you on some fish. Go to the Gym before hand its hard work bringing those poppers back !. Just make sure the rod you take is stiff enough to set the hooks, our 4lb TC rods we first took we too soft ! If your on fish they hit well, but we seemed to do very well on the Cubara 150 Poppers, the battered one on the video hompage pic.
Lovley video! Nice to see some specimenanglers in another element! But what is the name of the ambient song, the one with violins?
old man does not now how to fish ... nice video awesome best ever seen
You can get the reels in the UK from Daiwa Saltiga dogfights, the rods which are GT86 Daiwa popping rods are from France, if you ask Daiwa direct they may import one for you or i think you could get one from pecheextreame website ?
excellent job good display of sportsmanship to the fishermen and to the giants what technique were you using?blooping?once again awesome video
You guys went fishing to Cinque Islands! That's one of the most beautiful dive spots in the world!
can I ask what song plays at the begining of the video thanks, great video and great fishing guys
Beautiful video, I enjoyed every moment, champion.
12:30 and further ... really painful ... but he has made it!!! superb!
nice video..
what is the name of the gadget?
it is to measure the depth of the sea right?
what rod do you use for jigging ...and recomendation rods for shimano stella sw20000 reel or daiwa saltiga 6500h
Hi Glad you enjoyed it, the reel is a daiwa saltiga Dogfight.
Very good!!! How much does costs such a fishingtour??
i just told myself "i'm getting that exact same reel!" but after seeing your comment, now I dont think so. haha. what kind of reel is it anyway?
Thank you. Another question, do you think that lure is good for shore jigging, and is 80gr weight too much/little? (Target fish are predators, usually chasing schools of fish near the shore, seabass, yellowtail etc)
Your not wrong we did think of going the gym, what the film doesn't show is throwing heavy lures around for a couple of hours then getting a hookup with a powerful GT.
Beast of a fish gotta love 'em!......I wouldn't come back! Great video a greeting from Ireland
Looks a great trip, vast improvements over the 2011 trip. Don't mind the negative comments, many people have no clue on the pound-for-pound ferocity of GTs. Though I would like to suggest more deliberate short pumps over long jerks to save energy avoid breakage. Jump and shout all you want, I really don't get people who watch the video and complain.
Great video and thanks for sharing, looking forward to your 2013 trip ;)
very nice guys!! I have been speaking with Darran & Akshay will be going over in April 2013 cant wait very excited!!!! still unsure what gear to use..
The music is " North" by Paul Mounsey
for example what exactly are you doing at 14:40?? It looks very amateuristic
Well done boys, those GT are a brute of the sea on tackle gear and thank you for showing us how to fish. For get about the negative comments they are just resentment against your guys.
What is your popping set up? Rod, reel, line, tackle?
hey guys awesome video, awesome fishing, awesome tackle, just a tip when you're fishing in the salt the further you can get your hands on the fore grip the more power you will have on it and the less strain on your body cause you can just lock your arm strait without high sticking either. Congrats on your catches though!
Hey quick question, what would you recommend for GT fishing and is it POSSIBLE to do it inland fishing (since i mainly fish shark and tarpon inland) Miami area
What an amazing video!! I loved the tasteful music...then it turned metal! Even better!
I've never done popping or jigging, but it sure looks exciting! And who ever said that fishing isn't a sport???
16:05 was "BEAUTIFUL" awesome display of the gt's attack power.
That`s nice...have u been to bali, i`ve a lot of story about monster gt`s there instead videos on youtube
wow! Awesome video. Those fish are tanks! It looks like you're setting the hook on a sinking 100lb rock!
Hi the music is "North" by Paul Mounsey
Glad you enjoyed the vid, we were using Daiwa GT86 rods with 80lbs Tuff XP Braid
Cheers
Stu
how did you get there? i checked the that there is no plane to there
Tremendous! Enjoyed every second watching this.
what reel was the one used at the beginning the blk/gold one?thanx just subscribed you got a fan.
speechless.... what tackle did you guys use? (rods, reels, braid, leader)
Hi,
I agree with you, but the all of this taring and hard puling, it create a great and exiting screen play + great addvitorial for the strong , tuff Daiwa new gear.
For popping what line and rating do you use? How long is your popping rod? What capacity reel?
show show show fantastic.... The Brazil sends you hugs memories
How was the service with the company you went with? How did they treat you?
Great video :) what kind of rods are you guys using?
what reel should I use for striper in the northeast
Is the grunting necessary
Honestly people, the good gear is made to stand intense fights
That is why you pay the big bucks for it
Cheers mates
