My Nigerian heart is happy seeing David Oyelowo and my African heart is happy seeing the both of them together. Edited: He is from Oyo State, where I'm from as well. Oh Lord, my heart.
Really bittersweet reading this comment in light of his eaving the show and knowing why... I'm sooo happy he's happy and spending time with his family at home but I really miss him and I just don't see how anyone will be able to bring to the show the amount of diversity in every single area, that Trevor did...
David's transition from this high-minded actor/director who is starting a production company with the intent to eliminate prejudice in the world to his story of his adorable Nigerian father obsessed with leaf blowing is the best thing yet!
"...the more we understand different culture, different backgrounds, different people, the more we are likely to operate in ignorance which prejudice comes from" - David Oyelowo. The most thoughtful qoute I've heard on recent times.
My 3 year old daughter LOVES "David Oh-lo-le-loh" because he reads her 'Spot the Dog' audiotapes. She was so excited to see his face here! (What a lovely person and interview!)
Nigerian parents are characters if you belong to the western part of Nigeria you've witnessed the weird behavior, they don't care if they hurt your feelings or not
David is so hilarious! 😂😂. It's amazing too see how in addition to being so knowledgeable and driven, he has this easy going personality and he radiates a lot of positive energy.
What's so interesting is the things that bring our parents joy when they get older should be a tv show & each show about a different parent & the things that make them happy. My Dad just loved to shop. He always loved it but when he got older it was just hilarious. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😍🥰
Hawaiian Heat oh m geeee I would love this show!!! My mom has a weird obsession with building stores- like stores that sell various building equipment??? It's extremely weird😂😂
That sounds so strange. I can’t imagine my Nigerian Dad enjoying leaf blowing. The concept of use taking care of the grass is so foreign to my father till this day and he has been in this country for almost 40 years.
Okay, with David Oyelowo and Trevor Noah in conversation there is simply charm overload! I had to watch the leaf-blowing Nigerian dad part about six times, for David with perfect comic timing and then just to watch Trevor laugh! Wonderful!
I was watching "The Girl Before" on HBO and I just had to come back and watch this again. The leaf blowing story never gets old. Love me some David Oyelowo!
The dad talk was so funny that I have been replaying this for the last 8 months. Have me cracking up like it's the first time everytime 🤣🤣🤣Trevor has me lol
David your dad will so get you when he watches this. He will be like 'so you went to embarrass your father on television, to the whole would '(in Nigerian Yoruba accent)
I thinkbonly trevor noah let his guests talk about what they really want to talk about and are allowedbto have fun on interviews! this wasbone of the most relaxed and fun interviews on the daily show. love it!
I have literally watched the leaf blowing story 10 times and it gets funnier everytime🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me tooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have watched it sooo many times.🤣🤣🤣. When he says, “Aha, the leaves.” Gets me every time. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice guy.
haha! same ☝🏾🤣🤣🤣🤣
So me😆😆😆😆
The way Trevor cracked up & danced around when David said, “Aha, the leaves!” 🤣🤣🤣
I know right
@ Kenya David's : Unbelievable, how come I didn't saw that part ? 👈😂😂😂😂😂😂✌
yes, his African exploded! 🤣❤ so did mine 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aha! De leaves!
Trevor Noah is adorable and genuine..
Can we just pause and talk about David's Shirt! Representing the motherland in every way. I Love.
Beautiful Shirt! Goes neatly with the suit.
Like that too! Very nice.
Yes!! As soon as I noticed i couldnt get my eyes off of it, its so pretty😍
Melanie K “Ankara” for sure
I jst took a screenshot 😍😍
His dad sounds adorable. Here’s hoping he has lots of leaves this year.
Lol
hahahahahaha!!!
Came here from best of the year interviews.
I cried laughing at that! It's the most amazing thing when anybody can be so joyful with the simplest things in life.
Who else is here because of the 2019 funniest moments compilation?

My Nigerian heart is happy seeing David Oyelowo and my African heart is happy seeing the both of them together.
Edited: He is from Oyo State, where I'm from as well. Oh Lord, my heart.
Oshe!
I'm not from Oyo State, but we love him. He's a great actor.
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!! 💃💃💃💃
My parents are also from Oyo State. WE OUTCHEA!!!
Especially when you live in Ibadan. "Eran shiken ni"
Trevor is never happier than when something reminds him of home. It's so fun to watch bc it's obvious how much he loves Africa and home
Bhavana Dabir totally!!
agreed
So true.
Now I can't stop watching it again lolol
Really bittersweet reading this comment in light of his eaving the show and knowing why... My heart skipped when he said "Ahen, the leaves" because he sounded sooo much like my Dad who is also from Oyo state lmao
Thats an African expression that can't be faked. Loved it
My dad is from Lagos
He also loves leaf blowing
I think he's from Oyo as well.
Right😭I’m from Aba but that hand expression that he did was spot on🤣🤣
Now that was one of the best interviews I’ve seen! Two of the most interesting, articulate, funny, and elegant men in the world!
Absolutely. I felt like having some tea while David was speaking. i wonder why... lol
Cheers to that!

