Another reason why Kate is angry with Amber it’s because when Amber smuggled the dogs into Australia she wrote a statement saying Kate was supposed to check the dogs and she didn’t which was not true and the Australian government is looking into perjury charges against Amber for lying.

I hope he looks more into the evidence once the case is over, but the point of his videos is to break down what the Jury would be experiencing. He is intentionally going into this while avoiding outside influence. As frustrating as it is, and as much as I want to correct him on stuff, his unique take is pretty helpful.

This is also the woman that allegedly, Amber used to lie to get out of charges being pressed against her in Australia. Amber snuck her dogs in without being declared and she and another employee of hers lied and said Kate said she did all the required paperwork which wasn't true. The employee came out and admitted Amber blackmailed him using his job to make the false statement and blame Kate James.

Public humiliation was fine for the abusive men during the MeToo years, so it should be fine now since Depp alleges that he was victimized by her.

Glad Dr Honda brought up MeToo and power imbalance and legal threats against victims near the end there... it seems to me like a lot of the reaction to this case online is a disturbingly gleeful backlash against MeToo and "believe women". I find Heard's accusations against Depp more credible than not based on the evidence presented thus far, but even if one thinks she's not credible, the mockery and vilification of a possible IPV victim, and the SA and IPV myths I've seen circulated around this case are disturbing, and also likely harmful to the male victims of abuse (who are not excluded from MeToo) that many claim to be rallying around this case in support of. As someone who once had a lot of hope that MeToo would really vastly improve general awareness and attitudes and make things safer for victims coming forward and reduce victimization... I don't know if many actually took the messages of the movement in, but it often since has seemed to me not.

I agree! It feels like some are anti-Heard alongside believing victims vs anti-abuse/helping victims wherever possible. It annoys me because believe all victims is meant to be about therapy and police investigating/doing due diligence rather than meaning the other person is guilty by law.

I agree, I think this is why it has gone public, he tried arguing and realised that wasnt healthy, so got out, it got worse. It went to the media and got worse, he got hauled to court the first time and got worse, tried to get her to stop and defend himself, she refused. According to one of the leaked tapes no one would beleive him. I dont think he felt had anything else to loose as he was tarnished across the media and it works, he did go public, to be honest what the media can make up is not worse than what johnny has said himself. So amber was warned to stop this, she continued and its now got to this point, its rough but I think this itself is a way of healing, getting all the truth out so there is nothing left.

The Main thing that bothers me about AH's claims are all the random pics of JD passed out, the property damage and what appears to be staged photos of cocaine and booze with JDs drug case laying there but No real pics of her injuries...if they were rolling around in broken glass and if he head butted her, punched her, broke her nose etc... WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?
Apparently the day after this incident, she went on a late night talk show and the makeup artist has said no bruising was apparent....it just doesn't make sense to me and I've been through some of the stuff she's claiming. I firmly believe she was the aggressor and took those pics to frame JD as a "bad guy". I know he said n did some nasty stuff too but I don't believe he beat her as claimed. I hope after this she gets some help. She has a one year old daughter to care for and I worry for them both...

I personally would not sacrifice my reputation and career because the the person responsible for them has a personality disorder.
I believe this man has suffered enough in private, and was left pretty broken by her, but her need for revenge, her compulsion to crush him into a podium for her to stand on, was too much, for even a very introverted victim, to withstand.
She is the architect of his disaster, and ultimately, her own.

For context, Amber stole her former personal assistants abuse story. Amber got her to open up about it and then told it like her own. I think Amber's lawyers gave her a rough time, but her story has always been consistent.

I'm really disappointed in you as a therapist. I understand you want to look at her possible mental issues and have empathy for her, but I haven't heard you say how horrible it must've been for depp to be abused by her? How horrible it must've felt to then have her drag his name through the mud. How horrible it must be having all his dirty laundry aired out just so he can get justice and a fair trial. You say that you don't have a bias and that men can be victims too, but you don't seem to be concerned about his possible suffering at all.

Your example of the parents who weren’t able to be very present for their child at the beginning and then found themselves with a very challenging teenager is so heartbreaking and resonates with me. It’s only since I started therapy that I’ve been able to realise how hard it was for my parents when I was born. They had just escaped war in Yugoslavia, were now living in a country where they didn’t speak the language, and got pregnant… with twins!!! My mom was taking care of my sister and I all by herself while my dad was working long hours, and they were so young. Through the years, their financial and social situation got way better, and I can see how much more secure and confident my brother (who they had when I was 11) is! I’m a little jealous tbh 😅 but at least I can now talk with them about it and have empathy for them, and for me.

