I enjoy your videos , If you haven’t done a video on your rain gear . I’d be interested id be interested in your thoughts. I am going to go rewatch your post trail gear review 😁 I’m headed out in April to finish the Northern half of the trail .

Thank you! I haven’t done a video on rain gear yet because honestly, there isn’t much to it! The AT is such a wet trail that you’re either wet with sweat or wet with rain (trust me- the rain smells better!). I used a Gossamer Gear umbrella with the hands-free clip attachment and an Antigravity Gear rain jacket with pit zips for warmth when the rain was cold. Otherwise, I packed all my gear in compactor bags or waterproof stuff sacks (Sea to Summit) and just embraced the rain. Anytime we found sunshine, we laid our things out to dry!

Very informative! Thank you. I likely will try to slack pack through here. Any ideas on doing that in this area. I think I’m just risking enough at my age climbing the rocks.
Also, thanks for the work for stay ideas.

We slackpacked Mousilauke and the Kinsmans by simply leaving our things at the Notch Hostel where we were staying. I don’t think I’d want to do the Pressie Traverse without a full pack, though. People die in the Whites every year due to weather, and you spend a lot of time above treeline on that traverse. Happy trails, and good luck!
