"You look like Jason" and the look you gave Darren after saying that ....
    Says it all

Haha glad you spotted that Towah, Darren deliberately ignored me. 🤣🤣 That goes back to Darren's teenage years and early 20's. Everyone used to pull his leg about him looking like Jason Donovan. They had the same hairstyle for quite a while and did look very similar. Darren got fed up with it and cut his hair shorter, then a few weeks later Jason Donovan had his hair cut to the exact same style...! Darren just couldn't get away from it. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
      Much love 💜🤟

      Hi Steven,
We were disappointed with how little of ancient Sparta was left, but actually liked modern day Sparti as it's now called and we love Greece in general.
      Thanks for your comment. 💜🤟

I definitely get why you would feel disappointed. The legendary city of Sparta just left to crumble when most countries have been preserving as many historical places of importance as possible is bonkers. But hey, it looks like they are trying at least to rectify some of it. Great video, as always, guys.

      Hey Gareth,
We are seeing a lot of it as we venture further in Greece. It seems like they have maybe hit harder times and had to divert money elsewhere, so they leave them to deteriorate whilst leaving them open to the public, or they just close them to the public permanently. Hopefully things will get better so that these amazing places are still around to be seen for thousands of years yet. 🤞
      Thanks for your comment 😘💜🤟

Sad to hear and see that seemingly such an important place in Greek history, has not been given its due - but, I am sure many things play into this, notwithstanding the sheer number of sites there are. Greece has gone through a lot of political turmoil in the last century and a half, and I am sure that has played a huge part as well. After many years of financial decline, Greece has only recently started to increase its economic position. Maybe a they better their financial standing in the world, and more tourists come to see the ancient sites, they will at least do some sympathetic conservation of the sites.

Fingers crossed Paulette. We thought that people had always visited the ancient Greek sites. You are correct though, there are so many of them. The ancient Greeks were very prolific builders that's for sure. We'll look forward to seeing as many as possible, while the public are allowed to visit.

It’s not nice but every one deserves to know the truth about places and it’s your opinion

      Hi Matthew,
It's a real shame, but you know we will always say it, as we find it. The modern city of Sparti as it's now called, felt safe and pleasant. It may be different in the summer months, but we liked it.
Thanks again for your comment. Much love 💜🤟

Could it be that the Greeks know full well that the Spartan myth is just that?
Well worth a watch for some explanation.

Lovely channel, but please stop using swear words - I find it most off-putting. My wife has already stopped watching the channel.

Firstly thanks for the comment. We have always included the odd swear word since we started the channel, but only when we feel it is relevant to the moment. We are not perfect and do sometimes swear and it has always been important to us that the channel represents a true reflection of who we are. Much love Darren and Alison 🤟♥️
