Her voice is unreal what magic these two have together
“Rock of ages cleave for me/Let me hide myself in thee”. Beautiful. I have a hard time not tearing up on that one.
Yeah those lines really hit me. And it reminds me of a former love of mine It makes me wonder if it is the memory of her as a person or the memory of having been such a beautiful loving union together that brings me the tears. It's almost as if I was missing her or just a feeling of nostalgy. Otherwise I dont think about her. But a song reminded me of this song.
What's that line mean? Why's it such a good lyric
@@bertramblik8826 what's the line mean
@@MrJibbletz It's from a Christian hymn from the 1700s. But I'll be damned if I know what they were referring to in the hymn. Maybe someone more familiar with Christianity knows? Beautiful though.
I’m bawling. I’m so glad I’m not just crazy.
This album Lives on my turn-table. And they're right, "It ain't what you got, it's what you make".
New song for me and I must say one of the best songs I have ever heard. I must look deeper into Shovels and Rope.
+Kyle Krutsch Should be playing on the radio as we drive on down the road for sure. But change has come to Amerika
One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard...
She has the most incredible voice I've ever heard for a long long long while. She has the soul for rock n' roll.
I am blown away, yet again. Friends, KEXP, NPR Tiny Desk, and Amoeba Records 'What's in my Bag' are an endless source of inspiration. The internet doesn't always suck.
This song gives me chills.
Wow what a voice 😍
holly sht that sort of passion. this recording is amazing! i’ve been watching this for two hours now:)
Such a great song!!!! 🎶🎸🤟🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. This song has haunted me in a good way.
So in love with these two and the music they make.
Saw them at Red Rocks, one of my favorite shows ever.
Jealous!
Delta mama and a Nickajack man
Raised their Cumberland daughter in a Tennessee band
Played Springwater and Station Inn
Couldn't play fast, couldn't fit in
Caught a '66 Dodge to Caroline
Got her education on her mama's dime
She was singin' in a bar called Comatose
Halfway rusted on the salty coast
Rock of ages, cleave for me
Let me hide myself in thee
Buried in the sand
500 miles from Birmingham
Well, Rockamount cowboy in a rock and roll band
Plugged his amplifier in all across the land
Athens, Georgia on a Friday night
Saw that little girl, she could sing alright
Spent five years going from town to town
Waitin' on that little girl to come around
Caught in the arms of New York City
To lose that gal seemed a terrible pity
Rock of ages, cleave for me
Let my heart forget of thee
Why do you demand
Calling me from Birmingham
Pulled her covered wagon off the BQE
Said, "This'll be the last you'll ever see of me"
Well, the cowboy laughed said, "I know it's not true
'Cause there's nothing I could do to get a'loose from you"
Made a little money playing in the bars
With two beat up drums and two old guitars
From the Crescent City to the Great Salt Lake
It ain't what you got, it's what you make
When the road got rough and the wheels all broke
Couldn't take more than we could tow
Making something out of nothing with a scratch and a hope
Two old guitars like a shovel and a rope
Rock of ages, cleave for me
Let me hide myself in thee
Now I understand
On better terms since Birmingham
I can't love a song more than this, wherever/whenever it should be recorded.
Song makes me cry
I’m crying like a damn baby right now. I don’t understand it. Every so often, I’ll hear a song and I’ll have an overwhelmingly emotional response to it. Even happy, upbeat songs. It still catches me off guard, even though I try to anticipate it. 😪
This is so good! She's got so much passion
this is my fav version for sure😊
Beautiful,, Number One song . Gives me goosebumps . Xxxxxx

Any idea what harmonica key he is playing...?
With my limited knowledge of harmonica I could be wrong, but I think it's C. Especially when she is playing a G,C,and E.

Question... Why is this song not available in Spotify? Neither the album? There were any controversy?
