I have no idea why I love watching Gail and Alex digging around in the garbage but I do !
I have missed your video's! Thank you for posting one today. Love that you found a bucket list item. My 92 yr old Mother is in the hospital and we were talking about you. She was so afraid she would miss your video. I had to tell her we could watch it together anytime even at the hospital. She has pneumonia. And is a big fan of yours.
Can we just appreciate the fact that a brass paper roller survived not being pillaged for scrap metal during WWII?
The bottomless bud vase would be a fabulous trumpet flower with a glued on metal cap like on a Christmas ornament.
I love it that mother and daughter have the same interests and hang out together looking for treasures. You are both so sweet and it makes me happy when you find something special. Your happiness is contagious. 🥰🥰🥰
My grandfather ( I’m, er, over 60 and from Scotland) used to say that if you got stung by nettles, rub them with dock leaves. He claimed they always grew near each other. So we never worried about nettles, just rubbed the stings with dock 🍃 leaves. I urge you to try it. It really works. Dock leaves are big wide long leaves that grow in bunches. Another great video. Always makes me smile. You take me along for the adventures…. I love it 🎉
We do same in Yorkshire ❤️😘
My dad taught me this too 🙌🏻
If you can't find dock leaves. Carry a tiny container of alkaline. Milk. Bi carbonate. etc. The stings are rather painful and last for an annoying long time. Wonderful video though. Xxxx
The mother had sense to wear gloves.
@@feeltheforce10 WoW! Sounds like you are Insinuating Alex has no sense 😮
Those ceramic things with holes in would make good flower arrangement holders for the stalks of flowers in a vase.
That's what I thought it was, a flower frog melted by fire or slumped in a kiln.
@@krazedvintagemodel I believe it’s a “coal” from a gas fire
Man I was starting to have withdrawals from viewing your channel. Thank you for your hard work.
That nettle sting sure looks like it HURTS! So happy for another bucket list item crossed off the list. The bisque doll is adorable. Thanks for all the great history too!
Oh no, Alex! Your poor hand looks so painful! Bless your hearts the both of you!
I love the beautiful black glass coat buttons. They are so beautiful. So happy for your find of a penny doll - complete! She is amazing also.
You lady's have such great content! So addictive , educational, really appreciate the work you do.
3:20 I was wondering if that cute little peg could once have been part of a cribbage board set? It would have been a super cool set. If it was, wouldn't you love to see the entire set? 😊
How delightful to see a Schwoo again! How have missed her!
Congratulations on the bucket lister!!! She's fantastic! The green horn thing looks like part of an epergne.
The broken tile would have been so pretty glued in the back of a shadow box and used as wall art. I’m guessing it was hand painted and would be wonderful in a collection of 3 or more in different designs and sizes. The shape it was broken into was even a plus in its appeal. Love that you found the little doll in such beautiful condition.
What a wonderful time I had watching you both uncover treasures!
friendly tip from a metal detectorist, you should take a squirty bottle filled with water with you. then you can clean the porcelain dolls and buttons etc with less contact
That’s a great tip!
Cheers for finding the complete little doll. Love watching you treasure hunt.❤
I'm glad you decided to keep the flower shaped piece of glass with the long stem Alex, I thought it looked cute. I like that basket weave pipe with the leaf pattern. That black button I thought would make a cute doll's hat. It's amazing what a trained eye will see that a noob like me would just of passed over.
Lovely Video ladies. I am really Happy that you havefinally found another Bucket Lister.
The green glass fluted piece could be part of an epergne . It would make a pretty tussy mussy hanging on a Christmas tree filled with a lacy doily and treats! Congratulations on finding your little doll. She's adorable! But I love the pouring ink.
I can't help but smile when you two get so excited when you find a treasure from your bucket list! Larking with you ladies is on my bucket list! Happy Holidays!
Love the doll body and baby face necklace!!!
Again holes left open!! But what great finds.I actually clapped with joy at you finding your "frozen Charlotte"
I gasped aloud at the shot of the sparkly black button. Wow! Thanks for sharing your adventures!
It's so BEAUTIFUL EVERYWHERE YOU TWO GO.
Such a lovely watch n share time with you ladies..and ohhhh the excitement!
Wonderful little treasures and bundles of goodness... always makes me smile..
