  • Hey guys! This is an early 90s Shogun, probably '92'. It fit 700c wheels from factory so it was a perfect bike for this retro gravel build. The frame was quite rough from when I saw the pictures on the marketplace, but i was confident I could clean it up well and give it a new life.
I'm very pleased with the way it turned out and how it rides. These older steel frames always ride very smooth and comfortable, perfect for longer rides. The frame, however, does obsorb a bit of the power you're putting through the bike, so your effort feels slightly muted. So a race machine it is not! But a great all-around, comfortable, road, gravel, adventure, touring bike, it most definitely is.
Everything just works on the bike, shifting is smooth, the brakes pull you up well, the seat is great and it handles everything i throw at it, and its seen some very rough terrain and mega steep hills.
I love riding this bike. It is great to have in the fleet to ride on all occasions and to lend out to others who want to experience an adventure ride.
Hope you enjoy the build, I have a more mtb build coming up soon.

@plainsabertooth7828 if it didn't clean up where I was happy with it, i was going to strip the paint off and rust it up. But I really like the way it looks as is..... for now :)

Awesome build! Just picked one of these up in hard rubbish and about to do a similar build. What width are the tyres you’re running? Keep up the good content!
