Hey clara! ❤ I swear your vlogs are so fun to watch and they always lighten my day. Ive been riding for over 15 years and i havent seen too many people who are as talented as you, eeslecially considering how long youve been riding! I love how you truly care about the horses and want to do whats best for them! Keep slayingg
I have a question actually- For cleaning the back hoof, do you pick it up the same way? like do you ask for it the same way? I had a lesson today and my teacher asked me to clean her hooves but suddenly I was confused about the back feet😭
It is really so hard when they just trot faster and faster when you want them to canter, you feel like you’re about to hurtle through space (at least for me) 😂 you did well handling so much horse!! Bigger horses are just so much more powerful and tiring to ride 😂
wow! Wish I could ride as good as you! I haven't even cantered yet and I've been having lessons for almost 4/5 years...That's😂 slightly discouraging Hope you had fun!!!❤
Do you ride consistently ? If you take some time off here and there that could hinder your progress, but maybe a different barn could be worth a try! I’m sure you’re doing great and will canter soon enough 🥰
I ride every Saturday I ride with just one teacher, and not at a barn. She's AMAZING! But she takes things slow, you know? She teaches in parelli, which is quite different from normal English riding. It's more about your connection with the horse. How to make them stop by just your breathing. and so on. Some people can even make them fall asleep in a matter of minutes!! it's really cool! It's hard to explain, but she says soon I'll be able to. It's just I can't post whenever I'm trotting in a circle. I can post great when I'm just out on the trail tho lol So yeah, that's basically it! I'm planning on moving to Thailand next year or the year after, so I'm gonna have to go somewhere else, with COMPLETELY different styles of English riding, which will be weird ngl But I'm excited to just do what you've been doing. Like just knowing how to RIDE a horse, instead of what I'm learning now. And don't get me wrong, I so SO happy that my parents found my teacher!❤ Anyway, you should look up parelli, its really cool!!@@RidewithClara
@@SunooAndHisHourGlass My first instructor was very similar. She was very into things like parelli/liberty and focusing on the therapeutic side of horses. She was a lovely kind woman and I was really upset when she stopped doing riding lessons (she changed to groundwork only sessions in 2020) but since riding at more traditional places I've become so much more confident and capable at riding! ❤
Thats awesome! Yeah, I'm kinda excited to move or just go to a barn. not to mention that a 90-minute lesson is 200. Yeah, I know. it's crazy I don't even get it 😭@@sl31064
Oh man those horses have the life! Filo appears to be hilarious in personality. He is straight forward in what he is feeling and thinking in each moment from what i picked up from it. In this particular case he seemed like he needed you to make up his mind for him to get motivated xD. I don't blame him since he had his thoughts on that delicious hay back in the stall haha. Just curious on how often do riders there switch up which horse they will be riding. Often riders and horses do better when they get routine time together to bond and learn each other more for better results. I am sure just like we are when riding different horses and learning their gait and personality, i am sure the horses experience the same concept in their new rider. It is super neat when the right match is made and it is instant connection between horse and rider where they click like best of buddies and then it's on!
Hahaha yup that’s exactly Filo!! Usually each rider has a few horses that they’ll rotate through, it’s not a strict rotation tho, sometimes you’ll be in the same horse a few times in a row, and every now and then you’ll ride someone new or someone you don’t ride too often! While I think there’s some benefit to riding different horses, each horse teaches you something different and challenges you in a different way, there’s so much value in riding the same horse as well! For about a month I had the same horse every lesson and I was really starting to feel like we were bonding and I understood how to ride her effectively! I don’t get to ride her too often anymore, I miss her!! ☺️
@@RidewithClara aww sorry you miss your favorite buddy to ride on! But what you shared makes absolute sense, in the learning so many things when riding various of horses that you would not get that kind of experience riding the same on horse day in day out. Some are so well trained and skilled that tho riding them is sheer bliss, a new rider doesn't learn anything of importance. I'm super happy that you get a place that offers a large variety of new riding skills! ... oh and btw i love that you wear a cam on your helmet, that angle really does take us viewers to a whole new level of virtual content to enjoy! i rode horses throughout my life time and over the years i just do not have the time or even fit enough to ride (getting older sux) lol. So this is a real treat to be up in the saddle from the camera's view point you offered. I can almost feel the gait of the horse's stride when watching! KUDOS TO YOU - you rock!
I’ve just had a fall (my second fall on her ) on my heart horse she bolted and got spooked 🥲 I had amazing lesson before I sat canter 2 laps and 3 poles , I guess things come with prices ? Ps. He’s so cute and my heart horse also has a huge head 😂❤and your riding has improved so much since the start of the channel ❤
Oh my goodness I hope you’re ok!! ❤️ it happens sometimes it’s out of our control but don’t let it discourage you, you’re doing great! And omg thank you so much 🥹🫶🏻
Watching the canter now! Yes inside and inside for this instance and maybe lil squeeze (not pull like your instructor says- but a lil squeeze like a sponge to say “outside rein still here) but mostly inside against the neck and definitely definitely inside LEG girl you got this!!! And keep that body-ody in check to make sure your not twisting! Inside shoulder up a bit. You, Claira!… I just have to say “persistence “ is how I would describe you! …without even knowing you! The “do you want me to try again” & “should I try again”’s (even though you may be nervous about the speed) you keep pushing the limit! I feel like you will absolutely be spectacular!!! I look forward to your videos all the time! Love seeing your progress!!! Wooohooo! And yeeehaw! ☺️🤠 you definitely cowgirled up for this ride!!! 🙌
How is your lesson barn? At mine they get the horse for you and then if u need help she stands there and watches u tack, we don’t tack in stalls, but I did go get the lesson horse I rode in the pasture once
At my barn when you’re a beginner beginner your horse will always be caught for you but they teach you how to tack up on your own with supervision from the very beginning. As you get more experienced you’ll tack up on your own and catch your horse as well. There’s so much more to horses than just riding them. I think it’s important to teach riders how to care for their horse as well as ride ☺️
@@RidewithClara I’m a beginner but I was allowed to go to the pasture and lead my horse into the barn but not alone, I can only trot and I ride western and I ride a horse named Marrakesh and she’s a 7 year old Arabian, who’s your fav horse at your barn or do you not have one lol :)
I’m still getting the hang of it too! But I would say leeaaannnnn back is the biggest thing that helps me have a good seat. And to grip with your calves rather than your knees ☺️ hope this helps!
Filo is the definition of a gentle giant. ❤
He truly is! ❤️ I love him so much
Yes
FILO THE BABY BOYYYYY ❤
Also Filo is literally MASSIVE he’s like the great-Dane of the horse world 😂
LOL yes that’s the perfect way to put it 😂
How many hh is he?the biggest horse I've rode was 16.1 lol
i ride a 17.1hh gelding❤ he is my bestfriend!
I got thrown off my 18hh a few weeks ago, I'm still trying to compare filo to my child in size 😂