You ladies are such fun … treasures you two are treasures…you bring the past to life with much care…greetings from California 💐
I'm SO Happy for you ladies to have found a complete penny doll, and a big one at that! Also, so many little beads and beautiful buttons. It was your lucky day!
It was really, really hard because I'm soooo addicted to this channel! But: Heureka! I did it, I really did it! I had the discipline and patience to save/keep a video from the gorgeous, enthusiastic lasses for watching it on Monday. Again: It was really hard to withstand the temptation!
Now let's watch it.
If you have Horse's tail or snake grass near by, they can be applied to the Nettle stings to make the stinging go away.
Plantain leaves can be mushed up and applied to the rash as well.
Yes! Answered my comment/question. 😁
What an amazing day of Larking. Super finds and Wow just perfect . Congratulations ladies , well done .🧡💛💚💙
Congratulations on the penny doll find. Really liked the 2 glass buttons. They cleaned up nicely
Owwww…bad nettles!🤕
Great fun today & excitement. Very kind of you to 😮 leave bottles and such for others. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Some of us (including me) don’t have this opportunity to venture out and treasure hunt. You fill that excitement and desire in our (my) life. Thank you. ♥️
I am new to your channel, from the US, and enjoy your videos very much. I have a similar hobby in that I search for Native American artifacts . When you found the porcelain doll by only seeing a small portion of it exposed it reminded me that finding arrowheads, etc. often you only see a small edge or tip exposed and you learn to search for those rather than a whole piece exposed, which is very rare. Then the excitement in the recovery if the piece is intact is really the best.
What a wonderful day you had. Lots of dolls bits and bobs and a whole frozen charlotte at last. The flutted vase was nice too and would have sat in a ring with others for flowers. I wonder if the strange holey thing was an element out of an old gas fire as when I first worked for the PDSA I had a gas fire in my office with things like that in. You two be careful walking through those overgrown dumps we don't want to lose you down a big hole!!
That doll face pendant is beautiful!
Great video and great finds!
The way the mud has stuck to the little doll, looks like she’s got in a little pair of knickers lol
lovely hoard and I am so pleased to see shwoo again
I LOVE the black buttons. every where i go i find buttons and keep them all.🥰
You guys make me so happy. You find such pleasure in what other people find as junk. My name is junk girl on a action site and some people question that name. I try to explain that not all junk is bad. Some is a treasure to someone else. ❤❤❤
That was clever making that fireplace and the flames look really good. Your room is coming together nicely
I got x3 stonewear inks £1
00 each and x1 large one with cider vinegar with a picture & writing on £2.00 from a local charity shops near me
Such fantastic little finds! Those buttons are amazing, they look so nice all cleaned up, and the dolls head with the one little tooth is cracking me up. 😆 Love the history of the stoneware, it's such a nice color too...

Wonderful finds! I'm always surprised how detailed and precise mourning buttons are... Especially a hundred years before computer design etc, brilliant craftsmen back then. Glad your shop has been doing well as you are both brilliant craftspeople!
So happy, for you two, and your bucket list finds. Hugs.

I always love seeing your table of cleaned up finds with one of the shrews peering through the window! They are precious birds.
The wild turkeys at my place like to sneak up to the windows to see if I’m inside with some seeds to toss out for them. I look forward to seeing you next week! Bye from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Congrats on the doll! Those black buttons are amazing!
Love you guys! I enjoy the history, treasures, and the the things you create. Watching you reminds me of the treasures my mother and I searched for together. I’m surprised Gail put back that green glass fluted thing! That’s gorgeous!
So much fun! Lovely treasures! Congrats on your complete Frozen Charlotte/Pudding Doll!!
Your joy is contagious! Great way to start my day❤️💜💚
I bet that crusty burnt pipe bowl would make an awesome fairy house with the texture on the bowl might make them look like wood.
I love the little doll it is beautiful great video as always
I'm so glad I found you ladies! Excellent finds and history too! Thanks so much for sharing!! I'll keep watching for sure!
