Just picked one up for $7 at a pallet return store. Best $7 i ever spent. thing works great. Holds a charge for a long time. It is a great indoor crawler.
The Hot Up parts from the earlier version fit this. I've just fitted the drive shafts. But had to modify the ride height to reduce the driveshaft angle and stop the hesitation.
Hi Phil! Well, seems like a little change to the design has made a massive change to the performance! Impressive drive up that cardboard ramp, I was amazed at the grip it got on that smooth surface, and no tipping over backwards. Nice one mate! :))
I think my views of this must count for most of them on this video because I keep coming back to watch it! I'm very tempted to get one of these. I've just got the Hobby Plus CR-24 G-Armor in yellow which I love. Especially the pre installed led's in the actual body. But I must admit as well as the transfer gearbox and the front mounted motor, it's the gorgeous Red colour of the body on this one that really floats my boat. This could be my first RC purchase of 2020.
haha...keep watching... The CR-24 is a decent little crawler. I've tested it against this already, and to be honest, there is not much in it. I have a stronger servo in mine as the stock one is a bit pants. The only advantage I could see was better traction on the front wheels of the RGT, but nothing a little weight added to the front of the CR-24 won't fix ;)
I wouldn't say the best, by no means. I had a recent run in with this little rig. Fun to mess around with, and for 100ish bucks. I would say it's hard to beat. I do like the fact this is a forward mounted motor setup with divorced transfer case. Not that different than a true to life 4x4. I would say it has some weak areas when modding it. If you tie it to the ground, bigger tire, wheel weights, solder in the wheels and run a 2s battery. Good luck finding a drive shaft that will stay in it. With a 1s battery with added weight, I havent seen it actually break anything. So more power more breakages. I have the enduro 24, essentially the same as this. I absolutely love it, and not trashing on the adventurer or the enduro, but there are some obvious upgrades that are needed for these setups that would make them worth more in my eyes. Again, for a hobby grade running around the 100 dollar range. Truly is hard to beat.
@@TomleyRC And that is where I didn't pay attention. Even though the SCX24 is out now, and I do believe is better. I have a mod planned for my scx24 if it works I would.have a more forward mounted motor to. 😉
Been watching your channel since before mine started to pick up. I just don't comment a ton 😅
Oh..I'll look at the SCX24 bits, i may even get one and do a comparison. I watch loads of videos, but hardly comment as well, so i'm all good with that haha
@@TomleyRC oh for sure I'm sure you would get tons of views with a hybrid of this new rig and a scx24!
I'm always broke so kinda hard to get new rigs all the time or I'd get 1 of these to try myself!
I just bought a trx4. not gonna get away with buying a second micro (I have the "devastator"). tho the Orlandoo basher is really tempting too
Nice Review Sir,
I think I would prefer the AWS Ibex mini myself as i don't think it would take much to make a fairly convincing looking Monster Jam machine since it has mostly metal part's...just need to figure out how to give it more pepp...if you catch my drift ;p
I have one on the way to give a go against this
I'm kinda new to this. is the RGT 2 the same as the Outback 3?
Yes 👍
@@TomleyRC Thanks. I've had HPI and Tamiya RC cars in the past, I like the slow and steady concept of these crawlers and this looks like a good starting point. Can this model be modded and upgraded?
These little ones are not as easy to mod/upgrade... but you certainly can
@@TomleyRC Thanks. My local model shop that I thought had disappeared, has them in stock. Might have to take the plunge. Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions.
I bought the WL toys 1/24 crawler and I love it. You should try that one out!
Pretty impressive little truck.
Yeah its nice
Good review! Were the lights on the new one supposed to only come on while steering and giving throttle?
Cheers Charlie, yeah, looks like they have changed how the lights work. Not sure there is a way to make them stay on.
Tomley RC Garage It could be the new esc?
Would you say that a 5 yo could manage this crawler?
Great review cool little rc
Cheers dude
Is the rgt v2.0 the same as ftx v3.0? Awesome looking crawler, definitely going to get me one of these.
