Hi Fiona, This film shows Soundbeam 5 - (now 10 years old) please get in touch via website - www.soundbeam.co.uk - to set up a demo - we'd love to meet up and explain anything you'd like to know about the latest system.. many thanks Adrian.
So this video is ten years old(this is 2024), How come I've never heard of Soundbeam? Apparently it's not used by mainstream musicians, or I would be more aware of it. It is a fascinating musical tool...as some have said, it's like a Theremin, only on a much grander level. It's kinda gimmicky, but I can see how people with learning disabilities could enjoy and create music and sounds with this.
Hi, This system is really interesting for all kind of people, valid ones as for people with disabilities, including people with ataxia. I know someone with a rare debilitating disease, Friedreich's ataxia, she is passionate of jazz rythms and music; this type of system could be a very good entertainment. She cannot move correctly her fingers but can move her arms to produce sound and music.

I have a few questions for you. What's the price on the soundbeam? Do you think it would be good for a blind or visually impaired person? Does the drums inside the machine include 808's or 809's? My last question is can you get them in the U.S? Thanks for your help.
+Zaire Johnson - Hi Zaire, thanks for your interest - perhaps you'd like to see more info on the soundbeam website where you'll also find contact details.. your questions... Price depends on the number of sensors and wireless switches - also whether you include speakers, stands microphone .. Blind or visually impaired? - Soundbeam can be played and enjoyed by anyone - I have certainly observed blind and visually impaired people playing soundbeam with great skill and enjoyment..... 808 809? - the Soundbeam 5 has an inbuilt GM synth (258 instrument sounds) and a sampler, which makes use of a library of 16bit stereo wav files - to which you can add. in the U.S? You can get Soundbeam anywhere in the world, see the website or get in touch for details on that.