One of the main reasons I watch your channel is I will make an observation to myself and Wham! one of you lovely ladies repeat what I just thought! What a relief to watch 😗
Hello,
I love your finds today, as usual descriptions are so Articulated, very interesting. Great viewing, 🕊🙏
Great find congratulations on the darling doll and Gorgeousness coat buttons 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
Two of my favourite mudlarks! I love the big black coat buttons, I remember my Mum having some of those! Like many in those days she used to save every button for other garments that she used to make. Happy memories for me! Only I’m nowhere near as talented as she was !
The black buttons are beautiful. ❤
What an interesting and diverse lark you had! Someone must have thrown out old coats along with jewelry toy dolls. Interesting to think of what has rotted away and what has been left behind. Love those ink bottles. Thanks for sharing the journey, have a great week, already looking forward to your next video. xx
Hello Gail and Alex! I've been trying to catch up on your video's and I'm just loving it!! Congratulations on the 1.7" doll, what an amazing bucket list find. I've really missed all the excitement y'all bring in every adventure. There's never a dull moment with our "digging diva's"...the Northern Mudlarks!! Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!!🤗💙😉
Beautiful finds such a variety Alex your hand looks really sore. Hope it's healed well. Lovely video. Thanks so much
Hi you both are brilliant thanks xxxx debbie xxxxx
I think the white ceramic button is a ‘piecrust’ . there were
‘inkwells’, ‘tires’ and ‘calicos’ and many other small ceramic buttons from the mid 1800s. That’s all I remember from the button club days 20 years ago.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures and your lovely finds. I just love the buttons. I'd love to see the stylish coats those buttons were on.
Alex you are like a sunshein and you have lovely mother .thank you ,from germany ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic video of finds!! Thank you
Congratulations on your little dolly find!🥳🙌🏼 The two Jet buttons are sooo gorgeous. What a wonderful finds ladies.👀 GL and HH on your next adventure, can’t wait what you find next!🍀Blessings and love send from Christine in Canada🙏🏼♥️👋🏼🇨🇦
You guys are the BEST at restoring and cleaning what you find. I love it!
Being stuck indoors in the city through the pandemic your larks ment alot to me. I'd visited Scotland for a month and London fir a week just before we all got locked in, so it was so nice to revisit the landscape, see breathtaking nature sometimes (like when you went for gems in the mountains or seaglass and granates on the beach) and the little tune you chose for your channel signature will forever produce special associations with the comfort and wonder of your mudlarks in troubled times of isolation. Thank you girls! I've been waiting for years for you to finally find her, and at last you did! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🌟
Aw, thank you so much! xx
Hi I wish I could go with you both to the bottle dump. So interesting. I believe the green uranium glass belong in an a aperin.
Congratulations on your bucket list find. The tiny bone peg reminds me of the pegs used for keeping score on a cribbage board. Thank you for the video.
I'm so happy for you finding the first whole doll, she's georgeous.wish I was there digging with you and your mother, just so much fun wondering what your going to find next.stay safe out there and happy holidays.
Some great finds this time! I'm a sucker for buttons and those are lovely, especially the big one! They can be quite collectible too.
Congratulations on your lifetime find....When I was 12 I lived in England and we use to run through the nettles and get covered with stings....I guess we were stupid. I don't remember them hurting much. Maybe nettles have gotten much more potent and hurt worse than they use to........Thanks for what you do.
Beau Travail comme d'habitude🔬🍀Toujours UN véritable moment de Détente🎬Alex France🌹🌹🙏
Fabulous finds ladies! It was such a great bunch of finds but the little dolly was my favorite! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
This is me, sighing with pleasure at the beginning of this video, and with sadness at the end. 😮💨😉 That was a wonderful dump ratch. Congratulations on the complete penny doll. 🥳 More clay pipes, mourning buttons, ink bottles, bottle stoppers, beads, and a knuckle bone for your collections. 👏 So many treasures that it's no wonder you have to think harder about what you take and what you leave behind. 🤔😝 See you again next week. 😍💛👍
That's a proper mourning button
Gorgeous finds, love the little doll, the doll face, and the green flower tube. Not to mention all the ink bottles, pipes, beads and those lovely black buttons. You outdid yourselves with everything you found. I get such a thrill when both of you find things and your so happy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💗💗💗💗💗
Congrats ladies!!!
Fabulous! I appreciate you sharing your adventures.
Great finds! Love the buttons.
You find the coolest thing and turn them into beauties!
