    This geezer has done a great job with this, as 82BHP at the wheels is indeed a good figure. I got 78BHP at the wheels from my normally aspirated 1310 cc A series. But I cut my own head from some drawings created on a flow bench by Manx racing, (out of a Vizard book) done on an 11 stud 12G295 Cooper S head, while using Rimflow anti reversion valves, MD 276 Megadyne cam, 9.75:1 CR, hand modified twin SU HS 2 carbs, as per the Vizard drawings in the book. Also had a nice LCB connected to an RC40 exhaust. This looks like a Rayjay turbo fitted here, which is exactly the one I wanted that mounts above the clutch housing.... fantastic. P.S. this engine should really have a center main strap on the crank with all that torque going through it. I put one on mine to prevent crank whip & subsequent possible damage/failure.

    Hi! I have a LHD 1991 rover cooper. Do I have to remove the brake booster to install the turbo?

      yes and we do sell the delete kit and does not reduce braking performance www.jetmotorsmini.com/product-page/brake-booster-delete-kit

    QQ, why such a small turbo? In terms of your statement about added power and reliability. I ran 10psi on my stock (head modded) engine all day and night while commuting. So you can certainly get more and keep reliability esp for the price you charge.

    This is great. Looking to order a kit for sure. I have a 998 with a Webber carb. Are you able to package up the required carb with the kit?

    Still loving it Jeremy! No issues whatsoever. Going up a hill with four people in the car and stepping on the throttle, it just goes with no hesitation or hint of pinging. Going 60 on the freeway, stepping on the gas, and having it GET UP AND GO will never get old! You've got a good product and you'll sell them all!

      Ha! No idea. I'll have to do that one of these days. I'll tell you what though, I OWN 3rd gear at 3000 rpm! I step on it then and it just gets up and GOES! The turbo is great in every gear at every rpm, very flat torque curve, but 3rd @ 3000 is money!

    So... I will be working on a Mini that already has some of your parts, I hopefully can sell the owner on a turbo rather then a honda swap. What are your thoughts on other driveline wear (transmission, axles ect.)? I know it depends on how you drive it too. #ChallengeTheBuild

    So I'm curious, I have a RHD, If you take away the brake booster, aren't you loosing brake power or make it harder to brake/slow down? You're adding more "gitty up and go" but taking away ease of braking ??

    • @briangrant2426
      @briangrant2426 Рік тому +2

      Most of the millions of minis produced never had brake boosters. Unless you're in a very weakend state for some reason, like handicapped or something, you don't need one. I have no problem brakeing whatsoever.

      @@briangrant2426 Gotcha, maybe I used the wrong term. My classic has a Brake Servo behind the Brake master cylinder.

      @@TheRouger7 You used the right term. Mini's are very light and really don't need servos/boosters. I've had one with and one without. Really couldn't tell the difference.

      Seriously they are such mega fun, they really do handle like a go kart, with incredible precision. I've had three in the past, an early 850, a 1275GT, then I did a highly modified 1310. Just about everyone use to turn around when I accelerated in the 1310, due to the superb awesome induction sound :) .

    Nice kit, try to put a mapable 123 ignition on it the will do boost retard and operate up to 1 bar are constant energy, they run a 12v coil down to one ohm primary resistance, have a soft cut rev limter, usb can a dual map suitable, the Bluetooth you can map from apple or android devices and the blue tooth you can activate a anti theft option were if your phone is not present the engine will not start, I been selling them for years in all there different fittments for years and bar none there the best distributor based ignition system you can buy. Ps try single weight 30 oil it will give you a stronger accelerator pump action, Mt concern about hydraulic fluid, although is corrosion because of it hygroscopic nature, if ded set od hydraulic fluid and it works for you use silicon brake fluid or the Rolls Royce castor oil based fluid.
