Slidell born and bred here. Back when the Northshore Square Mall wasn’t dead, Taco Tico was open, when there was a movie theatre and bowling alley on Pontchartrain drive, etc. Man, hurricane Katrina did a number on that city and it seems as though the population tripled or something. It used to be a quiet city, now it’s crowded and traffic is horrible. I moved before my teenage years, then after high school moved back, and then after Katrina hit I joined the military.
