Story..... Moving to a New Home Last year, Sarah and her family decided it was time to find a new home. They had been living in a small apartment in the city for many years. It was a cozy place, but there wasn’t enough space for everyone. Sarah’s brother, Michael, wanted his own room, and Sarah wanted a bigger kitchen to try new recipes with her mom. So, they started to look for a new house. They spent weeks looking at different homes. They visited big houses, small houses, old houses, and new houses. Sarah's parents wanted a place with a nice backyard, where the kids could play and have a small garden. After many visits, they finally found a house they loved. It was a beautiful two-story house with a red door, a large backyard, and enough rooms for everyone. Once they decided to buy the house, they needed to start packing their things. This was a big job! Sarah helped her parents put things in boxes. They packed dishes, clothes, books, and toys. They labeled each box with a marker, writing “Kitchen,” “Living Room,” “Sarah’s Room,” and so on, to make unpacking easier. The family also found many old things they had forgotten about. Sarah found her favorite childhood toy, a teddy bear, and Michael found his old comic books. It was a bit sad to leave behind the memories of their old home, but everyone was excited about their new house and the memories they would make there. On moving day, a big truck arrived. Movers helped carry the heavy furniture, like beds, tables, and sofas. Sarah and her family carried the lighter boxes. They worked all day, moving things from the old apartment into the truck. By the evening, the truck was full, and it was time to say goodbye to their old home. When they arrived at the new house, they were all very tired. But the sight of their beautiful new home made them happy. They spent the first night there with just a few blankets and pillows on the floor because their beds weren’t set up yet. They ordered pizza, sat on the floor, and talked about how they wanted to decorate each room. It was a simple dinner, but it felt special because they were together in their new home. The next day, they started unpacking. Sarah set up her new room and decorated it with her favorite posters and lights. Michael chose a blue color for his room. Their parents arranged the living room with the sofa, TV, and a few plants to make it cozy. The kitchen was Sarah’s favorite part of the new house. It was big, with lots of counter space, and had a window that looked out into the backyard. Over the next few weeks, the house slowly started to feel like home. The family planted flowers and vegetables in the backyard. They also got to know their neighbors, who were very friendly. One weekend, they even invited their new neighbors over for a small housewarming party. Sarah and her mom baked cookies and made lemonade, and everyone enjoyed the sunny day together. Now, every time Sarah thinks about their old apartment, she smiles. She has many happy memories from there, but she also knows that their new house is the perfect place to make new memories.
I liked finding a recent story, with the transcription and also that I understood almost completely without subtitles. Thanks and see you in the next video 😊
