That's life. One day you are high as a kite, the next you are stuck in the mud. Reality comes to burning man.
Love that expression❤
😆😆
God is watching like sodom and Gomorrah 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good one
Stranded ankle deep in mud with 30, 0000 people is the last place on earth I would want to be
Not just people, Burning Man attendees.
Paul, you forgot about the overflowing porta-potties, a real pretty sight.
Must have smelled wonderful, and added to the whole experience !
How many?
70k people dude. Get it right
They can pretend it's Woodstock and play in the mud
One attendee on another channel said burning man is about survival (I would be concerned about what that looks like for some people), and prior to the festival they knew the rains were coming. Sounds like some attendees got a more authentic experience than they bargained for.
😂
Survival? Survive what? 5 days of drug ingestion?
@@GingaManMore like mud and sand...
if nothing else, this will end up being an interesting case study on surviving both a crisis and mass drug withdrawl at the same time.
Ginaman I'm not sure. I've never been there, and I don't plan to attend. I'm just going on what I've heard based on one attendee's interview. I'm sure drugs are part of it. As I understand it, burning man is a festival against 'the man' whatever that is defined as. I would guess government its rules and assistance factor into the equation somewhere.
Debut of Raining Man.
Muddy Man
Love the jokes keep them up 😁
@@Hollywoodbearluv yeah they do but when the sea is out you can have a mud complex for free
I would get the hell out of there on foot and walk the 8 miles. Situations like this bring out the worst in humanity.
Oh but it's supposed to be a "community" outside of normal social structures. People just "take care of each other". In other words this will be a fascinating look at how communism works.
@@cwx8 So it would be better with capitalists? Of course some republican has to get political.
@@cwx8 True. Community spirit fades quickly when hunger sets in.
8 miles in that muck would be more difficult than you could imagine.

I can’t imagine what’s happening in the minds of people who are coming down from all the drugs taken over the weekend.
Sadness and depression.
Sounds like a personal issue for degens
A lot of them look like they could not put 2 and 2 together.
I usually check the weather if im planning a weekend trip.
Lol tickets sell WAY in advance. Further in advance than any weather report. You’re not going to bail on a trip you’ve spent thousands of dollars planning for because rain is forecast at the last second.
That's smart
I was just going to mention that at the British Music Festivals they wear Muck Boots
Same thought process of many dead mountaineers. There are worst things to lose than money spent on a vacation - it was not money spent for survival, don't turn it into a survival situation.
Imagine picking up a hitchhiker and it's Chris Rock
Hahaha
I'd smack him, then laugh.
They'll be fine. Who needs food, water and gasoline when you have sheets of acid within arms reach?
I liked that reporter. He spoke clearly and covered the issue with details and astute observation...something you don't see anymore. A candid report...go figure.
Notice how he's freelance. Theres a direct correlation between quality of reporting and the size of the media organization. The bigger the organization the lesser quality of reporting.

He is a Canadian who has been on the job for decades. He used to work for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He is very good at what he does. Great that you noticed. I have been watching his reports for years and years.
He’s Canadian. A veteran reporter from CBC.
"It is an 8 mile walk to leave the campsite"
Whiny hipsters: OMG WERE STRANDED!!!😭😭😭😭
If Chris Rock can walk…they can get they @ up and walk
I’m 62…4 miles in an hour is what I get out of these old bones. Don’t know if I could do it esp if I was low on carbs.
So this won't be a leave no trace event. The smell alone.....
Oh the irony . . . the sweet sweet irony . . .
This is why you bring more than enough food and water for an excursion away from civilization

Dude, it's only been a couple extra days.... it's the desert, how do you not bring extra food and way more water than you need?
Wow, fantastic report by Steve! Thank you!
With all the cellphones you’d think THE WEATHER REPORT might help 🙄
At 0:28 I really feel for that guy. It looks like he really wants to leave, but knows he is stuck still and hes thinking about what to do.
Really? If I told you not to swim in the pool because it was full of chemicals, and you don't listen and jump in.... These people are the worst they don't listen and do whatever they want.
Going to be a big cleanup this year with people just walking away from all their stuff and getting out.
The way you described it, sounds like every year.
There were people protesting the environmental impact but the cops ran them over instead of arresting them.
Damn Steve. Solid reporting, you told me alot more info than alot of these articles. Good on you, and best wishes to everyone at burningman
Say 8 miles, not kilometers. Jeez where am i
The worst of people come out when they just came to hang out.
They went thier to getaway from everything and everyone to be with like minded people...Be careful what you wish for 😂😂😂
at least it was Rain. not extreme heat.
Lol no one checked the weather channel before going? Hahaha 😅😂

Thousands still Partying and having a Blast at Burning Man!
That guy is optimistic.
Once the surface dries out, the mud stays moist under the crust.🤓
And it will be bumpy as fk
The daytime highs are 79-80 F for next 6 days.
That is very misleading because 22 of the next 24 hours, temps are UNDER 75 and for 17 of the next 24 hours they are UNDER 70. A few hours of partly sunny weather is not going dry out anything, not even wet socks. No joke.
Need to be highs of 88-92 F to dry the soaked clay.

