This is a constant question. I tend to side with the guys who say dominant hand on the record because all the sound comes from the movement of the record. If you train your dominant hand on the record you can get a deeper nuance of tonality of sound, where as the fader is just one simple on/off motion

Practice at bpm increments of 5 for maybe a week each.

Its gonna take more than a week bro thats for sure, just gotta keep at it and build that muscle memory. I would say probably a month.
