I grew up driving a 4230, it was my cultivator tractor in the summer when I was a kid. My dad had it and two 4430s. That 4230 was a fun little tractor to drive.
Nice video. My grandfather had a 4230 and he pulled a 5/16 International plow with it. A 4230 isn’t really enough tractor for a 5-bottom plow in tough conditions.
Aa bump up to a bigger plow, pulled three bottoms behind a 50 hp, should've started in the middle, be easier to level the field when you disc it, and when yo start in the middle and disc it you can double disc and get a better cover up of the crop material
We traded a real stong 4020 for a 4230. It wouldn’t pull the 5/16 plow. We traded for a 4 /16 and it would pull it fine. The quad range just robbed too much power
Thank you for your hard work small farms are fading fast

Usually a massey ferguson fan but i love the way this tractor sounds! So smooth
Thank you very much!
I'm amazed how dry it looks. Yes, those calming times of pulling a 3-4 bottom plow. It's a calming drive around‼️😅💞
There supper nice tractors
You have that plow set up perfectly. Great combination of tractor and plow.
Thanks 👍

Last plow i pulled was a 10 bottom behind and 8630 with the 50 kit. Good times!
Spectacular!!. Congratulations!!💪👏👍💚💛🇺🇸
Looks like you had it set really good. It was doing a great job.
Awesome tractor. I drove 4230 in the late 70s but didn't have cab just a top.
real decent looking job of plowing
We pulled a 4 bottom JD plow for decades with our 4230. In cornstalk ground, we could plow at 7 mph! Keep the 4 bottom and plow faster!
Looks like a great team.
Doing a fine job
Nice job your doing. I don't think you need more bottoms
Not a farmer here. Is there another implement that is used to bust up all the sod? Level it out?
Sweet
I’ll just watch

We switch every year going in then out
What year is the 4230? My dad bought one new in 1979 or 1980. I can't remember
This one is a 75
They were made from 73 to 77
Ok I was only 7 or 8 years old. He must have bought it used, that was our planting and spraying tractor

Why do you want to through the dirt so far
Not sure what you mean
@@Deandeere4020 my 4020 with 4/16 in 3rd or4th does a nice job and doesn't pull the tractor hard
Ya the 4230 does a great job in 3rd
Buy a no-till planter instead.
My corn yield went way up when I started turning the ground! I plow under my older stands of hay. 50 bushel to acre increase in yield.
