- Is a pressure drop an output from a calculation, or is it an input into the design process? Is it both? I explain I what I found confusing about equipment design.

Process with Pat is the place to come for perspective and to ask stupid questions. I want you to leave more knowledgeable, confident, motivated, and most importantly, curious. I also want to invigorate a field that seems tired and uninspiring, at least if you get your perspective from internet forums. These are not lectures. This is a place for you to leave thinking “Oh! That’s why...”
This channel is not only for chemical engineers - anyone who works with processes should be able to find something of value here.

01:09 We calculate pressure drops for the equipment we design all the time in college. Wish someone had explained this to me earlier! Thanks Pat!
Glad I could help! The other problem I found was that you don't really know what question to ask - like you don't know what you don't know... Subscribe! More to come...
Amazing video Patryk! Crystal clear explanation!
Thanks Kisalay! Hope you're doing well!
Another amazing video Pat!
So simple and helpful!
This makes a lot of sense, love it! 👏 Stoked for more content
I wish I found this Channel at the beginning of my plant design. 3 weeks left still so helpful ty!
Same situation here! Left with less time with my project.
Amazing! Waiting for more videos!
Amazing videos, really enjoy your work.
Learnt something today. Thanks
Thank you, more videos please!
Absolutely...
Great explanation!
Honoured by your presence! Even the experts need a refresher, huh?
Hi Pat,
Great video, thanks !
But how is the pressure drop budget chosen when the PFD is made ? On which criteria ?
Hi, Hugo. I am not Pat, but I can answer- it depends on pump and pipelines of the system. And that part vary on size and cost (and history, if it is brownfield).
