This anime taught me the true meaning of emptiness. You don't feel anything everything just passes by but still u have to stick to something to keep on living. I think this is what Oda wanted to tell Dazai and Dazai lives with the hope that doing good for people would make Oda proud of his decision. The same goes for every character in this anime like rampo, yosano, atsushi, Akutagawa, chuuya. By the way this is one of the best anime I've watched. Idk why but it will always have a soft spot in my heart.

This anime is strongly inspired by Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. Many plots similar to those anime. For example this Gide vs Odasaku arc is just a modernized plot from Cowboy bebop's Spike vs. Vicious. And i love it how the author still make originalties plot in BSD without totally copycat others

Actually when I searched to netflix the word dogs (because I love dogs), BSD always shows to me. I ignored that first, but the face of Dazai always show to the face of BSD. I thought he is interesting. Honestly, I never thoght that it will be the one of the best anime I've ever watched.

@@mintyangel9616 Then I watched all of BSD episodes from season 1 to season 3 and it is even better than any other anime. I read the manga to ba animated in season 4 and I like every chapter of the manga.

I may have come across this anime as a accident, but it's the best accident that happened to me. So underrated, yet one of the best anime's I have watched up to today. It's rare that I go back to reading the Manga after I watch an Anime. But the plot is so damn good that I couldn't wait for a S4, and so I read the Manga from beginning till now. The OSTs and the BGMs are so good, especially this OST is my favorite. Hoping for a S4 because the story gets even more interesting.
I love how i started watching this anime and then i didnt watch season 2 cause it was "too boring" for me a few years later i found it on Netflix and said to myself "lets finally watch it" then i saw oda die, well i fricking cried cuz i lost someone during that time who was a big figure in my life, ig that was fate that past me didn't watch season 2 at that time..... Same! I completed season 1 and left it for many months. Then season 5 got released. I got curious of why it's still ongoing since S1 is just an ok almost meh. After watching S2 I got hooked and watched all seasons including dead apple also read Beast.

I only enjoyed season 2 and the other arcs weren't as intriguing as I thought. That's just my opinion though. I felt like Atsushi had zero progress as a character. His "character development" was not that good. Overall, it's ok. I was disappointed with the plot as it reminded me of black clover's trope where their recent opponents is their ally in next couple of arcs. The writing and directing is ok as well. It's neither top notch or very bad. It's either a very low B for me or solid C. I don't expect us to have the same taste but if you like the series, you like the series.