@@leslieodjugo3199 right..I was whaaaaaat???
I love Trevor's reactions and the fact that he is genuinely tickled pink..lol
Love the Ankara shirt David is wearing, compliments the suit nicely!
hilarious - "aha the leaves!" and trevor cracking up always gets me!!!
'Aha the leaaves' 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Original Naija!!
Ikr
😆😆😆 Oh, now, it's the mark of a good storyteller when everyone in the room is _rolling in their seats,_ yet he is absolutely straight-faced.
Eh, that voice is something...intelligent & has his Nigerian accent down!!!
He maybe British but he got his African-esque story telling on lock.
Well...duh his parents are Nigerian
@@MT-eo6tq Yeah, that is never a guarantee with 1st generation immigrant children.
No one can imitate an immigrant better than a child of an immigrant.
@@africarib years of listening to their parents, especially when the parent is in an excited state?!
@@africarib you are right
I've never seen Trevor laugh so hard… ever. He almost goes to the Nigerian afterlife 😂😂😂
I have but it was a long time ago, maybe I have to revisit it…
low key David Oyelowo can definitely be a comedian his timing is on point
I SO AGREE WAS THINKING WHY WASNT THIS TOP COMMENT
David Oyelowo needs to do some stand up, that was hilarious!!
Exactly
He's eloquent in expressing his ideas.
My 3 year old daughter LOVES "David Oh-lo-le-loh" because he reads her 'Spot the Dog' audiotapes. She was so excited to see his face here!
(What a lovely person and interview!)
Well...I am a new fan!

I am an English teacher and I can state that he speaks a beautiful English. Not only his pronunciation, but his grammar structure, syntax. On MY lord!
He’s from England and formally trained so……
What a weird comment
Nigerian parents are characters if you belong to the western part of Nigeria you've witnessed the weird behavior, they don't care if they hurt your feelings or not
Absolutely! Feelings bíi ti bawo? I was done by "Ah hen! The leaves."🤣
Hihi im maroccan and maroccan parents 2. Something african parents do
@@fadouam4194 I can totally believe that... language might be different but the enthusiasm is the same. I be getting confused at my friends' houses🤣
This is true. LOL

Two of my favorite men in one frame...just awesome. And the bit about his Yorùbá dad, I was just done. That's my dad...with just about any gadget🤣
So happy to see Nigerian representatives doing well in Hollywood! 💖
Two intelligent people having a smart conversation! Love it!
Such a classy and charming gentleman. Love that british accent sooo much. Loved Trevor's reaction during the leaf blower story ! LOL.
His dad is obsessed with leaf blowers? Boy some parents do have some of the weirdest hobbies some funnier than the rest. That one made my day. 😂😂😂
David is so hilarious! 😂😂.
It's amazing too see how in addition to being so knowledgeable and driven, he has this easy going personality and he radiates a lot of positive energy.
I wish that interview had gone on much longer!
That part needs to be a gif "AHA da LEAVES!" 🤣
made it into a gif, but mostly because of how hard trevor laughs
Voom! *pause* Voom! *pause* Voom!
The leaves!
I peed and almost coughed up a lung. Haaaaaaaa! 🤣🤣🤣
Replay: "Ahhen de leaves" @9:13 lol Trevors reaction
The hilarious turn this interview took of David talking about his fathers leaf obsession has me in tears! "Aha! The leaves!" 🤣🤣
What's so interesting is the things that bring our parents joy when they get older should be a tv show & each show about a different parent & the things that make them happy. My Dad just loved to shop. He always loved it but when he got older it was just hilarious. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😍🥰

Can the next guest be David’s dad??
I want him too
I too wish that could have been. Alas, he died of colon cancer in September of 2020.
@@debojoychanda72 Rest In Peace 😔

'Aha the leaves' got me creaking up. Trevor that was a hearty laugh. So proud of you both.
Anybody that didn't watch this until the end missed out big time lmmfao
This was the funniest interview of the year and it has the lowest views of all interviews from 2019. Sad
You gotta love David when you hear him speak. Really eloquent and intelligent. He made Trevor laugh genuinely! Best combo this one.
LMAO at David Oyelowo talking about his dad! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I had to watch it twice.
Who else wants to go blow some leaves with his dad? 🍁 🍁🍁
dogless10 there is a following.
Me!
The sound effects on the “leaves story section” 😂😂😂😂
This, honestly was just beautiful and fun to watch. David is so articulate, its awesome that he still has his Nigerian roots intact. Great interview.
When David said "aha da leaves" Trevor laughed and shook himself with his head looking like a bobble head doll and he clapped. 😂😂😂😂
This interview was super refreshing and got me feeling good by the end of it.
That oration before they discussed David's dad, was some of the most impressive pieces of talking I have heard in current times...good on ya, David!!
Two men of African heritage. Let that sink in.
....Africa is a continent and there are a lot of people in Africa.
Why...
That sounds so strange. I can’t imagine my Nigerian Dad enjoying leaf blowing. The concept of use taking care of the grass is so foreign to my father till this day and he has been in this country for almost 40 years.
That's probably the point. The novelty of it is what makes it more of a hobby and fun thing than if it was pushed onto him since he was a boy.
Love David Oyelowo. His dad action crakes me up
All was amazing but the leaf blower story is the best! Well told and great acting out of his dad. So adorable how he treats his dad.
It must be a Nigerian dad thing. My dad does the same. Also from Oyo state, what a coincidence.
Okay, with David Oyelowo and Trevor Noah in conversation there is simply charm overload! I had to watch the leaf-blowing Nigerian dad part about six times, for David with perfect comic timing and then just to watch Trevor laugh! Wonderful!
I could listen to him talk all day... his voice is so rich and hypnotic 😍
Same as I. Shall we😉
I was watching "The Girl Before" on HBO and I just had to come back and watch this again. The leaf blowing story never gets old. Love me some David Oyelowo!
I could easily watch this everyday and never not laugh at David's impressions of his dad!!
His Nigerian accent 👌🏿
Well he is Nigerian
His eloquence OMG😍.
Just wondering how timely it was for Trevor to ask about his dad and such humour followed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video just t crack up at the leaf blower story. It NEVER gets old 😂
I love this guy, he is so mirthful and smart.
Mirthful...what a great word
This is one of the reasons I love reading comments. To learn new words and meanings. Mirthful. What a wonderful word.