Great reply!!
Would like to see more about the people who got out and just left all of their junk there for others to clean up.
Oh, I'm sure it's an ecological mess, however, don't expect the truth to come out, or the MSM to report on it.......
It's a filth pit once they leave I'm sure
They’re not leaving their trash, they’re just sharing it with others! 😂
It’s such fun, until it’s not😨😱
There are more important things going on in the world than this.
I would be freaked out if I get stuck in a situation like this
Its not normal mud its like lit like cement you cant just drive thru it even with a truck or jeep thats form mudding
They have videos of people in RVS driving out of there either Saturday or Sunday. Some people got stuck but the media is making out to be a catastrophe. Today may be a different story and not just because of the conditions. The festival ended today so there will be a mass exodus and long waits to get out.
This brings “chaos” to a whole new level.
These are the people that will be apocalypse fodder.
Apocalypse fodder are those people who think they can solo an apocalypse with enough ammo. 😂
But, they haven't burned yet!!!! The burn is tonight! The whole reason to attend is to burn!!! What the hell?
I have an idea........
Go home and light a fire in your firepit in the backyard.
Sit in a lawn chair and relax mud-free without overflowing porta-potties, and crazed people on drugs.
Some people really are a stick in the mud
So much for leaving the place as they found it..
Exactly !!! What a mess of garbage & camping gear packed under the muck !!
Chris Rock can't afford a helicopter to come pick him up?
That'd be risky... need a great place to land where it's safe and not surrounded by people.
Always better to run away from hell than towards it.
At lease it’s not dusty. What do people think. You are on a DRY lake. Add water you have this.
thanks for the consolation, having to be stranded for almost a week with no food and water is lovely
All I have to say, is that is a really good friend....
How could it be so disorganized when there were thousands of people expected to attend the occassion? Was there any weather alert ?
The playa mud is going to eat all those vehicles up this next few months. It is going to be a trash nightmare.
Situations like this bring out the best in people 🎉
Well at least on Friday they could take rain showers so now they don't smell as bad.
Get the government just kept people in the 15 minute cities, None of this would happen.
Burning Man, in the beginning was much smaller and more manageable. Once again, corporate greed has ruined what was once a very cool event.
How is corporate America involved in burning man? Nothing is bought or sold there. People bring all their own supplies and trade for anything extra. Please fill me in.
Oh that damn corporate greed again! :) Actually, businesses/corporations would fail if they didn't provide a good/service that people wanted (e.g. cars, food, cell phones, appliances, heat, electricity, etc). So in reality you're really just blaming humans for wanting an easy life. Unless you live off the grid (which you don't because you posted her) - you are an absolute hypocrite.
@@edbreyerproviding goods and services that people want and need is simply business, and something people have engaged in for forever. Corporate greed is what we're seeing today, with planned obsolescence and no right to repair keeping us replacing expensive goods, and keeping the prices high. Or investigations into grocery chains and food manufacturers that prove they are price gouging their clientele. Or the value derived from profits going to shareholders, and not to employee wages. The list goes on. But hey, just make sure you floss the grit out of your teeth when you're done licking their boots.
@@mackef LOL! You are hilarious! Corporate greed is no different than human greed. Back when individual merchants sold their goods in rural trading posts there were always those who tried to take advantage of a given situation due to imbalances in supply and demand. The beauty of free competition (which I'm betting you also think is evil) is that those imbalances don't last because others realize there is an opportunity to be successful in the particular market by undercutting the price gougher or providing a better product. I have NEVER been forced to pay a vendor more than I'm willing due to competition among grocery stores, car makers, repair shops, cell phone services, etc. Only when there are safety issues, monopoly conditions (defined a lack of easy/exit of sellers/producers into a market) or evidence of price collusion does government oversight become vital. Otherwise, consumer choice will reward good products/companies and drive bad ones out of business. It's clear that without the so-called "evil corporations" you wouldn't have any of the products/services you depend on each day - including the phone/PC and internet service you used to post your uninformed opinions.
HAHAHAHA! Thank you Mother Nature!
Mother doesn't do that to anyone it's Uncle Nature that did it
All I see is disentary and CV-19

What??? Only on Meta!!! Lol
I try to walk about 8 miles 3 times a week. Why can’t they just walk out? Sure it’s muddy but it’s a few hour hike at most…
If it rains again this could devolve into a genuinely dangerous situation
the fact that someone (obviously planners not goers) should have thought of what could happen with rain, this isnt some shocking natural disaster. its predictable weather that should have been accounted for in the planning phase.
Air drop food and water. Until the ground is dry.
@@teddymills1Imagine the RUST shenanigans if they did that.