Jim 1969 Yes mate, same thing 👍🏻
Definitely on my shopping list
There are 2 mini rc crawler in my mind, this RGT and the HBX devastator. Still in doubt though. Please help me.
RGT is a better ‘scale’ rig, HBX is a little more capable, but even better with decent tyres
Great and very comprehensive review. I ordered mine based upon your info here. I like very much you take time to answer all questions from your viewers. Any aftermarket scale body for this? Greetings from Colombia.
Thanks David. It's a decent truck. I actually bought a cheap 1/24 Range Rover Sport Toy RC and modified the body to fit my other RGT...so I should think there will be other bodies about. And also the CR24 has a few different body styles that should fit
Funtastic video my friend ive been looking for desktop crawler This is definitely on my list great price as well😎🇬🇧👊😊👍
Yes, it's good fun! And capable!
Neat little thing. A bit noisy though. But looks good
quite an improvement really!
Yes, much better. Need to build a better course really to test it.
Hi,
I always watch your videos
Is this red model Waterproof?
Thank you very much
Thanks dude. Yes, it's waterproof
Is it waterproof? Or not
Yes, although nothing is completely waterproof.
Nice planetary 👍🏼
Looking forward to!! Sweet! NC❤ MOUNTAINS🏞 Backyard RC and MORE 🖒💯
You’re paper slope test was a a little mean , too slippery, but I enjoyed 👍🏻
It is a little slippery, but it made it up with the same tyres that the V1 has ;)
I've seen it on banggod, and it look awesome, will maybe buy one later.
Amazon is better
Time to make it brushless now!!! Lol
You should check out panda hobby tetra x1 1/18.
Any ideas to how to make it brushless
__{.-.}__ Hi yes!
__{.-.}__ Hi and you also might need to drill the holes on the pinion to make it fit on the motor and probably needs to make the motor mounts little bigger.
Saitama 1 have you done it
The gearing is the biggest change compared to the first rgt, well done! Thx for info bud!
Thanks for watching :)
I don’t understand what’s so hard about giving these little trucks more torque. I have an scx 24 Jeep it’s got more torque than the truck in this video but still it stalls. Why can’t the factory learn and understand we want torque so it wont stall. I can hear how it’s straining to get over obstacles the scx24 does that too but not as much.
I guess it's restricted due to motor size. I see people gear them down to get a bit better performance
I have one of these. Super fun!!
Love your vids! Do you know if they made these same changes to the 1/10 scale versions?
Yes, the new 1/10 RGT’s have the motor up front. Hopefully have one on the way
Hey i thought u said a couple weeks ago u were going to b doing a giveaway
I've given away 3 RC Cars/Trucks in the last month or so.... how many more do you want lol
@@TomleyRC i didnt know my apologize lol my wife is in the hospital again so its been crazy getting on here
What's that noise
I think it's just the power going to the motor + a bit of noise from the transfer case.
This is identical to the team associated element cenduro but cheaper.
That’s what the Element is based on
I have to wait a month and a half cuz I’m in the states
I just want the body to mount to my SCX24.
70 nicker, hmmm, and then the "upgrades"....too exotic for me
nah...no need for upgrades :)
Mini trx4!
Yes...although avoided that in the title. Don't want Traxxas coming for me again 😂
@@TomleyRC Haha, poor rcsailors
There’s a 1/10 scale of that rc
Link?
I don't know what country you are in so I won't put a link but the name is the FTX Outback 2 or go on banggood and type in rgt
an obligatory like for the break.
lol trying to take the piss out of kevin talbot with the toy lambo but you're forgetting he has a real lambo and a real defender so he has the last laugh
I seen a few of his vids and while its true he owns a real Lamborghini,he's still annoying af like most people who own Lamborghini's and other high end performance cars like that. But that's just my opinion, lol
And then theres you presuming I have no money haha. We’ll done, he has a £200k car..... but what else does he have? 😉👌
Love the vid was fun
Thank you
