I bought one of these today at Lamy San Francisco. Hadn’t seen it before. Your video review helped me make a decision. This is an excellent pen with a wonderful nib. It’s going to go under the radar of many which for me is great.
what makes lamy fountain pen good? i have the waterman expert, and i love it. i know the waterman is at a higher price point, but im here to discuss about the functionality of pen and not the build quality. are lamy pens comparable function-wised?
+Teletubby Gonewild I have a 2000,a Safari and an Al-Star and it's all about being utilitarian, and a workhorse. You can expect any Lamy pen to step up when anything needs to be done.
The precision and the quality of Lamy engineering is unmatched in my opinion. I like to compare them to cars. Italian cars have the best designs but are not the most reliable. German cars have more conservative designs but you know you can rely on them.

Have 2 of these now and both are wonderful, easily among the best pens I've used.
The barrel looks just like the Persona. That cap had a unique spring loaded retractable clip. The pen rolled easily.