    “Does she deserve this?”
    - She did drag Depp through the mud all these past years when she made the accusation publicly against him. Likely one-sided, without full/true context (at least based on latest witnesses’ testimonies), without mentioning her alleged abusive acts towards him. He already suffered years - not weeks as in her case - of public shaming and labelling because of this, when people judged him before even considering any evidence. He was cancelled already. If he’s innocent, or even if he’s equally a victim of abuse, doesn’t he deserve empathy and sympathy? Isn’t it his right to seek justice, have facts laid out, legally?
He did this through legal means whereas AH chose to capitalize on metoo, cancel culture, jumped on opportunity to work with ACLU to make it a big PR piece, timed it well to promote herself and her new movie. That was opportunistic.
    - I believe there was also evidence she threatened to go public with these allegations and told Depp no one would believe him being abused? If true, she wasn’t hesitant to get all public attention as long as it benefited her.
    - Shouldn’t she also be accountable for the hurt and harm she has caused to others? Victims of her emotional and physical abuse deserve empathy and sympathy.

But how should he vindicate himself if he is innocent? He was publicly shunned at her word all the while she acts innocent. AH already accused JD of abuse back in 2016 and JD quietly settled and paid her $7million. They released a joint statement and if she didn't want her dirt to be dragged up, this would have been a good place for her to stop and win. But in 2018 she published that Op-Ed to the Washington Post, despite their joint statement. Not just a fringe tabloid. The Washington Post. She was ASKING for this issue to come back and go public. You wish that we can have justice for JD without this going public. Sure. But how? At this point, "justice" for JD is repairing the damage to his public image AH has caused. And the only way for that to happen is to bring this to the public. Because AH chose to use the public against JD first.
I think we the public should refrain from mocking AH for all her problems that have come to light. Maybe they were borne from trauma that she had no control over. But that doesn't absolve her responsibility for this being in the public in the first place. Or at least, don't blame JD for defending himself/standing up for himself in the only way that makes sense given the circumstances AH created.

I have been fairly annoyed watching the trial and her performances on the stand, and maybe it's my own countertransference from dealing with BPD individuals in the scope of my own professional, but when she is talking about/being asked about the night of her 30th bday party and Johnny was several hours late, I actually felt incredibly empathetic in that moment because I saw very momentarily genuine sadness and pain, and I felt bad for her bcuz think if it were you - it's your 30th Bday, a huge milestone for someone that age, and you wanted him to just show up and be there for you because I'm sure in her eyes (and in most people's eyes) your loved one being there is proof/confirmation that they love you and you are important to them ... And for someone with BPD, this would feel even more excruciating that your husband didn't show up to your 30th bday dinner, and then showed up late and intoxicated after a horrible business meeting gone wrong (finding out all his money is gone) ... And then I started to realize (god, this sounds so bad) that she is still a real person with real feelings and emotions and having to sit there day in and day out, being questioned and examined by someone who is as masterful as Camille Vasquez, having all these secret details of your life and your mental health laid bare for all to see ... It just has to be incredibly devastating for her, whether or not she "brought this on herself," considering she is only a 30smthng young woman with several mental health challenges that skew towards people making terribly impulsive decisions that majorly impact theirs and others futures, and thru cognitive distortions and emotional deregulation, being unable to clearly see and assess the actual situation. I feel concerned for her ability to recover from this trial ... And I don't mean in terms of her career, I mean in terms of mentally and emotionally - and now she has an infant at home, i just worry for her and hope she can get the help she needs

I don't know if Kate was being purposely vague in that statement, but from what I gather, what she was actually referring to was Heard mentioning that she'd had a conversation with Kate about Kate's SA, and that there was some discussion of the word "victim" vs. "survivor" - this being the story Heard "stole", not the actual details of Kate's SA.

1."Ms. Heard referred to a conversation we had" - so Heard herself was bringing up that she had a conversation with James about her SA? Does this make sense if she intended to "steal" James's SA experience?
      2. "As I perused the documents... I discovered that in fact Ms. Heard had stolen my SV conversation..." - James herself again is saying that Heard "stole" and "twisted" their conversation, not her actual SA experience. And as I understand it, with Heard's SA accounts in the UK trial being sealed, James would not have had access to peruse any documents of Heard's actual accounts of SA.
      3. James gives zero details in her statement on what details of her SA story Heard allegedly stole. Why? Obvious answer: because she doesn't actually know the details of Heard's SA accounts, and doesn't have any actual evidence that Heard "stole" anything from her own SA experience.
It appears from her statement that James is saying, in perhaps a deliberately ambiguous way, that Heard referred to the conversation they had about James' SA, and that James was upset to have that conversation referred to in this context. James is claiming that that amounts to Heard stealing and twisting her SA story, which is something of a distortion, imo.

