A little outing on a great little bike. There was more, but the camera battery said 'no'. Still, some nice scenery taken in and the little Cub was going well.
Triumph used to advertise the purchase of a Tiger Cub as a second bike to have to save putting miles on your big Triumph 650. I love 💕 riding my motorcycles even if I am just going to the store.
Thanks for that, Chris. I have a few other Tiger Cub videos in my collection here, including three of this machine on a tour around Llyn Brianne Dam and a faster run towards Lampeter on my Sports Cub.
A foreign waiter at my dad's hotel dumped one when he went home. I commandeered it and got it going. The neighbours complained about the noise so i took it apart and brought it with me to boarding school where I road it in the extensive land of the school in 1974/5. It was SO much fun as a 15 year old. Your video brought back some awesome memories, thanks. I wish I kept the bike! I have one photo of it! I really miss it.
@@paulhenshaw4514 They don't seem that little when you're 14/15. I commandeered two other bikes as well:) Then got an FS1E at 16. Not had a bike since but now thinking about getting back on the saddle. Cars are being driven off the road by the cancer of cancel culture.
Ah, that takes me back. I had a 62 Cub when I was 16, 50 years ago, my first proper bike. When I see one now, compared to my T140, I wonder how I fitted on it (I was 6' 3" and 15 stone). Owning one of those was the perfect introduction to the mechanical process, because there was always something that needed repairing (big end was fragile on mine, too). The impact driver I bought then for the casing screws is still in regular use and has survived a full time career in motor repairs.
I had a cub, it used to jump out of gear, lent it to my brother to get to work (Co-Op early morning milkman) sitting at home one day he said to his wife, that bike jumps out of gear just like my one!! That's the last time he heard it!! I Never did get paid for it either?? Happy days, but I don't let him forget, the "interest" is mounting up !!
ive got mine up and running few minor things not charging but works on emergency bit of pain in traffic if to low revs cuts out .yours sounds great !!!!!
The Tiger Cub was infamous for having chocolate big end bearings. They used to go through them in no time. This was sorted out on the newer models around 1968/69.
This was my first real bike,. brings back memories of me and my mate going round the lanes of northumberlland back when cars and the country roads were clear.
Happy Birthday Paul, nice bike and wonderful scenery with sunshine !!! and you rode a tiger cub, I have three a 67 T20M, 59 T20S and a 57 T20C, enjoyed the video, don't stop sharing with us.
i like the idea of the mirror on a long stem on the left , i thought you was abroad at the start . then thought , must give better vis behind than just having a short one on the right .
My 1st tiger cub was may uncle's .I tried to get on it it fell over on me I was 11years old .I could not get it of me my uncle had to lift it of me. but when i was 18 i could pick them up alwayes like the cub .sorry rabbite on a bit enjoy you cub it just sound grate
A Vincent owner sneered at my Tiger Cub once, while on a vintage bike run. I had the last laugh as I thudded past a layby with him in it, sweating on the kickstart of his broken down bike!
Very nice bike! I enjoyed the sound of this one. Although I don't fancy some of those lanes - single-track, two-way, hedgerow on either side, zig-zagging downhill, the road surface being made up of slippery mud, moon craters and boulders! Country rides are my preference, but those single-track less-used NSL roads I just find taxing. Surprised you took that carefully restored Tiger Cub there. Must have been lots of chips in your paintwork after that.
Finding one in really good order might not be easy, but they can be reliable if put together right and they are very good fun to ride, but I don't think I would want to use one as a daily commuter, to save on wear and tear for leisure use.
That's great advice. It would just be for the odd weekend blast as I would to save it for wee trips to the skatepark etc. I know they are few and far between on car and classic and who knows what's been done to them.
Thanks for the ride Paul. You have some beautiful countryside there. That looks like my favorite kind of ride. What part of England are you in? I am Terry, from very rural very northern NY state.
@@paulhenshaw4514 I looked up your location and pictures of your area. Wow, that is very beautiful there. Thanks for responding to my comment. I would go for a ride with you if I could. I like your style of ride. Right now the smallest bike that I own is a rat 1982 Honda naked GL500. I use that for most of my very rural rides around here.
No real reason, just how it worked out and the dip switch is on the other [wrong] side and has been all the time I've owned the bike. I just got used to it, I guess.
Thank you Paul, this is nostalgi. I had same -58 also in seventees, fun to ride and made people smile. Though small for my 183 cm. Looks like your gearindicator is missing? Greetings from Finland.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. The gear indicator mechanism is all present, but it has never had a cable fitted in the 41 years I have owned the bike!

wow, nice country ride in the fall. It really reminded me of some of the autumn rides I took while I lived in Missouri! Thanks for sharing!

Ah , memories of a Tiger Cub . I borrowed one form a Friend , to go and take my Motorcycle Test on , Garretts Green 1964 .
i like the idea of the mirror on a long stem on the left , i thought you was abroad at the start . then thought , must give better vis behind than just having a short one on the right .
B roads and lanes are made for old classic bikes, great fun had by all at sensible speeds.
Man, that one sounds really good.
Thanks!
Happy Birthday Paul ,Love watching your show keep them coming.
Thanks, Steve!
I love British made motor bikes.
I remember falling off the back of my mates Tiger Cub as he accelerated away from a junction. He thought it was hilarious.
It would have been.
Great view from the cockpit, a spitfire of a m/c

My Grandfather used to ride on it when he was serving the Army
He used to do Stunts
Beautiful bike!
Thanks!
I once rode a Triumph Tiger Cub it must of been fun as I could not stop laughing...

to hear a little tiger cub purr is a wonder to the ears .even with a bit of backfire ? :)
that narrow road looks like Boreen don't know what's around next turn
Are these good beginner bikes? I’m about to do my CBT then go on to get a full license and fancy a little triumph like this

Yes.
Have a look into the TC-Max from Super Soco, curious electric motorcycle that shares its styling with the Tiger Cub.
Where in wales was this thanks
