He actually speaks Japanese and did it in one his streams while playing the game. And yeah it would be interesting if the same actor provided for both languages but I guess they needed a native speaker for that.
In general I prefer the japanese VO due to the setting and wish the lip synch wasn't with the English VO. However, there are some real standouts in the English VO. The guy who voiced the Khan nailed it. He has this....nonchalant maliciousness that really works, a kind of "look what you made me do to you" kind of thing. SP did a great job with the VO and this game, one of my favorites of this generation.
He did a great job, i was blown away by how much personality he adds. You can really tell that everything is just business. It's just another tuesday for him
Daisuke Tsuji is a Japanese man and his Japanese voice is so cool too. No hate to Zoro for voicing Japanese Jin, but I think it'll be more authentic if Daisuke voiced both. His voice is so soothing, and just ghastly.

Disagree. I've played both. While i do love the Japanese dialogue, i found the English better for multiple reasons. Their mouths were synced better and the mo-cap was of the English speaking actors so the voices match the faces better imo.

Crazy how that works. Look, i really like the Japanese version as well. Just pointing out facts. I never watch English dub anime. Why? Because i prefer to watch it as it was originally intended. Last of Us II had better facial animations and foliage textures and GoT has superior draw distancing. The light in GoT is exaggerated, but it suits the setting of the game and really enhances the visuals. Last of us 2 is a liniear game and thats why have better graphics. Japanese voices are just amazing. I mean, it may take some effort to read the subtitles for some people but is totally worthy regarding the mood of the game.
I actually love how they used the voice actors as character models normally they already have the characters designed then they try to find the actor for it

as a Canadian, Patrick did a great job with the accent. I thought the voice actor wasn't english speaker. and I thought Lord Shimura's face model was Japanese
if you watch anime in Japanese voice, play this game in Japanese voice too. you will recognize most of the voices from other animes, that makes it more breathtaking and dramatic.
Finished the game and got the platinum trophy. And I just gotta say what a fantastic journey. To be in a era of Japanese history which isn't well known was extremely entertaining. I wanted it to be as authentic as possible so I opted for english subtitles with Japanese dialogue. However I switched because riding a horse and trying to look at the subtitles was distracting. I hope there is a continuation of Jin's story because i was hoping Jin and Yuna would get together. Can Jin regain his honor from the Shogun. And Ryuzo, there has to be some kind of conclusion. I absolutely love this story and the art was breath taking. Everyone involved in making this game. You all deserve imo the best game of 2020 award.

Bruh, They got top-tier seiryuu for this game. Nakai-san and Akio-san will be the main reason I buy this game. Hijikata from Gintama and Rider from Fate Zero were one of my favorite characters.
It's funny, cause a Japanese studio would never have made a game where the main cast is all average looking, middleaged people like in this game. They'd all be teenage super models.
I got Ghost of Tsushima a week ago for my birthday and I’ve been playing the heck out of it. I’m playing the game in English first.. and the cast is amazing... but I was so curious that I had to hear what the Japanese cast sounded like. Japanese voices are just amazing. I mean, it may take some effort to read the subtitles for some people but is totally worthy regarding the mood of the game.
I actually love how they used the voice actors as character models normally they already have the characters designed then they try to find the actor for it

I always love the Japanese voices they are so deep and powerful its why I love the culture and yuna ‘s American voice actor is maaad beautiful and masako’s American voice actor is my girl from the joy luck club!!!! Super geeked
as a Canadian, Patrick did a great job with the accent. I thought the voice actor wasn't english speaker. and I thought Lord Shimura's face model was Japanese

Ishikawa's face reminds me of the Chinese daoist from A Chinese Ghost Story.
I like how the characters in ghost of Tsushima look a lot like their English voice actor. Even khotun khan looks similar to his voice actor.

if you watch anime in Japanese voice, play this game in Japanese voice too. you will recognize most of the voices from other animes, that makes it more breathtaking and dramatic.

Your Lord Shimura is off. The Japanese one was CLEARLY the same guy for Jin, but those two characters are supposed to sound VERY different.
Thank god they managed to voice both version of Jin with Japanese VAs. It could've been very awkward

Finished the game and got the platinum trophy. And I just gotta say what a fantastic journey. To be in a era of Japanese history which isn't well known was extremely entertaining. I wanted it to be as authentic as possible so I opted for english subtitles with Japanese dialogue. However I switched because riding a horse and trying to look at the subtitles was distracting. I hope there is a continuation of Jin's story because i was hoping Jin and Yuna would get together. Can Jin regain his honor from the Shogun. And Ryuzo, there has to be some kind of conclusion. I absolutely love this story and the art was breath taking. Everyone involved in making this game. You all deserve imo the best game of 2020 award.

Bruh, They got top-tier seiryuu for this game. Nakai-san and Akio-san will be the main reason I buy this game. Hijikata from Gintama and Rider from Fate Zero were one of my favorite characters.

It's funny, cause a Japanese studio would never have made a game where the main cast is all average looking, middleaged people like in this game. They'd all be teenage super models.
I got Ghost of Tsushima a week ago for my birthday and I’ve been playing the heck out of it. I’m playing the game in English first.. and the cast is amazing... but I was so curious that I had to hear what the Japanese cast sounded like. Needless to say, this video has made me excited for my 2nd playthrough... which I will use Japanese voices.
It's nice to see Lauren Tom as Mabuki Andou. She has a good acting range, which is why she did so many different voices on Futurama.
