The best part of this is when he tells us that Hesitation is why many people get hurt.
Hesitation due to Normalcy Bias is the real enemy. Failure to recognize that something extraordinary is occurring to you because it's not normal. It's a real problem for ones survival.
    Hesitation is your enemy.
    Explanations can come later.
Sometimes a simple smile can save your life too. Either as a de-escalate tool or a Trojan horse tool.

One reason I stopped fighting or wanting to fight in the streets was that I was getting too violent and I understood that the other guy did not value my life at all. It was simply not worth it, I did/do not want to have taking a life or seriously hurting someone on my conscience (not to mention the legal issues) nor do I want some degenerate that does not care about me doing the same to me. Unless it is absolutely necessary I avoid any contact with another, but if I must I will not hesitate to defend my life and that of those I care for at any cost.

(Deleted the unnecessary extras.) I worked in bars many years, and ignorantly looked at it as just "extra practice." I agree with many things, as far as the street, but a 250 pnd man will drop as quick as a 190 pounder.. In fact... I'd rather fight the bigger guy... Many folks fear, and equate size, and muscularity, with fight strength. but most, "not all" Gym rats can't use those muscles properly due to...it's a different usage of strength and power. "Glass jaws, and a willingness to take it as far as necessary to get home alive, comes in all sizes." Also...
"Don't underestimate the other guys want to live, or care not too." -D. Thanks for the vid guys.

I agree with you. My dad was a cop for 25yrs. He said he would rather fight a huge muscular guy rather than a small guy. He said big guys were clumsy and they didn’t know how to fight because they never had to. Their size got them out of it most of the time. Rather, the little guys were always picked on and had more fight experience. His experience anyways.

Agree with most of them,a home-made man or women should see the big bicture, not exchanging blows, exchanging words. Hoever, that grip against knives is beyond a layman´s capacity, Instead som natural tool peace of clothse, walking sticks could be better to free ourselves and run, of course. Best regards. Fights rarely happen on the street. They happen in bars or public transportation. When you pass a guy on the sidewalk at night - daytime is a different dynamic, and the part of the city is also a factor (some places you just shouldn't be there) - there's a way you look at him that will deter any violence. I will try to describe it, but if you grew up rough, it is something you just know. You make eye contact with him and hold the right amount of time. If you look away too quick, it shows fear. NEVER show fear. If you hold it too long, it becomes disrespectful and challenging. It is best if you really feel what you are saying with that look: "I'm not looking for trouble, but I am not afraid of you, and I don't expect you to be afraid of me either." If you are small and he is big, he will think that there must be some reason why you aren't afraid of him. The street is a place where someone can kill you and not get caught. You won't live very long getting in fights on deserted streets no matter how big you are. If you know how to conduct yourself, no one will mess with you. If you don't have a lock knife, get one and learn how to open it with one hand. Most importantly there is nothing shameful about running. This is about your survival, not your manhood.

This instructor obviously knows many aikido, judo, etc., moves. However, I have witnessed three street knife attacks, and NOBODY was grabbing anybody. The perpetrators were crack-heads desparate for some money. It was all wild slashing, no discipline, and scary as hell. This instruction would have been useless, and is best reserved for "bar fights" from the 1980s, with tight spaces, folks looking to scare you, and no real intent to harm.
Be alert, yell loudly, run like hell, and stay the f out of stupid dangerous places. (Why was I there? Twice I was watching from a vehicle stuck at a light, the other was looking out of a college dorm window. Still scary.)
