Most of them are beyond the point of saving, considering many replacement parts are near impossible to find (and there's an insane amount of trim and parts on this era of car). The windshields alone often cannot be found because a lot of them at 1" thick laminated glass with crazy compound shapes. Replacing the windshields alone would often cost more than the car is worth. A lot of them have enough rust that you'd have to replace everything, including things that can't be found, so would have to be custom fabricated. Basically, most of these cars are too far gone and missing too much to be saved in any reasonable way. A lot of them would be destined for the scrapper either way. If you're a millionaire looking to lose money, then go for it. Save 'em.
@@9rjharper Virtually all of that is wrong. Windshield's like $300-$500 if it even needs one. Cheaper for some. Guys in the rust belt would kill for clean cars, particularly 2drs, and these guys are smashing them up and they're not folding up like they're rotted out.
sad to see these cars destroyed and kinda dumb stopping for every part that falls off . i bet most of these cars could have been restored to sell for alot instead of being turned into junk
Old video, but I have watched a few from here. I like the way they run the derby. Good size pit, delays are minimal and quick. But 3000 miles each way to run a derby for me is just a tad too far.
Such a shame to see these old yank tanks wasted on a mud track hitting each other at 10mph. They should be on an English banger track hitting at 50mph in to the back of some one. That's what u call carnage..
Almost every demo derby that I watch, they only do very few red flags and that would be fires or a tire. Every damn second to minute here it's a red flag for a bummer!!!
Yes there are some really overweight people there. I agree it's a waste to see these cars squabbling around in a muddy pit, at least get them on some sort of a track and lets see a bit more action like Europe.
This is by far the dumbest demo derby I've watched. Not only are they wrecking rare and probably savable, classics, it's basically a slow bumping match. Seriously, if you dont have the space for long run ups, dont do it. Were here to watch stuff get wrecked, not watch people bumble about in a dirt pit.
This is the hardest thing to watch since the season finale of Lost.
The winner was sand bagging for a good part of the demo. that is why his car was so strong at the end.
These classic cars are built way better than any of today's pos cars and trucks smash them instead!!!!!!!
But, why the classic cars?😰

People are saying that they are restorable but you try finding the glass for a 59’ Edsel
OMG! i cant believe im seeing this!
From far away they look good but when you get close the spray paint is just covering up the rust
I like this it's like a mad max car show

They need to do this to a bunch of Camrys!
Anyone remember the intro to the 1969 movie the love bug.
me;)
Awesome video
I clicked on this thinking it was a classic video. Shame to waste those cars now. Some were in restorable condition
For everyone that goes down & disappears...price goes up on the surviving ones
I would love to know what happened to the two 56 Lincoln's in this derby, I am interested in buying them
Didn't know they had color back then 😅
Let em run . Quit stopping to pick up a damn bumper
I thought it was a demo in Cuba, where are these type of cars sitting around to do this? Where I live in the rust belt, there gone, shamed I watched.
I didn't watch it all at first but that's the way the ending of a derby should be nice job drivers
Would be awesome if they would quit stopping it
Why wreck a 55 Packard so insane great performance finishing in 5th, a great testament to one of the greatest motor companies ever.

🤔reminiscent of an old folks home
GOOD ARGUMENT FOR ABORTION

They shouldn't be destroyed at all....
i HATE SEEING THIS. STOP SMASHING THEM AND START RESTORING THEM. SAVE THEM. THIS IS SO WRONG
They are to expensive to restore
AWESOME!!
Sad to see but guessing all the cars would cost way to much to restore. Also wish they DQ'ed that sand bagging car he did not earn that win.
Big black cheat. Pre 60's big black and mean green didnt belong in that heat
I was there to see the derby it was a good one
The emblems alone are worth money you all can piss off.
What the F#@k why use old collectible cars it make me sick and po to see this
The black car is a cheater, it didn't fold up at all.
That black is a Merc breezway parklane they are very tuff

Kurtis McKemmie complain now but you try taking a bumper to the side of your helmet wh n someone else spins it up
@@maserlowery2022exactly, every derby i watched and was in stopped for bumpers
Oh, the horror! What a waste!
What a waist!

I want to find a 1958 or '59 Continental for this!!!!!!!!