These events are not worth anything when you really think about it
Tow truck drivers sure hit the lottery, probably should have just chilled for a day or two, what’s a couple more days in the beautiful desert surrounding 😎😎😎
That playa mud is like quicksand when it gets wet. Lucky people can even walk in it much less trying to drive. The tow companies are going to have a field day.
This is why you bring 10 extra cases of beer, booze and 20 cartons of cigarettes. When the beer , booze and smokes run out. You can sell a beer for $100, cigarette $10.
And so here is the ultimate test ... can 70 thousand people who have come together to gather as a completely self made community show us what true community is through sharing and support. I have heard from many who are out on the playa right now and they are saying that it's not anywhere near as bad as the media is reporting it to be and that everyone is helping each other out.
The person that died was very likely due to drugs... it's a music festival and this, sadly, happens all too often.
I read somewhere that the person was electrocuted. Also, it's not a music festival.
@@shovelgirl2680 music, art and community festival... sorry to hear about that person.
Soo government can't deliver water and supplies?
Burning Man management is responsible. It’s a private event. People reject government “interference”….this is what can happen.

Where’s all the guys with the $60,000 side by sides now? Lol
$667 a ticket multiplied by 73k is nearly $50 million dollars
Hows the sharing going now???
Now see the need to check the weather.
So overblown.
If the government and the "officials" tell you to shelter in place... that's when you get the f'k out... by foot.
It rained 1/2" on some campers in another country and this is what you are reporting on?
Woodstock Music and Art Fair, commonly referred to as Woodstock, was a music festival held during August 15-18, 1969, on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York, United States, 40 miles (65 km) southwest of the town of Woodstock. Billed as "an Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music" and alternatively referred to as the Woodstock Rock Festival, it attracted more than 400,000 attendees.Thirty-two acts performed outdoors despite sporadic rain. It was one of the largest music festivals in history.
The festival has become widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history as well as a defining event for the counterculture generation. The event's significance was reinforced by a 1970 documentary film, an accompanying soundtrack album, and a song written by Joni Mitchell that became a major hit for both Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Matthews Southern Comfort. Musical events bearing the Woodstock name were planned for anniversaries, which included the tenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth, thirtieth, fortieth, and fiftieth. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine listed it as number 19 of the 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.In 2017, the festival site became listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Your in nature now. The real stuff. You don’t really want The Man to rescue you. Do you ???

I would refrain. It’s basically a satanic festival, which I didn’t realize before. They burn a giant idol afterwards and many believe this storm was punishment for it
Meanwhile ....
Mother of the Year @ 1:35. The little girl looks to be 8 or nine years old and going to Burning Man where there's drug/alcohol consumption and clothing optional.
There is absolutely nothing that interests me about such a festival or gathering.
🙉🙈🙊
Best report that included the plans and solutions for the quagmire.
Are they going to burn the woodpile
thank you so much it's useful. 🙏👍
Most folks are still there, for the big finale
Mother nature put a damper on this meaningless festival 😆. Maybe next year hold the festival closer to a town where there are paved roads and a grocery store. They got off lucky it actually could have been a lot worse, I'm guessing attendance will go down significantly next year.
The disturb no one out there.
Burning the effigy doesn't risk starting a wildfire.
Leave them alone!
Woodstock. 2.0. Lol
CBC too bad you’re not there in full force. All your technicians, cameramen, anchors, commentators and executives.
I’m serious… you should all be there.
Why it's names burning man festival?? Happens annually?
The "Fields" are a DRY LAKE BED.
Get the tribal police to drive a truck through it!
There, that seems like good logic. Hike to the highway, share on bus fares.
How often does it rain there? It's first time I hear about rain on days when burning man is celebrated. I didn't follow up with the event last year, but all previous years I never heard about rain when event is happening. Might be coincidence, but it sounds suspicious. Especially when some area of the country have rainy days when they never had that before ( I mean they never had so many rainy days in previous years) and suddenly less rain in those parts of the country and rain at the burning man event.
OMG I was saying the same thing