Dr Kirk I've been a long time fan and love your videos, but I feel you've been quite biased and unfair towards Johnny Depp in this series. In this video you spent maybe 10 minutes talking about how terrible it is that this trial is public, how Amber Herd has to deal with her public image being damaged and possible damage to her career -- but you didn't even mention Johnny. This is what the entire trial is about -- Amber Herd published an article which everyone assumed was about Johnny Depp, which destroyed his public image, caused articles to be written calling him a wife beater, and destroying his career. Now we're seeing evidence that maybe this was made up. We can't know of course. But you're going to such lengths to try to protect Amber that you're completely ignoring the exact same thing happened to Johnny.

The case in UK was behind closed doors and did only judge if the sun newspaper had reasonable grounds for calling Mr Depp a "wife beater", not the alleged abuse per se. She have republished the op-ed again after some years. It was also she who went to court first bcs Mr Depp didn't give in to the demands for spousal support and other things in the beginning of divorce so it's much her own doing. I really respect Dr Honda from all the videos I’ve watched of his. However, I cannot get onboard with his views on this video. It is interesting to me that Dr Honda empathises with Amber so much despite the information he is receiving from this witness about how unpleasant and downright reprehensible her behaviour is. I believe Dr Honda has a bias - he believes that Amber may have BPD and HPD and I think his therapist-self is kicking in and he seems to massively outweigh his sympathy for Amber vs for Johnny. Throughout this entire video I did not hear Dr Honda wondering the devastating harm Amber’s actions and words may have caused this witness and Johnny. I know he mentioned Amber may have abused Johnny, but being abused is one thing - being accused of DV and rape for the entire fucking world to see is another.
This is all Amber’s doing as Johnny has tried to resolve this issue privately with Amber many, many, many times. They’re all on tape for all of us to hear. He’s pleaded with her. He’s tried to write a public letter together. He’s even paid her $7m in divorce settlement and $7m of the additional taxes and other costs. He let Amber’s friend Rocky and her fiancé live in his house rent free. He let Amber’s sister Whitney live in his house rent free for nearly 2 years.
Amber’s been destroying his name and his reputation ever since Johnny denied her divorce demands in 2016 (6 additional years of harassment if you will) - again, this paper is publicly available too due to their trial in the UK. She demanded a Range Rover, 2 penthouses with mortgages and utilities paid for life, $50k of cash per month for life and her attorney fees of $125k paid. When Johnny denied these, she filed for a temporary restraining order and reported to every paper and news station that he had been abusing her and physically assaulting her.
Then on the eve of her new film Aquaman, she published that op-ed in WaPo. The title itself alleges Johnny raped her.
I mean I don’t know what level of patience Dr Honda has, but I sure would’ve cracked by this point too and sought some redemption and made sure it’s as public as possible so people can judge for themselves.
I’ve seen several news outlets with edited photos of Amber to show her looking more bruised than in the court photos. Articles with very misleading titles and messaging that has been spun away from the reality of the trial. Therefore, I think it is good and important for the trial to be public.

I just wish that at the end of the video or segment you would give a summary of your thoughts given everything youve seen thus far from an objective standpoint. It seems like sometimes you just react to each individual instance, which I understand because these videos are supposed to help all of us and they definitely do. However, the fault with this is that there are times when you are behind the pack with catching up on this stuff (again, completely understandable) and as a consequence some of your statements indicate that you dont believe _____ is at fault. I've noticed with me and by reading the comments that this can actually be damaging to people who have experienced abuse in similar ways mentioned. I always love your input and you're very careful about how you word things, which is amazing but I think this is an issue that you could easily resolve either with a tiny bit more communication to viewers or by a slight adjustment to video structure. Crushing shame is often a gigantic part of the BPD experience. Outwardly denying culpability is a defense mechanism. In Heard's case I can't really say definitively but I would guess that she does feel shame and remorse inwardly but is often incapable of facing that because of abandonment fears and the intensity of devastation that shame brings. If you consider that most people in general have issues with accountability because it feels like if they admit wrongdoing that means they're a bad person, and that feels awful, it becomes a little more reasonable to assume that when that shame is magnified exponentially it may cause the person to run from it frantically. You touched one great reason behind public court - "... so the press can scrutinize it", and you have it almost right. Only it's not press, but it's you, me, anybody - we can see for ourselves and make our own opinion.
That's why public court is vital. You cannot trust press. You cannot trust government. You cannot trust "spokepersons".
With public court you can go and see yourself - make sure something is not obscured, lied about, make sure that law is not misapplied like prosecutors are trying to do and government is not trying some sh-. to get someone jailed. With closed court you have no way to check that.
BTW this trial is televised, which "only" means TV cameras are allowed in court. Even if cameras were not allowed, you can still go and sit in gallery.

