I only get 2.15V from the lead output when using diode mode. I could test red-green LED's, no voltage reported for blue white or UV LED's. Notice the APO disable feature is often reverted when changing ranges because the unit likes to reset itself from time to time. This can be overcome by holding select while changing ranges, although a bit clumsy. Did you find the relative feature for capacitance which shows Δ in the display and rel's out the test lead capacitance?
Yes as mentioned it the video ,the diode voltage is too low for blue leds & such . Fun fact , there is a hidden feuture inaide the meter which i added my self ,which is the backlight. If u hold the HOLD key down ,it turns a pin on inaide which supposed to be for the backlight ,its missing a resistor & a transistor but u can easily add it yourself alongside the backlight it self , which i did . Regarding the capacitance , i didnt check it sisnce the capacitance values itself is rarely a use case for me because it doesnt show the esr . I would suggest you to get one of those cheap multi function transistor tester which measures caps & industors along many other things like transistor & mosfets & diodes .
@@thevoidedwarranty I have the close cousin SZ305 which has the backlight feature and I also noticed the "phantom" backlight with this unit. I was thinking about copying the circuit over but this display has such good contrast that adding it wouldn't make it more useful to me. The light never stays on long enough anyway, I think I would make it latch somehow (requiring a different circuit). I have the transistor tester which is less accurate for capacitance but does indeed provide a useful ESR value. However, I also have a LCR Tester (ET431) which provides more extensive information for capacitors. On another note, I don't like how obnoxious the beeper is, so I increased the value of the SMD resistor going to the beeper, which also reduces battery consumption along with volume.
