nice trip!! other redfish spots in Plaquemine parish are..29"26.4542N 89"52.8347W...29"24.3600N 89"48.9809W...29"26.8566N 89"55.7237 and 29"21.3453N 89"49.3539....use popping cork with 4" black or purple minnow type baits...
My grandfather used to take fishing in Delacroix and Buras. He always said you can catch more specks on fresh dead shrimp, under a popping cork, than you can with live shrimp. And it costs less. Of course we trawled for our shrimp.
oh yes, buras baby Osyka locks man back before hurricane Katrina. We used to head through the locks go north up and the breathing sound up around California point at night time strictly rigs we would catch speckled trout nonstop for hours now they have all those Cutthrough‘s in the river but be warned if you’ve never been in the area you definitely need to follow your channels because it is super shallow now. Let me finish watching this video. 1:58
Sometimes DSOB, dead shrimp on the bottom, is just what the doctor ordered, occasionally the best way to a good time fishing. Once the hard heads have moved out! Great video, love when c Mac joins the crew.
Plaquemines Parish has so many species of fish, it barely makes sense. I learned a lot about the habitat, too. Once again, Mother Nature seems to have the best plan. Can’t get around it.
15:45 please make a full video or maybe a montage of Cmac covering the different passes and benefits of them. I hear so many people that curse them and looking back over the years its clear they're building land. He's very knowledgeable and is a great speaker.
2:59 actually you would be surprised how many of us under poverty people we would keep a bow red that was 28 to 30 inches when your poor you don’t care about the worms because they’re totally harmless when you cook the fish and they’re totally harmless if you freeze it for 24 hours it also kills the parasite. It’s just the middle class and upper class that don’t like to keep those fish. It’s hard for people to understand that they literally took the food off of peoples tables with that upper size slut. It was a stupid slot to enforce or make, I understand the smaller slot stepping up, but the over all sides of the fish when they’re larger it shouldn’t have mattered not a bit but it did because it’s a way they can stop people from feeding them selves. Just wait there’s more to come within the next 10 years you’ll see you’ll be limited to one tag and one redfish per season, just wait it’s coming unless people elect #47Donald Trump
Where did Neptune pass get it's name? My great grandfather's birth certificate has Neptune, Louisiana as his birthplace. Was that originally a town in Plaquemines parish?
I love fishing the river and the East side this time of year. I'm in Belle Chasse and we are catching reds in the river behind the house. There is nothing like it! Since you guys had to throw the Diversion subject into this video that was otherwise nice. (I wish you didn't), I have to put in my 2 cents in also. I've seen Myrtle Grove, Lafitte, Lake Hermitage, Happy Jack ,and the rest of the west side disintegrate at a rapid pace since a few of your wonderful Diversions were put in place. Dredging to build land can be done faster and more efficiently, get more land built for money invested, and negatively effect everyone involved less. Why don't you guys push those facts more often.
Dredging is the sprint. Siphons are the marathon. We are needing a long term solution for the future and beyond. The challenge is the state has wasted valuable time and money getting into saving our marsh.
@@user-vr7fj2gb1t We already tried to win a marathon with siphons on the west side. It didn't work, in fact if you compare the land loss with early studies that were done they were spot on in determining that the diversions would destroy the existing marsh. Its time for that Sprint
Come over to port neches Texas, can put ya on all the river reds, trout, flounder, and bass you want.

Love C-Mac. Great video

I am just saying y’all, really good video and information.

I’m definitely getting cold water trout on the brain right now 👍🏻
that cold front got me ready!
Great video. We gotta do our part to change what we can when needed.
C'MAC , I GUARANTEE YOU I CAN CATCH REDFISH AND BASS AT THE SAME PLACE HERE IN ALABAMA ON THE GULF COAST IN MOBILE COUNTY!

Can 100% do that in Texas. I’ve done it many times in different locations throughout southeast Texas
He meant specifically in the MS River
@@bvoisin you might want to view the video again where he mentions various states but specifically mentions Texas at 4:13
Definitely talking about fishing in the Mississippi River. I’ve caught redfish in Texas… but not in the Mississippi River in Texas.
you ever seen a map?
What brand braided fishing line should buy to fish with for saltwater fishing from Bass Pro?
Where did y’all launch?

Ummmm.....actuallyyyy...agree on Trump though
What launch are you’ll using and is it kayak accessible
It's called Riverside, and yes, kayaks could launch there
@@MarshManMasson Please don't try to take your kayak across the river though! Yikes.
What launch did yall leave from

Are we gonna see gates around all this new land being created? Who owns it and will the posted signs start showing up
I have been wondering if that horrible launch was still there? Thanks
It is, and it's worse than ever.
Lucky y'all went last week, & not today 10-16. 24-27 kts. But that was a good video. Later
Yeah, today would be brutal.
Marsh man. Would that trip be doable in your boat ???
Absolutely. I do it every fall.
Thanks
I'm planning on making the trip one day soon. The current and the wakes from the ships worry me. Any advice
Thanks.
This is me.
Yuuup Yuuup
Could not agree with C Mac more.
Its funny how environmental concerns are paramount unless money from shipping is involved?
They paved paradise and made it a parking lot. Quit messing with Ma Nature.
CMAC is 100% right mankind should just leave the waterways alone other than remove the storm debris