    • @GoddessoftheGalaxies
      @GoddessoftheGalaxies 2 роки тому +1

Thank you so much for this comment. All court hearings should be public to make sure the law is applied correctly. Look at the Brittany Spears case and currently the Bam Margera & Wendy Williams cases.
There is another missing point that he didn’t touch on. If Amber really lied about all of or most of all the abuse, than she caused damage to JD (career, image, his psychological wellbeing, etc) and if it is lies then he would know that. If you know you are innocent then you would want the case open to the public for all to hear. IF that is the case… then Amber isn’t a victim having to have all her lies and behavior aired out. JD would be the victim and would be vindicated. And if she did lie this is going to make it harder for women who actually get abused. It is just so sad.

You're missing context as well (which happens when you're jumping around testimonies, but also when you don't know anything about the UK trial).
Kate James made a sworn statement in the UK trial (in this deposition they mention it only in so far as they ask if she still stands by the statements she made in the letter she wrote in the UK trial), where she accused Amber Heard of stealing her horrifying sexual assault that happened to her in Brazil that she told Heard in confidence (likely before she knew the type of person Heard really was) that Heard then used "as her OWN sexual assault story".
On top of that, Heard also asked her to lie for her and take the blame for the Australia incident (where she took her two dogs into Australia illegally, knowing FULL well it was illegal - there's emails proving this) and when Kate James REFUSED, Heard went ahead and bullied Kevin Murphy into lying under oath (he later retracted his statement) blaming Kate James for the paperwork not being filled out on time (Kate James' mother called her from her hometown, where an article in their hometown paper ran a story that it was KATE JAMES to blame).
This is the woman so many people keep coming forward saying "I feel sorry for her". Really? I mean, REALLY!?!?!?
You can feel bad that she has mental health issues that she CLEARLY is not getting help for, but bloody HELL. Stop feeling sorry for a woman that has tried to RUIN lives to BENEFIT herself. Believing she deserves mental health help should NOT equal EXCUSING her WRETCHED, INEXCUSABLE behaviour!

Although I understand where you are coming from about worrying about Amber and it being televised I believe this had to
Happen because Amber has gotten away with using the ne too movement, ACLU to sadly promote her career and fame. It is very sad to have it brought out in the open of how the ACLU was a co-conspirator in a hit piece of Johnny. The ACLU would not have looked twice at her if her story did not have Johnny Depp in it. It was about money for the ACLU and promoting Aquaman fir AH and being relevant. The fact that they literally wrote in emails that they needed JD in the OP-ed for more traction and timed it on the release of Aquaman. They destroyed a person's life and family, JD kids were in school and no one thought about their emotions and having their school mates have their opinions. No one has said anything about what JD had to go through feeling that everyone was believing the lies, he was also probably at risk of hurting himself too. So no. I dont feel sorry for her because we all have to be held accountable for our actions and having a diagnosis of mental health issues does not make it okay to Intentionally destroy someone with what is now coming out as lies and recordings show how AH was very abusive and also her admitting she physically abused JD and she perjured herself in the UK trial also make it very difficult for his kids. Look at her UK trial, and compare her demeanor from the UK and US trial currently on. Her current testimony is sad because of her decision to be so fake and dramatic. Nit sure if you are aware but the Assistant had 2 other serious reasons to hate AH. See AH got caught smuggling in her to yorkies to Australia and did not declare them and follow their laws. She I'm an email admitted to the attorney that she would get her ex assistant to write a letter that it was her fault, the attorney knew this was a lie and cautioned AH that it can backfire on her. She asked her assistant and she said no, so AH went to JD assistant and told him he had to state in a letter that her ex assistant was at fault or he would loose his job. He did wr6the letter and when the assistant found she did this she wrote to the Australia au8that this was a lie and she was not even there or working for AH and that AH had asked her to write the letter to help her and she said no. The FBI is currently investigating AH perjury because JD assistant has cone forward with emails showing AH forced him to lie and the assistant was not at fault or he would loose his job. 2. Her assistant shared with AH her SA story of being SA at knifepoint in Brazil. Later the assistant said she read AH shared a story of being SA in the me too movement and AH used her story as her own and her assistant was angry she could do that. These were not allowed to be brought in the trial even though in the assistant's deposition it was in there. So AH has lied and done the unthinkable of using someone else's SA story, AH in my opinion is calculating and does not care about anyone but herself. So again, I do not worry about her at all.
