Excellent tutorial! Liked & subscribed. Is there a online forum that is good for SigmaStudio support for more complex projects. For example, I'd like to use an ADAU1701 DSP will several amplifiers, which are also have ADAU1701 DSPs. It would be great to see a tutorial on connected multiple DSPs together, with both analog and digital inputs. For example, I plan to merge AptX HD stereo signal with analog stereo signal, then equalize, apply active bass, then crossovers to multiple amps. I also want to add pots for main volume, individual amp volumes, bass, mid, treble, and analog input.
The icp5 does NOT supply power to the ADAU1701 dsp. Once i connected both the dsp started working and was able to connect in sigma. Also the files on diyaudio dont work with modern x64 O/S. Version 4.6 worked fine.
i just got a JAB4 modules and I am playing around. This bass boost moduls looks very interesting. Is is possible to integrate the ability the bass boost intensitiy to adjust by a potentiometer? I am a but unsure about everything. Is it possible to mess up everything by writing nonsense to the eprom and if yes, is there a way to reset to factory settings somehow?
I was on the brink of getting me this dsp setup, but got turned off by the fact that ADAU1701 was introduced as early as in 2008 (13 years ago). I see that there are affordable devkits available for the much more capable ADAU1452. Would you still recommend this Sure/Wondom devkit (price, performance etc.)? I like the Wondom documentation - Do you think it is possible to get other China devkits up and running this easy?
Great explanation, thank you! I'm using my dsp on a mobile rig with quite efficient speakers, and have problems with the noise floor. Do you have experience on how to reduce the hiss/hum in the background? I'm sure it is not the power supply, and could only reduce it a bit with gain staging
Johannes Wegener i also experienced that at least on some channels on this board there is a lot of noise. I’m currently not sure if this is a general problem with the ADAU1701 or a specific problem of this board. To be honest - I doubt that this problem is related to the Chip it self because otherwise ADI would be much in trouble selling this chip. So I guess it’s a board design issue
Thanks a lot for your helpful video. I have tried to build a 3-way filter (one per channel : I will use 2 DSP for my project) and don't hear any sound from the third output (sub). Do you have an idea ? Regards
i hope some one can answer this with the software can i filter sub sonic filter unwonted low frequencys from a subwoofer as i am building a 2.1 modified boombox and the O.E. subwoofer is small two 3 inch in a ported box and can not take the low stuff like 15 hz to say 30hz just a an example ?
Ira unlikley theier would be much 15hz in any digital playback device, but you can still put a high pass filer set to 20 or 30 Hz to filter out the frequencies of concern
@@overbuiltautomotive1299 The DSP is fully configurable, so you can adjust the filter frequency how ever you like. If you are just tring to limit everything below 40hz, this is absolutly possible
Excuse my ignorance but a genuine question: Every time i build a dsp based Speaker i must buy a DSP board like that? Or this is just a develpment board and we can flash the algorithm into any ADAU1701 chip?
@@YetAnotherElectronicsChannel So we use the Development board to fine tune our final project and then we flash the final code into another PCB that uses the ADAU1701 chip, for manufacturing, right?
@@exprymer no u can start directly with your design... you need only access to the I2C port of the device. Then u can connect the USB-I2C adapter to your custom board. By the way: the data is stored in an external eeprom which is also connected to the adau1701. Please check the reference manual from analog devices directly. Everything is well explained in there
@@exprymer The board shown in the video has everything you need to make this your own. You CAN design your own PCB around this, with for example your own amplifier on board and other things you want. But for most people, this board does fine. It's either too expensive or too complicated to design your own board. You still need most of what's on this board in your own design, perhaps minus the connectors.
Cool stuff, but for the price of all those modules you can get the minidsp with nicer interface with own filter tool. Maybe cant do all of this but for most people should be enough.
the inputs as the outputs have 3 connections each; left, right and ground. you can desolder the connectors that are installed and use others for example. 2*rca= L *gnd, R+gnd to stereo 1/4 jack which has L+R+gnd.

Hello, thanks for your nice video. I would like to ask if it's possible to copy the code from one processor and burn it on another one?
Thanks
Hello..can the adau 1701 be connected to amplifier after programming
Hi, does the dsp chip ADAU1701 has the serial port/uart where we can use to send commands in order to increase or decrease the audio volume level?

I want to just add parametric eq and set a infrasonic

Can you do an ADAU 1701 and REW video?
Hello friend!! I am using adau1401 sold from aliexpress. I do every preset. saved in eprom. but it's not starting data from the eprom.
Does anyone happen to know if the latest release of Sigma Studio is compatible with the AMP2 board? Has things changed since this video was made?

Das mit Sigmastudio betrifft wohl nur den Cypress programmer. Der ICP1 oder 3 von Sure funktioniert auch mit Sigmastudio 4.5 ohne Probleme.
Good to know. Just ordered a kit with the Sure/Wondom ICP1, and was somewhat worried I'd have to use an old version of SigmaStudio.

Good but it seems overly complicated. A bit like MSDOS, it needs windows 95
Don't bother to ask, you will not received any answer.
Too much echo in the audio. Can't understand what's being said.
