Little Al’s last start before retirement and the short comeback In his book he recalls how he just got fed up of being passed by everyone, parked the car and retired
As a Marylander I was devastated that Richmond was a pandemic casualty especially after losing pocono. I wish they would add both those races and Watkins Glen it’s tough having Mid Ohio as the closest track for East coast fans.
@@davidpeters2625 yeah Indycar needs partnerships with tracks/promoters that will aggressively promote the event. I attended Iowa this year and it was fantastic. I also attended Texas and it was so disappointing to not have an exciting weekend built around a really good race
@@Indycarfanatic2024 speaking of Texas I hope to God that IndyCar comes back to Texas in 2025. Not having it on there due to a scheduling conflict blows on so many levels
@@mackenziegalajda8601 Looking back, American open wheel racing fans were very spoiled to have two, very competitive open wheel series that offered a variety of tracks. To think the whole time people were up in arms over a split!
IRL, you da real MVP for posting all these old races

RIP Dan Wheldon... 😢
some love for the shifter kart drivers is awesome! 14:32
Indy Car is the best!

We need Richmond back in the calendar or more oval events excluding Indy will cease to exist.
Like Texas Motor speedway ended this year and return of Indycar Milwaukee Mile speedway next year.
I agree 110 percent with you about Richmond especially as a VA native.......

I live within 8 mi of Richmond raceway. 2020 was such a painful year for IndyCar fans in Virginia because we never got our Richmond date
This looks fun.
What I wouldnt give to have Richmond back on the IndyCar Schedule.......
Such a shame that it was a pandemic casualty
@@Indycarfanatic2024 that and plus the fact that it was an ISC/SMI owned track and they knew, due to lousy marketing, it would not sell tickets

I miss the IRL. You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
You and me both....
Cart was better

IRL was garbage
I think Indycar will get more aggressive and return to a pre split era of excellence
Best IRL intro ESPN ever made.
Plus, the theme song with Paul's "They're inches away at 214 MPH!" Line just hits hard.
19:53 My gosh, that car is ugly!
Miss these cars ❤
