Absolutely brilliant.... great review and really interesting. I think having an adventure bike review section where the real capabilities of adv bikes are tested is a good idea. Great Video . 👍
Thanks Mike for managing to convey the sheer joy of riding a motorcycle like no other. Also I agree on the Datatool battery issue. I had the same issue on my Hornet.
*Get Well Soon* Kate. Glad it didn't come during all that good weather we've had, which must have given you a good chance to stock up with several reserve video edits for emergencies like this. Mike is doing a boss job as your Deputy here..., he's got the gab as well..., but he's had a good teacher, just remains to be seen if he can sing as sweet as yourself. Been good watching this... a good video from the silent guy in the background..., the backup boy and head Assistant to the Star of the Show. Take care and look after yourself, we need a healthy girl on our screens, for all the joy and entertainmment you're giving us. Swiss (very rainy) greets, S.
Datatool trackers 100% flatten batteries in 1-2 weeks. My Honda has one and does the same, so I have experienced the same thing.. I now have it hooked up to a battery tender and haven't had a problem since.
Enjoyed the video Mike, and the review of the bike wasn’t bad either, look forward to more content from you.. Kate great to hear your getting better please take it slow and steady and make a full recovery
I recently returned from an off road jaunt in the red clay hills of southern Queensland. I was with two drz400's. The transalp held its own. On the stock tyres, it was a skaters delight, but the only bike that started upright at the end of the day was the transalp. The biggest issue for me was the front suspension as it crashed into its end stops every time the big girl came off the back of a washout, both wheels airborne. The rear held its own. With good tyres and some front suspension work, the transalp will be a strong off road contender in the adventure market.
A great part 1 by Mike. Honestly, he's a natural, he'd smash doing bike content on UA-cam. Something he should honestly think about doing more often. Even starting his own channel. Look forward to part 2!❤💪
Yay Mike ! More of this sharing screen time, it's great to have alternative views of a bike. You could do one vid a a bike review where you do yours then Kate does hers, but you don't talk about it until the edit, and then you'll find out if you had the same views or seen things differently from a male/female perspective etc
Yes a few testers have found the locating/security device flattens the battery. I can assure potential owners that mine has never had a battery issue in 19,000 kms without one, although I do ride mine most days here in sunny South Australia. And yes - they are a very enjoyable bike. Not a fan of the tassels though...
Get well soon Kate. Well done Mike for a top video. A few decades ago I used to to a little easy off road stuff on a KMX200 2 stroke before it was stolen. A lot of fun and I fell off quite a bit learning but that was part of the fun. I also found it quite amazing how warm I got off road and you are spot on with the point about popping the front wheel up to cover rocks and stuff. Many thanks for sharing.
Well done Mike. Great video. Really enjoyed your commentary. Hope kate gets better soon. Maybe when kate does vids when you're in them you could be 🎤 up too.
Really enjoyed this and would love to see Mike testing other bikes off road. Ive not done any green lane riding for years but wouldn't mind giving it another bash. Thinking of getting a CRF250/300 so would love to see you test one of these.😉
Make sure the datatool is in the correct battery mode. Sometimes they default into acid if they should be in li-on, and the reverse. I have one on my ATAS and touch wood, no issues so far.
Bo and I watched it. Brilliant video. True friendship wanting to capture Thomas falling off on camera 😂👍 Not suitable for motor vehicles sign aka Fun Sign! Would be interested in hearing your brutally honest review of different adventure bikes off road capabilities. Keep up the great work Team Username Kate ❤
Great vlog Mike. I have a Datatool S5 Stealth Tracker on my Multistrada. When I bought the bike Ducati told me make sure its hooked up to Ultimate charger when not in use and I have never had a problem (touch wood). So I am afraid you have to bite the bullet.
Awesome seeing the Transalp being given some beans on the trails, I have to admit, I very much looked down my nose at it when it came out... Mike was pretty brave with no bash plate though on a loaner! 😀
Glad to hear your on the mend Kate, wish you a continued speedy recovery🥴... who gave mike an energy drink before he recorded this... normally the man of few words turned into jibber jabber! fun vlog to watch ty 😀
Looks like you had a good ride out Mike. I've done 55-60 mph following a friend on his KLR 650 with stock Versys KLE 650 tires on gravel. No quacks to be heard .... will see in part two if you found the river crossing. Tassles to make the bike better (have black on my Suzuki 1500 Intruder from 1998). It' will be interesting what IB will ride for her Season Eight. Take care 'n Kate get well fast!
Hope Kate feels better soon. Nice change up video. Nice ride. I'm not sure why, but the T7 seems to have all sorts of character with out being overly laden with bags and panniers. I don't think I've seen a video of it without being fully loaded up. I get it, it's an ADV and what it's meant for but fully naked, it seems more of a frisky dual sport. I know the video is for the Transalp but I'm enjoying watching the Yamaha.
Well done Mike. Good episode so far. I'll admit I struggled a little bit with accents but not too bad. Turned on the closed captions to help the second time and they struggled also but did help. 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent vlog. Well done Mike. It is obvious you are passionate about bikes and riding. @usenamekate have you unleashed a new vlog in usernamemike? Get well soon Kate
Brilliant Mike 👍👍. A really enjoyable vlog. I'm not too sure about the tassels though 😂, were they Kate's idea? By the way, I was over the Trough of Bowland last Sunday on a Royal Oilfield ride out and, like you say, there are some very nice properties ☺. Anyroad, you keep entertaining us and, I hope Miss Ralph gets better soon 🤞.
Nice video Mike, obviously I'm biased towards the T7....but the Transalp seems like a fab bike. Nice scenery too 👌. By the way, did you do the editing or do you have an editor....😂😂😂💚 Cheers, Steve
Hi, would love to see adventure bike reviews. Good to hear your getting better Kate. Mike is the Transalp a real contender against the T7 or even BMW F900?
I don't think it's directly to do with DataTool. I have had Range Rovers batteries go flat for a similar reason. If the car/bike is subject to Wi-Fi, the security system thinks it's being attacked. It switches on to protect itself. Now, think this is going on 24 7 until you start the bike up. Flat battery! I'm not sure how to deal with the problem without adding an additional battery charger connector that can be easily accessed and connected to a dedicated trickle charger like CTEK that SHMEE150 uses on all his Supercars when parked
Just sold my T7, and I am 6ft. I felt after 3 years of owning it and doing many off road events , Rally moto etc , it was too tall a brilliant bike but also the build quality wasn't there.
Sorry to hear it's come back again but 🤞you'll be back up and running (sorry, RIDING, soon!) Careful that Mike doesn't put you out of a job, though, because he is rather good on cam!
Dear Kate I really do like you but as a grandfather I should not have blurted out that last comment We all want more of you on UTube but a diet with Mike to encourage each other would not be a bad thing . Two of you trying helps each other.
Great review Mike, how much editing did that need Kate. Makes all the sense in the world putting Mikes “particular skillset” to good use with the ADV off road rides. Would watch again👍🏻.
Interesting! Yes it was the press bike, it hadn't been used for 10 days when I checked the calendar. Told my friend and she confirmed hers was the same after 3 weeks. Just annoying!
Absolutely brilliant.... great review and really interesting. I think having an adventure bike review section where the real capabilities of adv bikes are tested is a good idea. Great Video . 👍
Thanks so much Bo! 😊

