    Some feedback for y'all at MBY, I've always enjoyed watching your videos but wow, this was absolutely incredible to watch and listen to, for me it was like watching the start and first lap of a Moto GP race, I was glued to the screen.
    Well done and please continue making more vids with this format, absolutely superb to watch, oh and gorgeous boat too. I'm going to watch it again now.👍😁🇬🇧

    The styling of this boat is great, the master cabin us amazing. I did think that when you were talking about it being a GT that the range maybe more impressive than 200 maybe 400 to 500 miles, but love the access to the engines. Overall a cracking boat.

      Drop the speed. Volvo IPS engines have an exponential fuel-burn curve, unlike fairly linear systems such as CATs.

      @@darthkek1953 I am always curious to know what the displacement speed range is on these boats. Range at 24 knots is great but its really how cheaply you can get about that interests me. The more I know about that the closer the dream becomes.

      @@paulpaterson5946 don't forget all engines are designed to run at a certain range. For example how many hours % at top speed, but at the other end with diesel you can get problems if you run too low for too long. So if it's range and economy you want you might be better off with a boat designed to operate around displacement speeds.

    One of the best Fairlines I've ever seen. What I miss are the side doors. These would increase the comfort considerably. I only say docking maneuvers and solo rides. Would be nice if this were at least available as an option. Then it would be exactly my boat.

    • @paulpaterson5946
      @paulpaterson5946 3 роки тому +2

      Agreed. I dont think side openings by helms are common enough. I single hand a lot and would love to have that option when docking.

    Very nice. I like to see two full cabins in a 45 footer, instead of seeing how many beds they can fit. I don't care for the garage on a boat this size, but otherwise, the walnut is great and it's a beautiful boat. Great job on the video.

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 3 роки тому +2

      A mini-jet isn't needed as a tender but as a toy for wakeboarding and skiing it make sense; or dive tanks & scooters, etc.; it is pretty great the garage gets out of the way for engine access though.

    Even though I live in San Diego and would only cruise this from San Diego to Catalina Island as well up and down our coast I would take the closed version. The open is nice and all but to open for me 🤣

    Quite a nice boat for around $1M USD. Depending on the range capability at lower speeds (10-15 mph) it _might_ be good for a Loop boat. Other than a concern about range, the main things I dislike about this Fairline are the thick window pillars/mullions and the use of leather for the upper salon seating surfaces. The limited space for an MFD is another minor hit against the boat.

    I've never noticed a review using the helm so much for small adjustments. Is there any reason why half a turn couldn't be full port or starboard?

    • @jackhaines123
      @jackhaines123 3 роки тому +2

      In fairness, we were traveling quite slowly for the pieces to camera. At speed you need to dial in much less lock.

      @@jackhaines123 I only wondered as I’ve never noticed it before, but I can see how steering on a boat would be quite ineffective at that speed. Does any builder have an active steering system, such as on some cars, which automatically increases the amount of steering lock applied at lower speeds?

    • @jackhaines123
      @jackhaines123 3 роки тому +1

      @@benmoorhouse1988 yes, Ferretti has a similar system on its boats.

    Newbie question but is it possible to have an interior color other than white? Not the upholstery but the interior structure. Some boats look a little like a sanitarium if they don’t get fitted out with a lot of wood. Same with the hull. I’m sure it would be an huge cost upgrade but is it possible?

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 3 роки тому +1

      You'd need to check the website for sure, but yes typically there is a choice of woods and trims.

    A model intended for passage making but with a cruising speed range of 200 NM? That's not even one 24-hr period at sea. In reality, many of these luxury brands seem intended exclusively for marina hopping. But yes, gorgeous inside and well capable of spoiling the crew.

    So the helm seat should be on the right so you can look out and use the window. No bolster!Sorry, for these prices fridges should be adequate size, not college size. Buyers should be able to get what they desire!
