- It has always bothered me that people don’t spread the positive content. As it relates to Aretha and Patti. I wanted to post this clip because many hasn’t seen it.

The media wants you to think it's a beef... Patti was always open about her beef with Diana.. but she always spoke highly of Aretha..

But Aretha did shade her on some occasions😉 I think Patti knows Aretha well enough not to take Aretha too seriously. Aretha was a woman with a barbed tongue and a certain 'haughtiness' that people can misconstrue. Patti understood that.

I have NEVER heard Aretha Franklin talk about Patti Labelle. I think she mentioned her one time in her autobiography. It's wonderful to see this. Aretha and Patti are 2 of my top five favorite singers of all time. Rest in peace Aretha ♥️🎤👸🏿

@@ajjennings7932 No she didn't. Aretha clearly snubbed Pattti Labelle. I'm not even a Patti fan. There is no mistaking when someone gives you a friendly handshake, or hug or are snubbing you. They might have been overall cool with each other, but there was some beef evident at that time. Also neither of them aren't going to talk badly about the other if asked, because it's bad for their own publicity.
Aretha requested Patti to sing at her Homegoing Celebration, but Patti was booked and already committed but,to avoid a law suit sge couldn't be there to sing. She has expressed her love for Aretha, and now to hear Aretha doing the same...LOVELY. 🌹🌹🌹

I have never heard any rumors about them not liking each other. However, I saw a video where Patti tried to congratulate Aretha for winning an award. Patti gently grabbed Aretha's arm. Aretha told Patti to "let go" and she kept walking. I don't know when the rumors started, but there was definitely something to it.

i think people read into body language and become analysts all of a sudden. Alot of people refer to the moments on oprah's show, her birthday episode matter of fact and coupled with this idea that Aretha prefers to stand alone or have reverence alone in comparison to her contemporaries (tina, gladys, diana, patti, dionne) you very rarely see her perform live with them as she came into the 80s and 90s. It is what it is. Aretha is still the greatest in my eyes. Her voice, her songs, her approach still gives me chills.
Not buying it she had a problem. If she didn’t she would’ve humbled herself and been more gracious to Patti in public. This was to remedy the negative press she received for her aloofness towards Ms. Patti.

They never had a beef. As others mentioned it was Patti and Diana Ross for god knows whatever reason.
Patti and the other girls was mad when their fourth girl Cindy Birdsong up and left them to be a Supreme when Florence Ballard got fired. As Patti would tell the story of Diana stealing their wardrobe idea it really was about Cindy leaving them and never telling them not even a phone call because Motown officials were keeping it quiet they were firing Florence and when they did Cindy who was trained by Mary Wilson was slid into Florence spot not missing a beat. Patti and the other two were now a trio who later became the awesome Labelle.
Diana never had any beef with Patti. Patti mentioned ONE TIME that the Supremes copied the Blubelle's outfits. It wasn't just toward Diana.