Hope Kate is doing well.
sick video mike bro great editing as always kate told you that your a power couple 👍
Good job for stepping in, and good video too. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Fantastic video Mike, get well soon Kate.

Awesome video! I hope you are on the mend Kate! Best!
Ok Kate, I’m down with this. Thinking this bloke does a good job of UNK review. Let’s see epi 2. 🤔
Really appreciate the nice words

I had an F reg green and blue KMX200 I loved that bike so light and fast.
Well done Mike, great video, really enjoyed it 👌
Mine goes offroad sometimes... but only sometimes! LOL Nice ride!
Great day out looking forward to the next one!
Well done Mike. Great video. Really enjoyed your commentary.
Hope kate gets better soon.
Maybe when kate does vids when you're in them you could be 🎤 up too.
100% this is a thing for the future, we got the mic recorders ready now
Love the gate etiquette Mike 🫡

Great video thank's Mike looking forward to more especially if you get back into some off road.
got a few in the pipeline
Nice to see the bike taken off the asphalt. Way outside of my comfort zone but I’d love to have a go on some green lanes.
Get well soon.
"jump!" 😂 ... Great vid 💯
Get well soon Kate but don’t rush back, Mike is pretty good too 😂

This is a loan bike from honda so can't really be fiddling with the battery and stuff as its not our and we wouldn't want to cause any damage
Ohhhhhh Noooooooo, sending speedy recovery wishes your way, rest well sweetie .❤
Thanks Chicka!!

I enjoyed that.

Great review! I’m ordering a 2025 TA. Vs a T700, despite the nice upgrade to the 2025 T700….

Hi, would love to see adventure bike reviews. Good to hear your getting better Kate. Mike is the Transalp a real contender against the T7 or even BMW F900?
I can't comment as I haven't ridden any of the others, hopefully will do in the next coming months though
Every time i put my bike in the garage i always connect my optimizer. Mind you it is a GoldStar.
It's probably my next bike. But using it on the road only

we had one on our gs1200 and couldnt leave it for more than 2 weeks, removed it and now can leave it months and it still starts
Just sold my T7, and I am 6ft. I felt after 3 years of owning it and doing many off road events , Rally moto etc , it was too tall a brilliant bike but also the build quality wasn't there.
I remember a while back Richy Vida and Mr Fish had issues with their datatool. They were both on Africa Twins. I think it was a wrong battery thing.
Equilibrium still messing you up, get well Kate, well done Mike holding the fort
Sorry to hear it's come back again but 🤞you'll be back up and running (sorry, RIDING, soon!) Careful that Mike doesn't put you out of a job, though, because he is rather good on cam!
Sounds very muffled in places, could not hear some of it.
I can't understand what this guy is saying. I catch about every fifth or sixth word.
you wouldnt think english was my first language 😂😂
Hi friend... how tall are you to get an idea of the height of the seat?
He is 5'11 with a 32 inch inside leg measurement 😊
This guy needs some one to translate this to English haha
haha
what dus thi mean, we speak reyt gud
i have not a answer for , i ride on-road and if i find nothing intressting i change to off-road motorbikes

the difference between PS and Torque?
PS = how fast you hit the gate. Torque = how far you take it with you!
