Mafias split their spheres of influence, but they could not spur any fire in people to go fight their own family, so they avoided war knowing that if they went for it, it would errupt between citizens and government rather than Czechia a slovakia, but it also means, the whole process got through with zero support, no movements for separation, no parties advocating for split, no referendum(which was constitutionally required). And overall war would be more democratic than apathy, but people didn't want to go fight their own country's army which was armed to teeth if the split was going to happen peacefully. Which makes yugo a weird example as everyone there was all too happy to go kill their lifelong friends and I can't comprehend the level of brainwashing.

But in reallity the Kingdom of Hungary offered realtive freedom for it's nationalities to develope their own modern written languages, culture and national identity. Was it the intention of the royal goverment? Probably not... they wanted to centralize the administration of the country, that's why they implemented some reforms - like making the hungarian language official - that the minorities in some way rightfully felt as an assimilation attempt. Also worth mentioning, that some political parties and politicians in the parlameint were radicals, and in favor of more assimilative legislations, but they never really got chance to govern... until you know what happened... and everything after the become "balkanish"

      Not... quite.
By "the Greek guy" I presume you mean Saint Cyril, who did invent a script for his missionary work to Great Moravia (alongside his brother Methodius), but it was not the Cyrillic alphabet, but the Glagolitic alphabet, which quickly fell out of use. At this time, both the Pope and the Patriarch (read: the Emperor) in Constantinople were trying to convince the various Slavic groups to adopt their version of Christianity; the Moravians saw the benefit of joining the one their neighbours the Frankish empire did and when the Pope forbade the use of any liturgical language other than Latin and Greek, Great Moravia followed suite, got rid of Old Church Slavonic, which was written in Glagolitic, and adopted Latin, written in the Roman alphabet.
The Cyrillic alphabet was invented by Cyril's followers in Bulgaria, who adapted the Greek alphabet to better fit Slavic phonetics (unlike the Glagolitic script, which was invented wholly from scratch).

Yeah, Turkey kidnapped children of other nationalis and made them into fanatics.
The existence of Janissaries was more of a reason to hate Turkey as a Balkan. "Janissaries did bad things" was more of a Austrian-Hunagrian thing.
